I'd say aprox a quarter of whats stopping people from using Bitcoin is the media made conception that Bitcoin is associated with criminal activity.

There are actually a lot of reasons stopping people from using bitcoin but you are right, that is a big reason in some places where media is working dawn to dusk to kill the positive concept of bitcoin from the minds of people, and the people who were never aware about it are believing it with blind eyes without doing their own research about bitcoin.

Well I am pretty sure that media is controlled by the government. They want to take it down rather than accepting or adapt it. This currency is free and they dont want any people to be free. Democracy is a joke it is just a reason for government to steal from people. Yeah freedom of stealing.

Ignorance plays a big role indeed. I have experienced several people around me that thought to know for sure that Bitcoin was the currency of the underworld. That was their reason to not use or learn more about Bitcoin. It's the media that is brainwashing people as they take everything that comes from the media for granted. It took me a lot effort to explain them what Bitcoin really is and how it can help them securing their wealth and stuff. They finally showed some interest instead of disliking Bitcoin directly.

This is so true. I know people to this say who say Bitcoin is failed or Bitcoin is only used by sketchy people etc even when companies like Steam now take Bitcoin for payment and  the whole Coinbase-Paypal deal.

Yes indeed possible in some countries prohibit crypto like bitcoin for violating the rules. It is going to make bitcoin difficult to develop. But I believe bitcoin will evolve and users are still using bitcoin.

Yeah that will consider another reason on why people stopped using bitcoin but i think there is a big reason like getting scammed (because of the HYIPs that manipulated them to invest all their btc) and financial loss (like getting negative profit because of panic selling because the price of bitcoin in their time is continue dropping).
