What's stopping people from using bitcoin?

I think that makes people stop using bitcoin is they afraid at price very volatile.
Also bitcoin has too many negative news, like bitcoin is used for drugs, weapons, money laundry.

thats true, when people hear the news about the bitcoin on tv or read about it in newspapers they immediately start to think that it is used only for doing bad things

i think that also people are afraid of the big price fluctuations that sometimes makes people lose a lot of their money, though they should also understand that they can earn with it

First of tell me how many people around  you have heard about bitcoin or how many of them know that bitcoin is a currency, I bet no one knows it and that is the reason they are not using it as simple as that.

i think if they see that bitcoin is scam maybe they are stopping to use bitcoin as money.. i just also heard it many times for some people here that ponzi schem or investment site is the reason why some people are stopping using it..

Majority of people are not aware about bitcoin, and people who knows it will hesitate in reinvesting if price falls back, so these are two major reasons people don't like to use it.

I think that people think that Bitcoin is just to much work and do not even bother with using Bitcoin. Or they think that it is not that reliable and that it is not 100% trust worthy. I can understand why people think this.

sorry I thought you were wrong earlier when he often uses bitcoin and he will stop using bitcoin as much work I think he can still use bitcoin or trade bitcoin using mobile phone.

I often hear the news on television that bitcoin is often used for illegal activities and if you invest in bitcoin possibility of losing very large. even your money could be reduced by more than 30% in one day. I saw it on tv.

pure negativity. the media is exactly the same as here. when they here cover bitcoin related news, it's always bad. bitcoin is the currency of the deep web and criminals. bitcoin is being used to finance terrorism. bla bla bla. the last 2 years it's only bad news that they release. the media is trying to brainwash people. other than that i really don't know why they do this.

yeah, i agree with the idea that people dont like to use it because it is possible to lose a lot of bitcoins in just a few days so they are scared of investing to it in my opinion

You are definitely right. I experienced this thing about "missing the boat". A friend of mine that I am urging to use bitcoin as an investment says it is like too late for him. I always tell him that there is no such thing as late in bitcoin. We dont know what could happen in the upcoming days or weeks.

Yeah those media are really trying to put down bitcoin but they will have to do a better job and bring up also the good news that bitcoin can bring to the economy.

the trend has been changing lately it is not like before any more, especially in other countries except USA.
the media and the government has been more accepting towards bitcoin in some countries for example Japan is considering announcing bitcoin as a real currency.
