Why bitcointalk.org Looks so Bad

I mean, Seriously, We have a growing userbase, Still We are stuck with such designs

We could easily ask a person for designing or even just buy a theme


The forum looks like Windows 98

A new forum is being built which also looks better than the current theme. I believe Theymos doesn't use other themes because they might mess with the code changes that he has made in SMF for this forum.

I don't think any such new forum is being built.Its just rumuor that just went off.

LMAO! Yes, that's why the "New forum software" section is there (and has the description of "Discussion about the new forum software under development").

@OP, the design might look really weird now (I personally thought that as well when I first got here), but you get used to it and now I personally like it.

Well i have the same impression now and i think I will start whining about how ugly the new forum will look before I get used to it.
The only problem with the actual one that it isn't a phone friendly..

He means that it isn't mobile friendly; the site appears exactly the same on mobile as it does on computers. However, I don't really have a problem with that since I'm so used to the forum anyways.

I honestly don't mind the default SMF theme that much. It's clean and easy on the eyes at least.

I don't have any problem with the current theme. In my case I find it more simple and easy to look at and unlike other forums, I can stay in this forum in a whole day without actually hurting my eyes. (I have some eye issues so simplicity is a friend to me).

This forum serves its purpose, which is a platform to discuss bitcoin. Doesn't need a colourful theme. It's simple and it works.

That's how I feel. Many bright and vibrant forum themes nowadays distract from the content and sometimes hurts my eyes.

I've heard bitcointalk's been planning a makeover, which I really think it needs. Take a look at the steam forums, they are beautiful. At least in the top section of the page, make the buttons bigger...

bitcointalk.org is good and minimal in my opinion, I love this 'design/theme' but maybe it is only a question of habit.

I love the current theme absolutely no reason to change.
