Hi all,

I'm attempting to build a list of public historical documents about "digital cash" but only have a few entries.  I wasn't sure where to post this, but this seems like the right place.  Help me add to this list?  Any relevant entries will be added to this main post; if possible, please include a short description.

How to Make a Mint: The Cryptography of Anonymous Electronic Cash
Year: 1996
Origins: NSA, "Laurie Law, Susan Sabett, Jerry Solinas"
Description: The Cryptography Division of the NSA summarizes current beliefs about digital cash implementations, showing the frustration involved with the invention of the original bitcoin and concluding that only half-steps are possible for the time being.

The Cyphernomicron
Year: 1993
Origins: Cypherpunk mailing list, 'Timothy C. May'
In this document, many of the principles of the cypherpunks are spelled out and the potential development and ramifications of cryptography advances over the next several decades are explored.

Amazing list, and it looks like I have some work cut out for me once I get home - sadly this isn't accessible on my work computer.

A great idea; thanks.  I'll look at the Cryptonote whitepaper too.

Why not include the Bitcoin whitepaper itself? Since bitcoins are the first decentralized digital scarce medium of exchange, and that should be the definition of "cryptocurrency". Though that term is abused so much it might as well include fiat currencies.

By their (dumb) fruits shall ye know them indeed...
