PUTIN goes to WAR against ISIS: Stop dithering and FIGHT, Russian leader tells West

VLADIMIR Putin has stepped up Russia's military presence in Syria and told the west it must back its leader Bashar al-Assad in order to tackle the growing threat of Islamic State (ISIS).

The superpower has brought in 28 fighter aircraft and thousands of soldiers to the war-torn Middle East country to support the Assad regime.

That puts Russia in direct opposition to a US-led coalition which has brought military action against the Syrian government.

The US has accused Syria of a series of atrocities against its own people.

But Putin said backing Assad was the only way to defeat the terrorism rapidly growing in the area.

In a televised interview Putin said action against Assad's government would "create a situation" seen in countries such as Libya "where all the state institutions are disintegrated".

He added: "There is no other solution to the Syrian crisis than strengthening the effective government structures and rendering them help in fighting terrorism."

Putins calls come as Britons also back a military offensive against ISIS.

Findings of a poll released today show nearly half (46 per cent) want troops on the ground fighting terrorists in Syria.

Only 31 per cent of those asked were against such an operation.

The survey, carried out by Sky News, also found almost three quarters backed bombing specific targets in the region.

It came weeks after it was revealed the Government had killed two Britons fighting for ISIS in a drone attack in Syria.

Assad's regime is at war with ISIS but the west is carrying out air strikes against both sides of the conflict.

It's just politic game, Putin want to save Assad, his last friend and ally in that area.
Syria is very important strategic nation and super powers ( USA and RUSSIA) have a lot interest there (oil, geostrategic position etc ).
Average people in Syria have no use for it and suffer still in the war-troubled country.

Nope. You are wrong. Putin trying to save Assad couse if syria will fall then all middle east will be on fire. Islamic state will eventually take everything. Dozens of countryes. In middle east, in north africa, then in asia and in caucasus region. That's why syria is a crucial point. That's why america wants to break it.

Putin doesn't care much about Bashar al Assad. But he want a secular leader to rule Syria, as all the other countries in the Middle-East are now ruled by Wahabbist and Salafist rulers. Also, the ISIS is a real threat to Russia. If ISIS spreads to the Caucasus region (Chechenya, Daghestan, KBR, KCR.etc), then hell will break lose in Russia.

This might work for us. With the IS militants going to war against Russia. the US and others, we could find a joint effort that will make all of us with one goal, no more IS militants.

Putin is just cleaning a mess caused by USA a bit. Putin is only one who can solve Syrian crisis, USA can only make it worse.

Actually, it's the opposite, Putin helped daesh: because of Russian bombing of the FSA, daesh have been able to launch a new local offensive.

And there's other news: a Russian jet that has entered Turkish airspace (probably north of Aleppo) has been shot down, circumstances are still unclear.

Sometimes, if it looks too bullish, it's actually bearish

USA is having sinister intentions. They want to destabilize the Middle East (as they have done with Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon), and increase their weapon sales. Also, they want to re-distribute the oil and gas fields in the Middle East, to the American corporations (a notable example is that of Iraq, where American corporations now control almost all of the petroleum assets).

The official spokeswoman for Russia's Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova is addressing a number of issues, including Moscow's airstrike campaign in Syria at today’s news conference.

It was an unsubstantiated rumor, which was later proved to be false. Earlier there were reports that the Turks had shot down a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet. The comedy is that Russia doesn't have any MiG-29s in Syria. However, the regime air force uses them. The regime sources also confirmed that all their MiG-29s are safe and accounted for.

This is just another political approach he is using to prove that Russia doesnt support terrorism .Most of the guns supplied to IS radicals are MADE IN RUSSIA and this survey was conducted by Vice itself .Since Obama is taking few measures to eradicate terrorism from Syria ,I think its a huge political game .We are just blind folded to this entire scam .Please dont believe the media .

But that's weapons the islamic state captured right? Not given or sold to them by russia. Probably just captured from the syrian forces. But they have weapons from all over. American weapons, russian weapons, chinese weapons, etc.

I dont know if War is the solution for the ongoing crises but Russia should make sure that no innocent die because of their action. Hope Syria crises will end in this year.

Unfortunately there is no ending to the Syrian crisis in Syria continues to exist. In my opinion the crisis will end when Syria gets splitted between the parties.

I also thing that Syrian crisis will not end that soon. And Europe is flooded with refugees, it's getting worse each day. Dont' see how we can cope with this this on a long term basis.
