Magic won over Celtics - 116-108. Solidifying their position at 7th spot (tied with Nets 41-40). It was a comeback win by Magic erasing a 13-point first-half deficit. But obviously, even with that lost, Boston remains at 4th spot.

Magic deserves a win and in the playoffs, I don't know how many coach changes they have in the last 6 years but I'm sure their fans is very happy seeing them clinching the 7th spot.
After a long 7 years and x number of coach changes the Magic are assured to be back in the playoffs. Thanks to Aaron Gordon for his 40 points and 14 rebounds, he just showed up for this must win game for them. Is coach Vogel deserving to be the coach of the year for what he have done with the Magic? In my opinion, i think so.

I remember the 2009 playoffs very well when the Magic defeated the Cavaliers to advance to the NBA finals vs the Lakers.  That team was a real force with Dwight Howard at center and their high percentage 3 point shooters.  In basketball you can easily turn your team around with only one superstar player.

Might be a good start for this franchise to be back to it's playoffs birth, they can have now good attentions and having another year to rebuild the
line ups, it's hard for such team to only have one single star while competitors already have big three of more, this win gives them good year to
start bringing fans being interested again for this team.

Well, I must say welcome to Magic! Where talents in here are beginning yet they are trading all of those talents. Dwight Howard is a powerful stretch 5 and he's really good at the time he was a Magic player. But, the time he was traded, that's when his talents started to fade. They threw him and Victor Oladipo who's now a superstar in Indiana.

No prob ball today with the college Final 4 commencing today but Im already taking a look at tomorrows card.
Golden State has clinched #1 and play at New Orleans which is a team who cant make the playoffs.
Warriors will rest their star players so possibly a good spot for the home dog catching double digits if thats the line.

~snipped~

PG was really impressive but does his journey to the MVP will be affected by their team's recent performance?

Back when Russell Westbrook became season MVP, their team sit on the 6th spot. Got destroyed by the Houston Rockets 4-1 in the first round of the playoffs. James Harden is a MVP contender too that time but still lost on Russell Westbrook on MVP race. People make it controversial when Westbrook got the MVP since they believed James Harden should be the MVP as Houston Rockets played well better. Really a closed stats but in the end Westbrook have better one.

So the answer is, PLAYER STATS in the whole season is they key no matter how worst the team's performance is.

Anyways, PG is not closed even on top 1 and 2 on the current MVP race so we can take him out now on the list.*

Spurs is definitely a good team but they do not even have a full squad to be honest with you. Dejounte Murray is their starting point guard and I know he is young and all but dude is all-nba defense type of guy so if anyone has a chance at stopping Curry (which I believe no one can but at least they could try) its Dejounte Murray. Now they are gonna play with people like Derrick White which is a new player (his second year I think?) and Lonnie Walker which is a rookie with patty mills and Bellineli helping.

For a team that has Curry and Klay that is not remotely enough. Don't get me started on Durant which can't be guarded by anyone in the league at all. So if Spurs can become 7th somehow that is great but if they end up at 8th seed like everyone expects thats an early exit for sure.

Yes, they are trying to escape a sweep from GSW but I do think Spurs have a better chance of winning than OKC.

Pops have some discipline when it comes to defense while OKC is more of an offensive team. Let us face it, you cannot just win using firepower with GSW. The players there used a training in which they almost perfected every shot even while their eyes are closed.

While on the other hand, Spurs have the ability to take their defensive strategy into a higher level. With Pops doing curses, I bet they are all going to make some efforts at the tune of Pops.  Grin

One superstar and of course a perfect complementary teammate. It was that time when Pietrus, Turkoglu, Bass and Lewis was having the best time of their career. And also Howard was sensational during that day and dominates the board.

Agree, Dwight Howard is a force in the center during the early stage of his career with the Magic and it is very well complimented with the high 3 point percentage of Hedo when opponents doubled Howard in the middle.

