You are actually true, no one will always win a gambling. Gambling can not be the main income of someone life, it should be just an additional income for someone

Practically gambling can be an additional source of income for no one. Because there is no consistent income or profit from gambling can be achieved. Even someone makes profit rarely in some days, they will lose more than that in some other day.

Actually things like Sports betting and Poker can work out for people. I have a friend who has been sports betting for the last 7 years and has been making a good steady income of 500-1000$ sometimes above monthly.

I don't completely agree. It's true that you can't win all the time but you have to make income/outcome calculation for your bets. For example you lose two 1-unit in a row but when you win another 1-unit >3 odds you can compensate your previous 2 losses. You have to calculate margins, your possible income and act like that. If you have a very good system you will probably win something. If you play without any plans you end up losing all in the long run.

Absolutely can and is main incoming for a lot of poker players. The luck factor is pretty much nullified when you put 6+ hours a day grinding. Your weekly/monthly sample size becomes so big that its pretty much impossible to face a losing month, (if you are winning player obviously)

All casinos only need time before they can clean you out.  If you notice, casinos do not have clocks and their windows are always pitch dark.  You can not tell if it is day or night.  It's just a matter of time before they will empty your pockets if you do not have the patience to leave while you're ahead.  Also, the free alcohol doesn't help either.    Wink

Yes.
The obvious reason many gamblers turn into losses in long run must be they are losing control over their emotions. Following all the plans and disciplines in long term is not possible for all the gamblers. When they are breaching their determined plan they are facing losses.

it most definitely can, there are professional poker players you know. however, i think professional gambling is mostly limited to poke, there just arent many games where a player can manage to get a consistent advantage somehow.

If you play for small amounts which you can afford to lose than you will get entertainment otherwise lot of problems only.

This is wrong. If you keep on playing small you will try and try to get bigger amount and this will become addicted. So by the time you will just growing your gambling addiction and this can't be fun or even entertain yourselves

Poker in my eyes is the best way to have a good advantage while gambling. There are also other games that have known professional players, like Blakcjack for one. If you know the proper way to play and have a good bankroll for it I think you could make some pretty steady money. Also games like craps and sportsbetting if your good at what you do, you really don't go bust much.

What ever you say, at the end one should need some luck to win money in gambling. Whether it is skill based game or pure luck based game, we don't have any sure ways that we can generate some steady money. So do not go after making money in gambling but try to enjoy the game.

That is must be true. Because, gambling can be profitable one day just because of luck and will not be profitable for some other day. So, expecting a consistent income from gambling must be a bad idea.
Interestingly most of the gamblers losing more money than what they have achieved earlier as profits.

I agree here.  However, it does take a little fast math and a whole lot of discipline.   Bankroll management is key to maintaining a working game because proper bankroll management decreases the effect of variance.  Always get your stack in good with positive expected value, never play against the odds, never put more than ten percent of your roll in play at once, and grind, grind, grind!  Volume is the secret ingredient: more open tables and longer sessions equal larger profits...the law of large numbers hasn't been proven wrong yet.

Sports gambling is a great way to test your luck. A lot of research can pay off, and though you may lose occasionally, it's more likely for you to win. I think that's probably the only way to "win" in the long run.

If you become really good at it... or ||sway|| bets, then you can make a ton of money. You just have to hope that shady stuff doesn't run down.

-snip-
I agree with you 100%.
Gambling should only be treated as entertainment (though one of my friends tries to make money with it)
It's sad when people don't understand that and buy bots, e.t.c to make a profit.
In the end it comes down to luck.

Everyone wants to get easy money and defeated or not it is not always we can get. That depends on your luck when you gamble, if you have luck you can get some profit but you need try to control yourselves before you busted all your balance

House will always have the most profits, doesn't matter how much you win. In the end you will lose more than you win.
Unless you're some kind of pro gambler and now all the strategies to keep on winning.

Have you meet in your life only one of that kind of "pro gamblers"? Have you seen in your life only one of that kind of species? Or you have seen them only on the Hollywood movies. I bet that is only the second option. Because cannot be "pro" someone in something when the word "pro" have no meaning. To be "pro" mean to be professional. How can be possible to be professional in something who want only LUCK and nothing else? Except some rare games played face to face or only with your own which maybe have to do a little with some knowledge or psychology (but that have nothing to do with the being or naming the players as "pro") all the other kind of gambling at casinos or in online gambling sites want only LUCK. That doesn't mean at all that someone of them named above, independently in which of groups is classified, including here all the other possible gamblers of every kind, are immune from the lose for sure in long term. The latest named end is inevitable for everyone who gamble. For to many reasons. To name some, addiction and proud to be invincible firsts and then the satisfaction that is proven in lose money or the desire to be within a casino only to be here and to feel part of the world of gambling.

'Pro' means you do make a living by gambling. Whether it's down to luck or skills is not that relevant.

