You can't mine with that. You need specialist hardware to mine. You might be able to run a Bitcoin node but that won't make you any money.

As for how to grow your coins, most cloud mining is a scam, most 'investments' are a scam, gambling is a one way ticket to having zero coins. Sell some stuff, sign up for a sig campaign, offer services in return for coins. Usual stuff.

you can use the vps for altcoin, instead of risking to download a malicious client on your desktop

merely done with instamining, if you have another device, you can point your desktop to this vps and start solo mining on some unknown altcoin

Read your provider's TOS. 90% of the time, hosting providers do not allow users to run resource intensive scripts like miners as this would degrade other user's VM that is hosted on the same hardware. Even if they allow, the profit won't be there as you are only able to use a fraction of the total hardware. I would recommend you to either rent it out or run a traffic exchange program and sell the views earned.

I am not really sure you can do much. Are you able to sell it maybe? If yes offer it in digital goods section and try to find a buyer.

Is there any tutorial how to sell / view / buy some views earned?

I don't think it is going to bring you very much either.  I could be wrong though.   I don't think there is a lot you can do unless you happen to be using Azure or Ec2.  Both of those seem to allow mining.   But it costing more then you would make.  Only exception is if you happen to get a promo to for X free dollars use.

Unless you are using a free promo I don't think you will see any profit.  If on free it will be small profit, you will not get rich mining alt coins.  And again make sure to read TOS.  A lot will suspend your account once they see high CPU use all the time.  Most would rather have no customer then a customer who cpu mines.

You can mine btc with that. But it's not profitable and probably your vps will be closed by operator.
Since mining btc is using a lot of cpu resource. My suggestion is you can use your vps for hosting faucet or stake altcoin wallet.

The profit gained from staking altcoins is very small, unless you own a large portion of the coin and even so, only 1GB ram is needed for a wallet.

since you bought it (not rented) you can do anything with it
i recommend renting it on Digital goods section
but you must know how to manage servers and securing it

Read the ToS of the provider. Some applications might not be allowed, you wouldn't want to have what you're doing shut down. Perhaps hos a website, a server, store some files or all of those.

The more "buisness" ones such as EC2 and Azure are pretty good about allowing you to do what you want on their VPS.  But the bargin type VPS are very carefull on TOS as they just want ones who use very little resources.

One of the biggest I can think of is Digital Ocean.  They advertise all the time start with X free dollars.  Throw a miner on their server you will be suprised how quick they lock it up and ask for credentials from you for unlock (correct me if they have changed I highly doubt it).

That's true. I helped a friend of mine set up a cheap VPS for him to host a VoIP sever on it and he told me that he had to go through questioning after he filled the hard drive of the VPS with seemingly unrelated in one day.

Sadly agree, sadly because many people believe and search EASY magical way to earn coins. Its not possible.

Why not use the VPS to do something other than mining? Like a faucet or something like that? That would probably help you get a stream of profit over time, though not that much.

As said above, there won't be any profit mining with a VPS. But you could actually host a game server like Minecraft or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and then try to sell it there! Tongue
