There is a new forum underway with lots of developers working on the project. I generally am used to posting from my laptop anyway but I genernally prefer it when forum administrators enable the Tapatalk plugin for my phone. I may not like the plane jane look of this forum anyway but to give to programmers at SMF credit, "plane jane" is suitable to any topic, and a theme like this is easily package-able. CakePHP for example comes with a similar plain looking theme that is easy for developers to work with. Customization is key.

Signatures? How about learning a skill... I don't care either way. Everybody has to make a living somehow.

I believe a new forum must have a thing from the blockchain may be a blockchain verification so that it is not hacked so easily as this forum has been twice in count.

I like the uncluttered look of this forum. It's clean and crisp and loads fast enough to give a pleasurable experience for even the novice forum user.

I have seen much worst than this, with crazy pop up ads and vibrant colors that are quite hard on the vision, after a few hours of reading.

I would just like to see a built in multi-currency "Tip button" on this or the new forum.  Wink

I mean, Seriously, We have a growing userbase, Still We are stuck with such designs

We could easily ask a person for designing or even just buy a theme

The forum looks like Windows 98

it looks fine to me they made it like this because to make it easier to use
for new members. unlike other sites with all new flashy animations.
the design is perfect for this forum.

This forum looks quite clean and sleek, it is much easier to navigate and load on slower devices. The main problem is basically the security issues and lack of features. The new forum have implemented 2FA which can deter hacking attempts and there is a subsection for suggestions on the new forum.

It is one of the cleaner forums to me.. I always get confused when browsing those "fancy forums", this one was clear from the start.

How would you want it to look? Do you have an example of a good looking forum?

I think the admins put more effort into security than a sleek design. The forum is easy to use anyway, no need to over complicate it.

At first, I really didn't like how the forum looked, but now I'm actually quite fond of how it looks. Well, I would like a graphic update to this forum, but it's really not a problem for me. Though, sometimes it is a pain in the ass to write here on mobile.

Yes, but they dont spend millions on a design. The new forum is supposed to be easily modified and the major changes are on the backend for admins not for users. There is an entire subboard here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=167.0
if you want to read more.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

I don't see anything bad with this theme.

This is most easy on the eyes theme in comparison with other forums.

I actually like this theme because it is simple. It does not load any unnecessary thing such as animation and what not. It is also very fast.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Time to be active on the crypto forums again? Proud to be one of the few Legendary members of the Sparkie Red Dot!

Gonna put this on my resume if I ever join a cryptocurrency/blockchain industry!

Simple? I have to go all the way to my profile to reach my last posts...

One thing that really bothers me is that the "Home, help, search, donate, profile, my messages, members, logout" bar is so small! I can barely click the buttons!

Like everyone said, it's easy to get used to. At least it's not a huge whopping bar that takes up a fifth of your screen.

And yeah, how else would you propose you reach your last posts?

the bar size is just fair and normal i think. if its still really so small for you, why dont you try to zoom in? admins cant change that just only because 1 doesnt like it

@OP, the design might look really weird now (I personally thought that as well when I first got here), but you get used to it and now I personally like it.
Well i have the same impression now and i think I will start whining about how ugly the new forum will look before I get used to it.
The only problem with the actual one that it isn't a phone friendly..
I tried to connect in btctalk with uc browser for android and i found a different display which is phone friendly if someone want to take a look.
(with chrome i have to zoom to see the posts in every page but I get used to it after few weeks).

In my opinion the design might not look extraordinary but it does the trick, its not the design that matters most but rather the functionality that it hast. The simplicity of current forum theme is simple enough for everyone to understand this forum and I wouldn't mind if the new forum design stays exactly like this as long as it gains more functionality over the course of building it and to add up to that , the simpler the theme the faster the loading time

I like current look of bitcointalk, and I don't need any graphical overhaul. Maybe just add some features.
All I want to have is the possibility to revert to our current look when we'll ever had new forum.
