Isn''t repeated posts considered spamming?

So I recently noticed some threads specially in the beginners & help section. There are questions which are answered by different people yet they are all saying the same thing, they are just rephrasing the whole thing. Shouldn't that be considered spamming? Also can those be reported or not?

Isn't this the fault of the person asking the question, instead of the one answering it? Or do you mean one person asks a question, and a ton of people answer this same question, but they all say exactly the same thing?

I was referring to the ones who is answering it.  Yes one person ask and it gets answered by tons of people who is just explaining the same shit all over.

Also those people could not be reading the previous posts so yea, I think those kind of stuffs should not be allowed right?

Somebody asks a question => i'm the first to read the question and want to help the asker => i make a long post, explaining everything in detail => i click submit, but see the warning that somebody else already replyd => i click submit without reading the reply that was created while i was also making my reply => afterwards i notice that what i said is almost the same as the previous reply => i leave my text as it is, since i put a lot of time and effort into creating it, and i didn't just copy/paste the previous reply, the "spam" was unintentional

I can understand that these replys would be subject to deletion tough

Well I get annoyed so I had to ask here. I tried reporting some posts to mods and yea, I think they wouldn't delete it.

In cases were the OP's question has got the appropriate answer and somebody else will just repeat the answer just for the sake of getting another extra post count (Those enrolled in signatures especially) then In my opinion is a spam post rather than a contributing one as the question has been answered already but in cases were the OP still haven't understood the answer's and still looking for better or rather further explanation then a post that will explain in easier language even with the same overall meaning could be a contributing one as long as the OP understand it finally

A important thing here would say it that it also doesn't really matter how users see it. It matters how the moderator who is judging the post sees it. There are people who are much softer and people who are stricter like me and Mitchell. I never understood why people complain about only a few of their posts being deleted.

Tried reporting a lot of it these past few days, and I just made my reporting accuracy down to a good 82% It is pretty subjective in the eyes of the reader and the moderators as well. There are cases when the op still can't catch the idea of what others have already posted and still needs some clarification on the matter.

True thats why I don't bother with those kind of posts, and my post accuracy is still 98%(closing on 99% now). To OP, a person may have different opinion on a question asked by someone, but many people may hold the same opinion about the same thing as well so in a way they are contributing to the discussion by stating their opinion on the subject which shows the collective opinion of the forum. AN example f this would be "How to earn in this forum" posts where most people will reply Signature campaign, just because they answered late doesn't mean their opinion isn't unique and shouldn't be seen as one.

Correct. It really depends on who is handling it. I rarely even mark reports as bad. That's the only soft side of me, I let someone else do it (especially when not sure). Read this post by BadBear. I do delete such posts especially if they aren't really constructive. In my opion a person could combine everything in a single post and thus they should not be doing this.
People need to change their habits. I have a tendency to update my post and reply to people under me to avoid clutter.

No, I understand whar you mean clearly.

I understand but doesn't that make the latter posts with the same thought on it redundant? I understand that they also want to contribute but then I guess atleast reading through the comments could also help, I mean if they think their suggestion isn't there yet then they could add it up not just repeat the same thought in a jumbled sentences.

I often leave a reply to a post if I want to add few more tips or websites that the OP can visit and the tips are different from the ones recommended earlier. I also notice repeating the same thing over and over again without reading the earlier posts which can be considered spamming but in that case, there are newbies who keep posting the same question like "How to earn bitcoins" "PayPal chargeback" and so on which leads to so many similar threads. I wish there is an option introduced wherein when we create a thread and enter the title, we should get a list of similar titles and a warning to not create a similar thread and refer to the earlier ones created. Also, people who keep asking for escrow in most of the Currency Exchange and Digital Goods serction should rerain rom doing so as it's just to spam. They aren't interested in buying the product so them posting there is just useless.

Something that might help to prevent this is to educate members that they should lock a thread they opened once it has served its purpose.

So if you open a thread to ask a question then make sure you lock the thread once you have received the answer(s) you were looking for. That will prevent others from making a 1 page thread a 5 page thread.

There is no limit of free speech, no censorship, nothing. This should pretty much explain it:

People are failing to follow even the simplest of rules and I've actually seen an increasing number of newbies posting these "updates" now. It's pretty clear that people have started abusing this. Wherever I see this, I delete their posts and leave the first one (e.g. if three posts in a row, delete the second and third one).

I also notice repeating the same thing over and over again without reading the earlier posts which can be considered spamming..

Typically, yes. There are a lot of things considered when moderating posts like that. A lot of it has to do with intention. To a certain extent, having a post deleted is a punishment and a warning. Posts are only deleted when 100% necessary. For example, if someone poses a question, and two people answer with similar responses within seconds of each other, rather than that being spam, I'd see it more as confirmation that the information first posted was correct. By that I mean, if people are intentionally just rephrasing, or adding no additional info, it is indeed spam. Its typically very obvious whether or not people are spamming from a moderators perspective because we see it so incredibly often. Don't worry about your accuracy. If you are >50% you are doing the moderators a favor, if you are accurate 1 in 10 times, you are wasting more of our time than helping.

I don't think you can penalise noobs for posting anything in the beginners & help section. They're noobs so they're probably not going to read through other pages to find answers to things they want to know.

They have a question or two so they start a thread to get answers. I don't have an issue with it, do you?

Depends on the question. 99 times out of 10 it's either 'how do I get free bitcoins?' or 'how do I earn bitcoins?'.

You'd have to be pretty goddamn dim not to notice the twenty other threads with the exact same question on the exact same page.

However if people are happy to keep answering then maybe it gives the OP warm feelings in their heart. I can get behind that.
