Thanks.  I just got the final image back from the artist.  He thought some unique gold drips would give it a better look.  If there are no more complaints, I believe this will be the final design.

Yes, I think that would look good on the front, and do either the "Two Minted Seats" or the address on the back.

I don't think both the "TWO MINTED SEATS" & the address on the back will be as repetitive looking as it appears in the image.  If you look at the design next to the actual 5oz coin image, you can see that the engraved public address blends into the coin, so it isn't really noticeable from a design perspective.

Gold highlighted pre-order packages are now sold out.  Quoting for posterity and to clean up the OP.  I am now opening orders for the all silver 2oz Minted Seats.  Cost is $225 with $100 of that being donated to NastyFans, shipping should commence in late January.

Well, as with any project there have been delays, delays, and more delays...  I have finally gotten all the rights to the fonts squared away with the mint and approved artwork for the dies.  They can now enter the minting phase.  I am told this will take between 6-8 weeks and then they will need to have the gold plating put on by hand.  This could push shipping of these coins back to February.  The good news is that there should be no more delays.  It also gives me more time to generate more difficult vanity addresses.

The coins have been minted, but I was not satisfied with the level of quality from the mint.  As you can see from the below picture, there are quite a few scratches on these coins.  Enough that I felt they were unacceptable.  I have asked that they be re-stamped and will continue updating on their progress.

I don't think so.  They were about 2 weeks ahead of schedule, so I think I should still be able to get them out by the end of next month.  Just my guess though.

The coins have been re-stamped and I'm told they came out beautiful.  Once the select gold plating was added, I thought it was a bit ugly for lack of a better word.  After seeing a few different gold plating options, I made the decision to change the gold plating to what is pictured below.  This piece was done quickly as an example so don't be too harsh as the finals will come out better.  I believe this is the best option for having the design maintain it's visibility.  I am predicting that these coins will be in buyers' hands by the end of January.

I thought I would be showing pictures today, but there has been another delay.  The mint accidentally gold highlighted all of the coins.  I considered accepting them, but I don't think that would be right.  The mint will now have to melt down all of the highlighted coins and re-stamp them again.  This shouldn't take that long.  Hopefully 3rd time is the charm and I have them in hand next week.

Will there be a way on the JSON API that shows the coin has the gold plating? Casascius used to incorporate it in the addresses by adding Au or Ag in the vanity address. It could add value and rarity to the preorder coins.
