The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Which country you're in is a factor in the ease of accepting payments if you want to convert them to your local currency. If you just want to accept Bitcoin and keep it then it doesn't really matter where you are.

Most people use a payment processor. The biggest two are https://bitpay.com/ and https://www.coinbase.com/merchants

They'll give you the plugins to be able to accept coins via your site and they can instantly convert them to USD or whatever if that's what you want, or keep a proportion or all in Bitcoin.

You might need to make some noise via Bitcoin forums to get some sales. The rest of the world isn't too familiar with it.

Thanks for your fast response!!! Cheesy

I'll check out those two processors right now.

I would probably be keeping a small % of the bitcoin. (personal saving) and converting the rest.

I plan on posting the website once i have it complete. Which should be tonight or tomorrow.

I will suggest you to not use or change now any bitcoin and to preserve all those if you do not have need to convert those now. The value of bitcoin is expected to arrive in to many high levels. So, if this it will be confirmed or verified, you will have later much more profits than the change of those now. There are factors that increase to much the probability that such increase of value of bitcoin be verified. So the question might be not "if" but "when".

For me, put your bitcoins in a secure wallet, and forget about those. Try to increase the amount but use those, at least and normally, after e few years. Maybe even sooner... Everything is possible with it....  Wink

I registered on Bitpay.

used their HTML button for my website, however, when i click on the button, it does open a window for bitpay to pay via bitcoin but there isn't any options to add shipping details.

EDIT:

nevermind, i see i have to use some sort of extra coding for that.

Would it be ok to just ask buyers to email their shipping information?

Not sure i can code the cart to accept the bitcoin/shipping information...

I've used sites that have integrated Coinbase. In that case the shipping options and payment were all done within the site I was buying from. I assume Bitpay is the same as they've nothing to do with shipping. Drop them an email and see what's what.

I will do that. I'll check out Coinbase to see if its easier with them.

If you have some free time, this is what i have so far on the website. (going to add some shirts with the bitcoin logo on the sleeve)

(Supported with bitcoin)

Here is the link. I'm going to keep it lowkey until its 100% but it wouldn't hurt for a few people to look at it.

Yep use BITPAY, but man, you also need to get people interested in bitcoin to your site.

Depends where your traffic comes from, but you should advertise it with bitcoin ad networks too and then you will get bitcon people interested in your store.

Coinbase, Circle, and Xapo are also good wallet options - perfect for a business.

Will you advertise/sell your shirts on this Forum? You could post adds in the Goods section...

neither of those are what I would classify as wallets; if you don't control the private keys, you dont really have full control of your coins. as far as im concerned, coinbase and circle are just exchanges that you can use to store your bitcoin in.

consider using a HD wallet such as bitcoin core, electrum, multibit, or armory to have fulll control of any and all coins you receive.
https://www.bitcoin.com/choose-your-wallet

as for web wallets, i would not recommend using blockchain.info, there have been thefts in the past and will likely be in the future. xapo isnt a what I would consider a web wallet either, since you do not control the private keys.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

I would suggest you as well that you first learn a bit about Bitcoin and to get familiar with the technology. Then decide would this help your shop and is this even for you. What's good for your friend doesn't mean it will suit you.

Welcome on board!

i would say it depends which merchant software you are using for your shop. Most software already offers plugins for Bitcoin paying processors like Bitpay or Coinbase.

Yep you can add Bitcoin payments to your site and by doing so you are helping the community in taking it to mainstream adoption. You can also have other additional cryptocoins as payment method in your site.

After you get your Bitcoin, you should keep them safe on a desktop wallet. I recommend Electrum.

I was getting some hate on my t-shirt designs because they are simple. I made them that way because i am actually making this myself by hand. And cutting stencils out for my ink it hard enough as it is, let alone some hard ass design....

May rethink the bitcoin integration.

Don't just give up like that just because some people hates your design.

Try to marketing your online shop into your local country first, make some proof that people loves your design and buy your t-shirt.

And start selling here again  Wink

Yeah, you're right. The designs are pretty simple. However, they are simple for a reason, lol.

I hand make these.

Here is my process:

1) Design

2) draw out the design

3) stencil the design on a sheet of silk-screen

4) Make frame for screen

5) Ink the shirt(s)

6) let dry, sell, ship etc

I'm thinking about offering some other sort of item, like sculptures, jewelry etc.. Designed to fit bitcoin/crypto in general.

I actually have a Bitcoin watch ( a few designs) however, with btc being so low right now, i don't see anyone willing to spend .6-1.2 for a watch per say.
