I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but I want to be clear on this.

I'm new to bitcoin mining and have the following setup:
I live in a small apartment and have an s5 that I'm using with a fan mod (2X Noctua NF-F12's in a push-pull config)and underclocking it @ a frequency of 343.75.
It's running at an ambient temp of 76, and it's been like that for several months. So far it's been working fine with no errors.

I'm looking to upgrade to an s7, but I have some concerns about the temp, the noise, and mainly the power.

From what I've read the s7 requires at least 205V to operate, and many people have added an addition 25A circuit to their breaker box in order to accommodate this.

Since I live in an apartment, adding a 25A circuit is not an option for me, but my dryer outlet is 220V @ 30A. Do you think it's possible for me to use a converter on the outlet to run my s7?

Any CONSTRUCTIVE advice would be appreciated.

To be honest I am not completely sure. I'm supposing (assumption is a powerful force) that this is possible for you, but hey, assumption can kill a miner as well. Noise should not be an issue, but the fan rpm is pretty slow and there should be higher rpm quiet fans out there that will cool better, so you'll be able to run without under or overclocking. Ambient temp is a bit high, and if you got a higher rpm fan it should cool down to near 60 and the life of the antminer will be extended. Antminers were never meant to be home miners, so don't expect too much out of them.

Hi I am experiencing an issue whereby two blades on my Antminer S7 are hashing fine while the other reports no issues but shows a low temperature and acts as if it's not hashing giving a hash of 3.2 th or so.

I have double checked and reseated all connections and I don't think it's an issue since it was hashing fine for a month or so.

I changed PSUs and it's still ASIC 3 that is showing the low temperatures. Sometimes 23 C only !!

Sometimes the 3rd board shows all the ooooooooo as if it's normal. Sometimes it's missing some of the oooooooo and sometimes it's showing xxxxxxxoxx

Does this mean the 3rd board is faulty? I've been trying to contact bitmain and e-mailed them and opened a support ticket but have not received a response

It is within warranty so I'm concerned why Bitmain has not responded

Let me give that a try.

The interesting thing is when it first boots up (I set the fans to 50% because of the cold place i put it in and I hate the whine), it goes 100% fan speed (which is normal), then it goes down to 50% and it actually hashes okay for a while at full speed. Then after a few seconds, it will stop, fan goes back to 100% and then it settle down to 50% after a short while and then it only hashes at 3 th.

I've dropped a support ticket to Bitmain almost a week ago but have yet to hear anything from them

Yes I disconnected the power to all the other blades and the miner just refused to go and kept on going on a reboot loop where the fans went nuts, it showed a blade with a low temp and then restarted again. Sometimes it shows all the ooooo sometimes it's missing some of the ooooo. When connecting to a different port, no go it would still refuse to hash.

I disconnected the defective blade and left the 2 good one in. It hashes but still did the 100% fan whooshing with mining and then the board rebooted again and restarted and now stably hashing at 3.2 TH. is that normal?

Sounds like a faulty hashing board, nothing we can do but warranty replace it.

Yes that is normal, flashing 100% fan on helps clear dust.

I actually don't know what their preferred contact method is, they seem to change a lot.

I am having an issue with 3 of my s7 batch 2. They are running but not mining and I am not sure what do there seems to be no CG Miner after my last reset.

Can you post a screenshot of your configuration page please? Are you sure that they have internet access and nothing on that side has changed?

I reflashed the image and that seemed to get it straight. It happened on all 3 of my S7's that were hooked up to non bitmain PSU's it was weird.

I am trouble getting my S7 to report its chosen ip address. I have followed the instructions in the pdf file, I have tried ipreporter the link they give in the pdf., but it is in Chinese; easy to figure out the tabs but the software keeps reporting "has timed out start again" in Chinese characters.

My S7 batch 16 did ship with one super fan & I did notice 2 of the boards are not secure in the housing slots and wiggle, the first board is secure & all the heatsinks are attached to the chips on each board.

I am using a 1600 watt eVGA PSU.

When I power up the S7 it is idle for a few min & then it goes full fan & seems to be mining on the default antminer pool or whatever they config the S7 with in the mining pool sets. Green lights on controller board , red lights on the front of each ASIC card.

Giant sad face. I guess when you do not allow DHCP on the unit they get more default pool configs so you mine on to the bitmain pool x whoever is trying to configure their miners total hash.

I am happy to learn that everything is ok now.If you see x.x.x.x , it is bb problem related to hardware or software.Try replacing a new version of image afterward replacing the BB.Unfortunately BBs can not be repaired.

Delayed response: Assuming you changed from the default setting of DHCP to a fixed IP, it is possible that you missed some of the additional settings below the fixed IP. These settings must be entered otherwise the device will not be connectible, which may be what happened in your situation.
