how can I cold storage IOTAs?

Remember your seed. That's all - so simple  Smiley

Will we ever be able to use more than 81 characters for our precious seed?

Dude, do the math. How many possible seeds exist with 27 chars, 81 length?

SO umm, yes then?

My point was: Noone will ever need a seed longer than 81 chars.

Hmmm. Some time ago I was told:
"No one will need more than 637 kB of memory for a personal computer"

not 100% sure but the analogy is if you can guess 81 random characters, then you can just guess all crypto private keys there is, so no point going higher.

Is it possible to increase computing power as fast as memory size? na

At that time we had single processors without math coprocessors and round about a maximum of 40 Mhz. So it actually relates.
But I guess we still have many years of time.

Were the results, conclusions, etc. of the stresstest posted anywhere?  I asked before looking, but please drop a link if you have it handy!   Smiley

Initial results suggested 100+ cTPS. They say that a full report is in the works.

Yes, I even saw it passed 200 TPS at some point on the stresstest page.  I will wait for the full report, thanks!

We will do a thorough report after more testing, there was a bug in one of the test runs, which incidentially gave us insight into how the Tangle operates even under extremal conditions.

Is there a web wallet for this thing yet? Or some way to secure my balance without using the confusing-as-hell wallet?

You dont need to sync the light wallet. Here you can DL the light-wallet, afterwards use one server from this list http://www.iotasupport.com/lightwallet.shtml
