More than 10 till now.

wow, I appreciate it Smiley
You made 10 people join the bitcoin comunity, I'm sure it's not easy, because I was still difficult to invite people to join

Yes I also find more difficulties to motivate to use bitcoin. My friend were trying to discourage myself from not to invest in bitcoin. But I'm not ready to listen to them. Time will answer who is right and wrong.

Ive tried to introduce bitcoin to my firends many times
But they just dont trust internet when it comes to
Something that involves money. I even showed them
How much I make every month, and they said
You will probably get scammed sooner or later.

This may happen to everybody. Even my spouse argue with me for not more investing into bitcoin. But I'm not ready to listen to. People will turn to our way only after we achieve something. Till that, we need to listen them but act by our own.

you don't need to show them how much money you make. you have to explain them what bitcoin is and how it is different from banks and other financial services. there are only benefits.

You also shouldn't be pushy. For example, I suggest to the people around me and if they show interest, then I start bombarding them with additional informations.

In the beginning when I started talking to people about Bitcoin, I insisted too much and thought that everybody should listen and be interested. Then I learned that I am actually causing the countereffect with the people to the point that they started making fun of me after some time. I guess this was their self defense mechanism so I would just stop talking about the damn Bitcoin! Smiley

I recommended Bitcoin to 5 of my friends, but only the nerdiest accepted to dig a bit more in Bitcoin. Even if he was nerdy, computer-lover and everthing that goes with it, it was hard and it took me a few monthes to make him a dedicated Bitcoin fan and the process isn't finished yet ! This shows that Bitcoin is still strange for "normal" people  Sad...

My friends did get heavily into things like dice, and money pot though so they mostly wasted their Bitcoin holdings just gambling.

One of my friends quit his job and well all-in crypto, I think he's surviving by the skin of his teeth.. Others have been more responsible.

Its really hard to explain to family the benefits of Bitcoin though. They think that Bitcoin is some fake internet money and is worth nothing.

Well I started mining BTC on Oct 18th 2014. BTC the day it was on was exactly 150 usd and I think it was 1 BTC a day.

Six weeks later (a couple days after thanksgiving I think it was mon or tues) BTC was (if I remember correctly) 1100 usd a btc.

So ALL MY FRIENDS KNEW ABOUT BITCOIN THEN I was one HAPPY Newbie!

Er ...now ...er not so much Sad

On the other hand ..the friends that I told about Bitcoin back then ..the ones I see like 3x a year ...all come up to me and snicker about how

I must have lost my shirt in Bitcoin from the 1100 buck drop to 240 usd or some such (see they paid attention they follow the btc price)

Somehow they manage after the above 'slam' to look insulted when I tell them I'm about 10k ahead due to the fact I MINED all my BTC and LTC

they get all sullen and leave..one even said I should have explained it better

but no one around here ...the consensus is btc is evil in 2013 my bank sic'd the SEC on me on a bank error saying i paid 99k on my 10k or so knc miner to Sweden
so I had to file with IRS as biz (proved error they would have got IRS after me but already filed)
...have yet to pay taxes on any crypto due to equip depreciation so again lucky....but still)

and the plumber I asked about taking out some old black 1920's gas line out of my basement asked what the asic machines were I said bitcoin miners
he blurted out 'oh you use that to buy drugs' and have not seen him since not managed to get another plumber to do the work (maybe they have a facebook page?)

last point only contact was 2 big biz's in area who got slam'd with a btc ransom..they paid with btc i sold them ...got nothing for their 500 buck ransom ..got stiffed....

so yeah if BTC or crypto if it makes it in Minnesota it will be the last place on earth it will happen Sad

Well I tried to recommend bitcoin and bitcointalk to some of my friends and they were like man it's too slow, this is virtual money, you can't make good amount of money and if you did don't forget to give up the party. So finally they did not accepted the bitcoin.
