What's stopping people from using bitcoin?

I'm wondering what's stopping people from using bitcoin?

And now I'm talking about people who already aware of bitcoin and how it works but still not using it.

The price is now pretty much stable for more then a year, security issues are out of the question - so why we can't see in 2015 more companies switching to it, especially considering the unstable condition of moden economy?

idont think they will stop using bitcoin specially when the bitcoin price will go rise more . but the reason you will stop using bitcoin when your multiple times got scammed and lost more money just the only reason to stop using it or bitcoin will going to dead.

That is really frustrating when people are getting victimized a lot of times with scam sites. I don't know if they are the reason why they are getting victimized again and again and they are not learning the lesson at all.

I sure if the scam sites become an important reason to make people stop using bitcoin because they always losing their amount and not getting their money back. and require them to put new funds to investment. I will feel depression if that's happened in myself.

That is really true, it can really cause someone to stop using in bitcoin if he is always losing their money and got victimized by those scam sites.
But it is much better if he is going to learn the lesson about it.
So that in the future you can already avoid those scam sites and you know what to do.

Yes people are indeed not investing in the bitcoin and stopping with the bitcoin because of all these scammers and ponzis that are taken place.

Yes people are indeed not investing in the bitcoin and stopping with the bitcoin because of all these scammers and ponzis that are taken place.

Well of course they are going to stop when they run out of funds in gambling. But I think even they are going to lose they are not going stop using bitcoin. Especially when rage comes to them.
They tend to get back their losses from gambling so they are not going to stop.

That should not be the reason to stop but it can be for others. They did it their own risk and they dont have to blame bitcoin for losing. Might as well learn from that mistake.

yeah but it may also be one of cons of it,i think that also stops people from using bitcoin.
They are scared that some anonymous people will steal they money,and they will not get caught.

NO. Bitcoin isn't anonymous. It's pseudonymous. You can clearly see where your bitcoins went at any given time. You can then follow them for as long as you want. Someone always owns that address but the name/IP attached may not lead you to the culprit as quickly as you wanted.


How to protect your bitcoins though? Don't ever use online wallets. Coinbase.com, blockchain.info, Xapo wallet. Just don't use these centralized wallets. There's no need to. If you're looking for great security then you should make paper wallets on an Ubuntu Live USB. This way you know you don't have any malware as its a brand new fresh OS each time you use it.

Well yaa Scam sites are one of the reason to stop people from using bitcoins. But the experience can us cautious and wise. People should also acknowledge the good side of using bitcoins. I also believe that the conservative mind of many people is keeping them away from bitcoins. They don't see bitcoins as assets.

Lets say the most people dont know bitcoin, i dont know no one at my region that knows bitcoin, or had read about it. Media are hiding bitcoin from public, only online people as we are able to search about bitcoin and make their decisions.

Media isn't hiding bitcoin to the public. I have a friend that works in one of the biggest media outlets and her position is quite high. I asked her about bitcoins and she said she'd already have heard of it, but there isn't anything interesting to report about it just yet. Or at least that's what she said.

As for me, I think it is the awareness of majority of the people in this world that is stopping people from using bitcoins. Because why would you risk on something that is not generally acceptable. The second reason is the price spread? The difference between the buying and the selling. Since the value  of bitcoin is high it means that the spread between the buying and the selling is also high which gives us unecessary losses.

YEah Digitalbitcoin you  are so right. There are countries whose government are restricting the use of bitcoins in their countries for some reasons.  In addition to that if there are countries who are allowed by their governments to use bitcoins, still the people are not using it since they are lack of knowledge about it and they don't know the opportunities in using bitcoins. But I hope someday, this things will get resolved.

Exactly, lack of knowledge is a big issue here, as many people have not even heard about bitcoin so its difficult to expect that they will start using it.

Yeah lack of knowledge seems the issue why people doubting to use bitcoin and they are afraid to stake with it because they are afraid to lose their money because they dont know where to go and where to ask if they have problems about bitcoin and some other people are not really aware to it and seems it new to their eyes.

It is not lack of knowledge but lack of faith that prevent people from using bitcoin.Even a person with good understanding of blockchain and crypto technology may be skeptical about Bitcoin.Faith and knowledge are two completely different things

As for me, it is both. Lack of knowledge and lack of faith. Because since the people dont have any faith when it comes to this type of currency, they don't bother to find out what it really is and the opportunities in it. Or since the people are lack of knowledge about it, they can have their faith in it. Which is really applicable in real life situation. Like for example, how can you trust someone whom you doesn't know much yet right?