Out of curiosity, would you say that brain-surgeries cannot be classed as profession as there's always some luck factor involved, with some of procedures having only small % chances of going right.

There's also huge difference between playing 'luck' games (dice, roulette etc) and poker or sport betting.

I have the honor to have e Hero Member who give to me the needed explanations about my post.

Finally, at least one has explained what is a pro in gambling. So a pro in gambling is someone you make so much money with gambling that are enough to live him and his family and have even much more to gamble again the next night or day in order to have other money to maintain his family etc .... Every day this thing. Very hard to learn such things... But I will try. At least have a source full of arguments about the meaning of the "pro" in gambling. The above post quoted by me.

So, for one thing we can be sure: such species exist. Is argued in a undeniable way (full of facts) by the poster quoted by me. And we also know from the devastating facts given always by the poster quoted by me that the pro can be everyone independently from the source which give the name the pro as such. The luck or the skill. So not even exist the pro but exist even the pro who come from luck and the pro who come from skills. In other words we have a pro who take his luck always with himself when go at the casino to gamble and order to it, every day, to earn money in order that him deserve the name pro. Then we have the worker pro. That who order to his skills again to earn every night and day at the casino in order that him deserve the name worker pro.

Fantastic explanations. Full of arguments. Who can have the courage to think to discuss such arguments.

But nothing above can be compared with the comparison made a few down. The gambler is like the brain surgery doctor. Practically are the same person. We have a pro luck and a pro worker. Or maybe even a Big Pro who have luck and skills together (even this must be taken with to many reserves because is not mentioned at the analytical, devastating, factual, undeniable argumentation of the poster quoted by me). Then we have a doctor which have some skills and some luck and use those to make him capable to make brain surgery. Same as the Big Pro. Wow. Must be easy to be a doctor. Go some time in casino, go pro and here we are. You are a brain-surgery doctor. How many important and new things can be learned following savants here in bitcointalk. How many pearls can be learned reading their posts.

And at the end everyone must be sure that at poker and at the sport betting cannot be lose never money even if you are not pro. Because when you are pro have any kind of importance if you gamble or put money in bets. You always win. The problem are the simple people like who are not pro. But here we are the owners of the bet stations or bet points, or bet bars, or whatever bet can be who think for us. Only for us. Have you need for money. Go to one of the previous, do a bet (with not "luck" games) and will have your money. Piece of cake. Here can win everyone. Are not "luck" games. (sorry for the quotes of word "luck" - that to tell the right don't know why are used - but must respect the expression of the explainer). But are not only the above owners who care for us. But every person involved in the bet:  the players of the match, the referees, the FIFA, UEFA and all the other initiates who belong to the world of the bet world (in other words not the "luck" games). They before make e decision about the results of a match have all the needed info how ill be the result of it and then realize it. If are bets who are in opposite with each other make two matches with two different results and accept both as a formal result of that match. So everyone has their promised money from the not "luck" money (I will ask the name of those when will have the fortune to have a reply from the poster quoted by me - cannot be named simply named: not "luck" games).

I have not desire even to laugh.

There are games of skill, such as chess.  There are games of chance, such as dice.  And, there are games of skill and chance, such as poker.  What is unique about a game of skill and chance is that the strategy is modified by how skillfully one interprets, manipulates, and anticipates their opponents behavior surrounding the part of the game that is unknown. There are many professional poker players.

While it is possible to make money gambling at a casino, you certainly shouldn't count on it. Luckily for the casinos, some gamblers do count on it – and some even think they have the winning method down, when all that method will get them is broke.

Totally agree with you except:

1. We are talking about gambling so there have no place for the chess in your post. Have nothing to do with gambling. If we will talk about all the possible games in existence all the thread would have only on e post: the list of games. Here we are talking only about the gambling. Gambling is totally another dangerous thing compared to the non gambling games (whatever can be) and have no meaning to put these in this kind of discussion.

2. You forget, when talk about gambling games, a very important characteristic (and even specific one - so only few things have this kind of characteristic) of those. The ability to create addiction. Created in almost all gamblers after gambling for a long time and/or for win (like must do the "pro"). Addiction in this kind of activity is the most dangerous one because give not only one but two bad (the worst ones) consequences. Disease (lost of health) and financial ruin. Whatever can be the gambling game create addiction if frequented for a long time and for win money. Scientifically proved and verified. The players of poker cannot go out of this scheme. But even yes, will be always a new player better than the previous one. The old player cannot accept never that the new one will be a better player than him. So will continue to play with the conviction that one day will be him the winner. In this way he will lost all the won money. Where is the pro here? Don't forget that I accepted your point of view. Thing this that is not true.

May exist only a few those who can go out of the above situations. Thing this that cannot be or used never as an example to justify in some way the gamble. For every kind of gamble with any kind of characteristics, specifics had or needed. Never.
