Okay, this post is for those say that cat are not loyal... Smiley

People who was keeping cats with year and say that cats are not loyal is because they have never understand their character. Cats are one of the rare animals who sometime love to be alone. Not because they don't like you or they there is other thing, but its because they devote some time with them self.

Cats belongs in to group of home animals, but unlike the dogs, they are prepare at any moment to live without their owner. This doesn't mean that they don't love him, but that they are capable to continue their live on their own.

Here is another fact that makes cats more unique animals. Do you know that the best cure for you heart are the vibrations of the cat? Cheesy

I am having cats all my live. There are 3 cats in the room at the moment. I am like cat's psychologist. Yes, they are not loyal and they got bound to the house but not to the owner.

Their behavior mainly depends on their hunger (like all creatures) and absence or availability of food : )
If your cat is with the size of its predecessors (big) you can be sure it will eat you at no time.

I didn't said the cats are bad and yes you are right the owner need to understand them well.

As Chinese like to say: It is not important if the cat is black or white is important to hunt mice : ))

I like both. They are different with own advantages and disadvantages so they are not replaceable.
The cats are not loyal and the dogs can protect you.
Fishes are cool too.

Even though cats can't protect you it doesn't mean they are not loyal. Cats were also proven faithful to their owners.

I think he meant dogs are selfless in that they will give their life for you.  Some cats seem to want to take my life!

I'd  choose cats rather than dogs because a cat is close to my heart.

I am partial to cats but as everyone has said it really depends upon your personality, what kind of space you have available, etc.

Great pros and cons are listed above but I have one additional suggestion. Go to your local SPCA or animal adoption facility and make use of their "sitting/introduction rooms". These are slightly larger than a closet and enable you to spend a little time with the animal in question and interact for a few minutes. You can usually use them for up to an hour or so. Select a few dogs and cats and spend a little time with them on a trial basis. Often times you will make an emotional connection with one animal or another or a certain animal will just "feel right", like he/she belongs with you. I have had this experience many times. The only problem is that in these introduction rooms the animal is sometimes freaked out due to being in an unfamiliar space with an unfamiliar person and it may take some time to get a sense for that animal's personality. Good luck!
