Can you delete your joke then?  Thanks!

Of course I will delete my post. I was unaware that you were looking to acquire BTC to pay for a new sense of humour.

Funny, my sense of humor is just fine.  I just don't like trolling as the first comment on a serious post.   Could you please delete it?

Deleted.

However i would say that it is a gun. You call it a marker but that is just semantics. It is gun shaped and it shoots things.

If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, its a fucking duck.

by that logic, a "dick " would be a gun, gun shaped and shoots projectiles. This is a marker, not a gun. As far as symantics go, hyperbole is the norm these days.
Hyperbole = the use of exaggeration as a rhetorical device or figure of speech. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, hence the work "GUN".

By the way, that is a nice marker! wish i hadn't spent all my coins on upgrades.

Well you must have an odd shaped penis if it looks like this gun/marker.

It is a gun, you just call it something else.

From wikipedia "A paintball marker, also known as a paintball gun..."

In addition, search for paintball marker and there are just under 3 million results, search for paintball gun and there are just under 7million results. Now it isnt a scientific study im sure you will agree, but it does support the view that the preferred nomenclature of this type of item is gun and not marker.

First off, just because Wikipedia says something doesn't mean it is correct.   "Also known as" doesn't mean "is".    Search results are just that, based on a computer and human algo.

Thank you for removing that by the way.  Some people freak out about that stuff.

Ok but i play paintball and everyone i know refers to them as paintball guns. I never hear them referred to as markers. Perhaps because i am in the UK and you are in the USA (?) where you need to clarify the difference with a firearm.

Most people call them "markers" that avidly play paintball, most people that call them "guns" here, are very casual players.   How are the fields over there?  I am in Washington State so I bet we have similar paintball seasons and grounds?

The industry just started calling them "markers"... well, maybe sometime in the late 90s IIRC.  My buddy from HS opened up shop in LA (I&I Paintball or some shit) and he was pissed that there was a whole movement to try to make paintball guns politically correct by calling them "markers" lol.

Down in the SE of US. WE play all year long, well except during hunting season, unless we can get out to a farmers house who likes to play also. Summers are BRUTAL here, but winter time is great! 100 degrees in the swamp during summer, ACK, but it is fun!. Been calling these markers since early 90's.

Late 90's is over a decade in my book.    Yeah it is the "PC" term for sure.   It sure doesn't feel like a "mark" when you get hit by one Smiley

A lot of old-schoolers *HATE* the term "marker" because it has undertones that say "Hey, this isn't really a gun.  So therefor you don't need to practice proper gun safety when handling one.  Because it's NOT a gun!  It's more like a toy!  It's a MARKER, not a gun!"

I played competitively for 2 years in Georgia and I concur. Casual players/renters called them guns. Serious players called them markers. I also own several guns and my markers are not guns. Firearm handling safety rules apply to markers but markers are not guns. Perhaps the scarcity of firearms in the UK hasn't necessitated differentiating markers from firearms. Parents are more open to paintball when guns aren't mentioned. Funny how words work.

Down in the SE of US. WE play all year long, well except during hunting season, unless we can get out to a farmers house who likes to play also. Fond memories of playing around Atlanta in the summer and drinking gallons of water to keep from dying of the heat. I sure don't miss the humidity.

Not sure how old an old-schooler is. I played 1999-2005 with competitive play the last 2 years. I've always called them markers but I've also always stressed firearm handling safety rules be applied to markers. I think the difference is whether you play on a structured field or out in the woods with your buddies.
