Wouldn't it be better if we have both?if it has to be one,I would go for dot.btc for it is short and sounds better for TLD for example if we use it for this forum,bitcointalk.btc sounds more nice then bitcointalk.bitcoin

You got the extra $185k for both of them?

I voted for .btc for similar reasons to those previously, though that might be just because I dislike the new long gTLDs..

i like the idea of adding a top level Domain name for bitcoin it would make it standard .
anyways i voted for .btc because it is shorter and easier to type. and the three letter makes it look better as an address in comparison with the long .bitcoin that would just look unusual !

off course .btc. just like .social, .tv, .media. These TLD are more specific for the content.

.tv is a coutry code domain, it's the country code for Tuvalu, a small island in the pacific, it's not a domain for television related sites.

.BTC is the most aesthetically pleasing option by far because it complies with the 3 letter standard. I don't get why a lot of people are using .io specifically, they are so expensive so register even more than .com. I hope .btc doesn't become incredibly expensive for some reason and we see tons of .btc sites in the future.

I think .bitcoin would be better for SEO. Many search engines include the URL text as part of the search criteria which is why you see so many news sites that instead of making up an ID for each article like news.com/dfj34ifkdj.html  it will be  news.com/child-rescues-monkey-from-evil-panther

Also as others have stated, not everyone knows that BTC means bitcoin.  My vote is definitely for .bitcoin

There really is no point talking about this pipe dream because unless OP has the money to bring the TLD into existence this is just a pipe dream. How did you acquire the money to make such an investment? Do you have a plan to recover losses? (IE selling domain names).
