Does anybody know correct options for chips->vanitygen?
It's not nice to answer to yourself, especially in public , let's say it's ok if I share it with you , let's make an howto from it Steps to do before you can continueAs dev was probably entering new year and did not reply , I had to look for it. How to do it , here is an little how to, say thanks Chipcoin starts with "C", which means value for given version must be one either 27, 28 or 29. For me it was logical that it is 28, however, every dev specifies it when creating a coin. I did not try 27 and 29. For those who have troubles in finding letters and numbers out, this table might be very helpful:) Examples for Windows (most tux users probably know how to use this tool ) you can copy and save it as batch (*.bat, *.cmd) and place them in the same folder as vanitigen- Get one single address, fastest way
- I want to define pattern, let's say I want to get CHiP (small "i", because I like O as well as l and some other can not be used)
- My pattern: CHiP
- I want to save results in: CHiP_keys.txt
- I used following address version values: 28,102-103
Usage: oclvanitygen.exe [-vqrikNTS] [-d <device>] [-f <filename>|-] [<pattern>...] Generates a bitcoin receiving address matching <pattern>, and outputs the address and associated private key. The private key may be stored in a safe location or imported into a bitcoin client to spend any balance received on the address. By default, <pattern> is interpreted as an exact prefix. By default, if no device is specified, and the system has exactly one OpenCL device, it will be selected automatically, otherwise if the system has multiple OpenCL devices and no device is specified, an error will be reported. To use multiple devices simultaneously, specify the -D option for each device.
Options: -v Verbose output -q Quiet output -i Case-insensitive prefix search -k Keep pattern and continue search after finding a match -N Generate namecoin address -T Generate bitcoin testnet address -X <version> Generate address with the given version -e Encrypt private keys, prompt for password -E <password> Encrypt private keys with <password> (UNSAFE) -p <platform> Select OpenCL platform -d <device> Select OpenCL device -D <devstr> Use OpenCL device, identified by device string Form: <platform>:<devicenumber>[,<options>] Example: 0:0,grid=1024x1024 -S Safe mode, disable OpenCL loop unrolling optimizations -w <worksize> Set work items per thread in a work unit -t <threads> Set target thread count per multiprocessor -g <x>x<y> Set grid size -b <invsize> Set modular inverse ops per thread -V Enable kernel/OpenCL/hardware verification (SLOW) -f <file> File containing list of patterns, one per line (Use "-" as the file name for stdin) -o <file> Write pattern matches to <file> -s <file> Seed random number generator from <file> oclvanitygen.exe -D 0:1 -X 28,102-103 -o CHiP_keys.txt CHiP oclvanitygen.exe -D 0:1 -k -X 28,102-103 -o CHiP_keys.txt CHiP oclvanitygen.exe -D 0:1 -k -X 28,102-103 -f YourPatterns.txt -o YourPatterns_keys.txt @echo off REM C 27-29 REM H 39-42 REM i 101-104 REM P 54-57 REM C 27-29 REM o 114-115 REM i 120-103 REM n 112-113

BEFORE YOU SEND COINS TO ONE OF THE RESULTS THAT YOU GET, test it by importing to your wallet, that is done this way, run this in console or with paycoind: importprivkey YourPrivateKey "Label" dumpprivkey YourWalletAddress CHiPotwXovWVomEnvR4EpoxmebJsXKeWKn CHiPJWdKYMbpAfAJowhCVny5a1XAyMF7uE @BanzaiBTC Not sure, but maybe this post would fit better in the OP. Too early or not, but there is nothing on the way to create CHIP's paperwallet. @Boki15 - Thank you very much for this guide - I will give it a go and see what I can find. I have never done a vanity address before.

USE IT ONLY WITH YOUR CERTIFICATE, DO NOT USE SAME CERTIFICATE THAT EVERYBODY GETS IN PUBLIC !!!Thanks for the clarification! Sorry for off-topic again, but now another question: what is the significance of the certificate? I mean nobody in this world still will not be able to generate a private key for your vanity address, or I'm wrong here?

I think you should start reading, I can't explain you anything in one post and I do not have time to write, there is a lot about it. I think this article is written in some understandable manner and could wake up your curiosity to read more, there is a bunch of people who could explain you all this better. First look for/read about armory tools, this will help you to understand technical aspects much deeper. !!! SECURITY !!!- Do not use certificate delivered by vanitigen (cert.pem), as if you do, your address will not be secure. Instead, create your own DH key and CA certificate, replace cert.pem from vanitygen with yours. Who has never created an certificate, XCA is best know GUI to me. First create an key, then CA certificate. While I appreciate your work on the manual, your arrogant post makes me say that what you are telling about the certificate is total bullshit. Anyways, here we go: CHiPo3v95tRkFgyDBYTy1tsZMFCGTYmyTd -- address generated with the certificate delivered by vanitigen. 10000 CHIPs, all yours! Arrogant??? Lol, go ask someone else and think what you want

Banzai, what will be the future of CHIP?
A stable chain for the next X years.. and new stuff when its done of course I've been really busy the last few weeks.. I assisted a lot in other coin projects.. Created a brand new explorer to keep my services updated.. Got a new job.. So CHIP has been on hold for a while.. I will start working on an update very soon.. Things just need to settle down a little first.. My new job is killing me atm with 50hrs a week.. But that will calm down in a week or 2, which leaves me with more time to work on CHIP and my planned projects.. @Boki Thanks a lot for the manual! I will work it out and place it in a pdf on the website and OP if you don't mind

Congrats for a new job, hope it's good paid if you have to work 50 hours a week, lol when you find time to come over, we will explain you what we have done with chips . In real, 50 hours, that's too much. Feel free to post it, it was created for chip , I'll pass you edited post per PM with some additions and corrections but if people start asking, I am not going to reply, you see how it turns, they ask to destroy something, something that you created , that's not productive.
