Nobody really like to carry those currencies and coins in their pockets IMO. It isn't that safe, many will debate about carrying credit cards, even then at some point we will have to withdraw or pay our bills with cash. But if digital currencies come into existence there won't be any hassle IMO.
That would be a great comfort for all of us. Digital currencies like bitcoin can be used in that part of living paying bills, game buying and some that can be done online. But regarding paper money that is paid in stores outside that should stay like that. Money should still be physically seen. |

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Well if you look at some futuristic movies theres no paper money there and thats where we are heading right now. We are evolving to a digital world you might not agree with me but in reality thats were we are heading. We are heading towards technology. At the same time everything can't be changed to digital environment. One such thing is paper money, however technological evolution takes place Usage of paper money will not be stopped. |

Youre absolutely right on that. Paper money has always will be forever here to stay. But there will be a time when this falls all on us, because of other peoples politicians mistakes esp mis handling the whole u.s. deficit. |

Paper money is always going to be needed in the future. Many people still don't even know what a Bitcoin is. In addition, many of the world's economies rely on printing it's own money. What we might see is a state sponsored altcoin to compete with Bitcoin. Banks are not in favor of Bitcoin.
Yes the future of paper money is safe and it don't have any threat from bitcoins even now and not even in future as if you compare the uses of bitcoins with fiat then you can get your answer very easily and its never easy to disappear the paper money so easily. I would say that may only be a few people who use paper money. banknotes will remain valuable even though. I'll admit that digital era where all financial transactions will be completely wiht online. the proof is already visible when you use a credit card for the transaction. for most people rarely carry cash in their wallet. is true Yes, I also agree that when all the systems will shifted to digital and all the transactions are going to happen through online system then bitcoin will replace fiat on a large scale. |

Yes, I also agree that when all the systems will shifted to digital and all the transactions are going to happen through online system then bitcoin will replace fiat on a large scale.
Why do you think just because paper money will be mostly useless that people will automatically want to switch to Bitcoin? Using virtual fiat affords protections from fraud, stable value, and the backing of a government. To most people those are more valuable than a community that supports it any day. The average person doesn't want a money revolution, they just want to be able to buy their stuff smoothly. |

The more I look at the future, the more I see a brighter future for paper money. We shall reach a point where people will be fed up being tracked and traced all the time. And the only way against that mass surveillance warfare is to use cash. Cash is also a nice option to save money because of falling interest rates. They're already negative in some countries!

I am not thinking of that for now. That could happen in the more future world. But for now I am thinking of a one currency. One fiat one paper money. If it is dollar or euro or other currency. I think that should happen. Anywhere you go it is the same money. |

Paper money wont exist in 100 years time, the money that is going to be used by that time will be digitized. If paper money is going to be phased out, I expect it to be replaced by conventional banks as we know it now. Pay with plastic, not with bitcoin.
But as long as there is a need for a private payment, and I think there will always be one, people will come up with other things. It could be paper money from a different country, good-old-gold, or cryptocurrencies. Its a simple fact that I don't want all my transactions to be seen by a bank/government.