I just remember Horace Grant of the Bulls with MJ. He seems to be an all star during those years. He was the recipient of MJ pass when MJ was double but Grant slowly fading when traded to the Magic. Same goes with Luc Longley.

I watched that game and I never thought Magic could win that since its the Celtics themselves. Although they had a great third quarter and that's their winning quarter.

Yes, they really pour on the third quarter and that is the key on their winning as they gain the momentum and never gave up after that.

Is there could be any tie breaker for last spot for the playoffs? Like last year, Minesota vs Nuggets? I really hope that there could be one again. The intensity of each play are really great watching those two team battling with each other.

I think they have clinched the last playoff spot. And I'm not sure we will see any tie-breaker game this year as the spots have been settled. The intensity of the game has intensifies specially during the last 10. Yeah, last year's tie-breaker game was like the championship game for those two teams.

Well, TBH that could be reality speaking. Though, if Spurs land on the 7th or 8th there's no difference. They'll be facing Denver if they are on the 7th, in which Jokic is too much for LA. Also, Let's take into consideration that this is by far one of the best seasons for the Denver.

Though, I'd like to see if Giannis could stop KD. But I think Giannis did slow down KD last time but the splash brothers did there thing. This season is quite interesting, First is that Lebron will not be playing in the PO and the teams in the East are really putting up a show.

I'm going to bet on the Bucks if they will face with the warriors in the NBA finals.
Bucks knows how to beat the warriors, and they have the best record in the league, so it's going to be a big advantage for them in terms of home court.

I've been pretty unlucky this season betting on teams named after animals that actually exist, so I'll be going with the Wizards, Warriors, and Raptors (to get some revenge on those pesky Timberwolves for ruining my multi earlier this week) Tongue

- Toronto Raptors -6.0 at (1.81)
- Washington Wizards -5.5 at (1.93)
- Golden State Warriors -6.5 (1.84)

Was actually tempted by GSW -8.5 (2.20) but thought that might be a bit too much for a multi  Wink

I hope to see Giannis playing amazingly in this match and defeat Warriors and especially KD.
It will be a difficult game because Warriors team is always a considerable rival that can cause problems. And don't forget that Bucks don't have the experience that GSW players have in difficult matches.

Here’s how 117 NBA players responded:

    7. Who’s the best player of all time?
    (117 votes)

        Michael Jordan (73%)
        LeBron James (11.9%)
        Kobe Bryant (10.6%)
        Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1.7%)
Magic Johnson, Allen Iverson, Kevin Durant (1%)

It seems that Jordan is still the GOAT. Lebron is a far cry in second place. So it's a unanimous decision for NBA players as to who is the best player of all time.

Well even NBA fans will also attest the Michael Jordan is still the best of all time. I guess we should have our own version of this one and see how many believed that Jordan and not Lebron is still the GOAT. Making a comeback and winning a championship doesn't make Lebron the greatest (this is his argument), winning championships and rings and carrying your team even if you are sick  Grin still holds a lot of weight for being basketball's GOAT.

The difference between MJ and LJ is too far while being second to the top is just and inches away, Kobe have a pure heart who will do everything to win while Lebron is there to received its paycheck, No question about MJ's GOAT status as he really have that capabilities and all the skills a good player to ask for, but for the next two contenders still have a lots of opinions coming from different generations.

I would put lebron as the greatest player of all time.  Jordan is overrated because of his 6 championships.  Lebron never played with a player as good as Scottie Pippen.  James is a better overall player than Jordan and is a much better athlete as well.

How about Lebron playing with Kyrie, Dwade and Bosh though? Those are great players in my opinion as compare to Jordan's who got Scottie and lots of role players?

Yep, sure he is the GOAT. But, since I'm born where LeBron is reigning(since MJ is not playing anymore), I will vote on LeBron. MJ is a really great player, he can carry you for long stretches, so as LeBron. MJ played with Scottie Pippen and Rodman while LeBron played with Kyrie and Love. I don't watch any games fully for MJ but I'm watching some of his plays. I don't know what is the judging criteria for GOAT but I think both of them deserves to be one.
