In case of major Scrypt pool starting to merge-mine SXC that pool becomes a 51% attacker or much worse. And imagine a situation where that pool or one of pools with huge amount of hashrate stops mining for some reason, SXC difficulty would be so high that the rest of pools and solo-miners combined would need ages to create the next block. But even if doomsday scenario does not happen there would be a constant dumping of SXC by miners who basicaly get it for free, as an extra while mining LTC or whatever else Scrypt they are mining.
I was thinking it would actually stabilize the network hashrate though. If other pools could merge-mine with a coin ( or coins? ) that people mine anyway, then we'd have a sustained hash contribution. Multipools that switch in and out would have a smaller effect on the total hashrate. Am I missing something?
No support to sustain the dumps from making it merge mineable
The dumping does worry me.
