Spurs did not look like they were outplayed, but they did definitely look like they were super tired. Unlucky game really. I have seen a different Spurs when they were playing against OKC, they had a situation where they played as hard as they could. But that seven game series, where they put all their 100% caused them to be tired, and that fatigue was showing on the first game.

I do hope that they get better, because this is going to just take longer and not ending anytime soon. So Spurs needs to find a way to fix their fatigue problems.

They were outmatch in this series they were study and check by the knicks in this situation, they can easily comeback against the spurs this knicks team is a different team now, the spurs needed to solve the issue fast because they are now down 2-0 if they were down 3-0 it will be very hard to comeback.
Wemby last seconds error in game 2, lost the game for them this mistake should be correct and they have to solve how to stop Brunson because he is the one chipping their lead if they are up, making him into fouled trouble should solve the issue.

One thing about losing the first game is the fact that it played in San Antonio. Spurs had the home court advantage and they lost that on game 1 right away. Now they need to win the second game, or they are going to look at something that s nearly impossible to climb back out of.

But not only they need to win this game, they also need to win one on the road as well, which will be harder. They could have just won 4 home games and be done with it, and hope to win one on the road to cut it earlier too, and yet they failed to do that, now they need to win one on the road just to get back to equal.

I was expecting honestly that the Spurs would win these series easily and they ended up losing two breaks and now the Knicks can easily sweep them at home. This wouldnt be fun at all to see a sweep in the final and i think it dosent happen so often. Knicks honestly havent been that perfect the entire season to just sweep someone in the final.

But as far as we are seeing now we will see a sweep if Knicks continue like this and they are looking like the team to win the nba title this year

Knicks had a surprising start for me. They defended Wemby and the rest of the team really well honestly. Josh Hart really deserves all the praises.

Brunson also did what was needed by taking the helm. However I don't expect Spurs to be the same in Game 2. They must fight harder than this.

I think they will also make their defending tougher next time. They should be winning to tie the series. 

I do agree with that. Wemby had "only" 26 points, which is not bad of course and specially on a finals game a 26-12 line is not bad, but he had 6 turnovers, which wasn't that great, he needs to lower that for the rest of the series. Others did not do that well either. A 36% shooting from the field is not great, I am not saying they should be 50%+ , which would be ideal of course, but not even being 40% is the main problem why they lost. And that happened thanks to Knicks playing great defense.

I feel the final was less talked about, let have a little discussion on the game 2 of the NBA finals played yesterday at the frost Bank center in San Antonio. It was a close margin game even though the New York knicks managed to get the win my a single point against the San Antonio spurs in the game to with a score line of 105 -104, That was really close though. The knicks had a great game at the second  quarter which gave them the lead at halftime, the spurs didn’t give up they tried a comeback at the fourth quarter which they did put a wonderful performance at the fourth quarter but it’s wasn’t just enough. It’s was an intense game though late drama and a narrow escape win typically example of how a final should be.

It appears the Knicks are on the verge of winning the title barring a huge meltdown.
Knicks to win it all is priced around -400; someone convince me not to "bet the farm" on this.

I just selected the Spurs to win in the poll even though they’re down 2-0. I feel like they had it last night and let it slip away, but it was an improvement to game 1. I think they probably realize KAT is going to be a problem now and will adjust to make someone else beat them. The Knicks are also going to have a problem trying to match their shooting performance last game.  I think the Spurs take game 3 in New York in front of Trump and turn the tide.

Now, it is going literally exactly the other side, we are seeing them actually have a situation where they may end up with a sweep from Knicks, that is seriously weird to see and I did not expected this at all. Spurs could still win a game or two maybe if they are lucky, but I can't see if they could win the whole thing, looks to me like they are going to end up with a loss for the longest term, and NBA champions will be the Knicks.

The finals is going the opposite way for the majority of people I assume. Spurs were expected to the dominant side instead by bookmakers as well. But this 2-0 advantage for Knicks is telling us a different thing...

Knicks won 2 games away. 2 games home for them next time. If they finish it 4-0 then I will be very shocked! Spurs eliminated Thunder in the end. But so far in this series they are just a disappointment.

Game 2 was very interesting. San Antonio built a 12-point lead in the second quarter, but the gap closed by the end of the period, and New York took the lead.
In the fourth quarter, New York extended their lead to 12 points, but the score was tied at 97-97 in the last 2.5 minutes. In the second half, San Antonio took the lead once towards the end of the game.
Brunson made his mark in the final seconds.
With the score tied at 104-104, San Antonio had possession, but Wemby's pass hit Stephon Castle's back, and Brunson grabbed the ball and was fouled.
He then made a successful basket to make the score 104-105. With 9.5 seconds left, the Spurs had a possession, but Wemby's shot missed, and the New York Knicks won Game 2 104-105, taking a 0-2 lead in the series.

Hopefully, this series will end 4-0. Because the World Cup starts in 4 days and everyone in the US is talking about the New York Knicks.

Jalen Brunson... The same shot again and bringing the win to his team!    He is really doing the best he can to carry Knicks to the championship after 50+ years.

Making it 2-0 in San Antonio is just a top work by them. I can only say that they really deserve to win the title after these results. I don't expect a total defeat for Spurs like 4-0.

But I've started seeing their chance to make a comeback much less now...

I think so too. But there are pointers that I want the Spurs to see through.

Number 1: Wemby. Charles Barkley was right. He was shaken when KAT was having the best performance of his career. He even used Shaq as an example of his younger age at the Orlando Magic. Shaq had a hard time answering his questions because it is true. As a young player, it will be tough to brace those pressures that will be coming to Wemby.

Number 2: How Wemby will overcome it. He showed some strengths in the 2nd half, but I still don't see that Wemby in the game against OKC. He shut down Chet with almost no points in Game 7 (4 points only). He needs to do this against KAT. Face him and overcome him. But if he can't do that, it's still okay. He already achieved far for his age. I think he must realize that.

Number 3: That first half should've been good to them. 13-point lead. But they made foolish shots without anyone beneath the rim to get an offensive rebound.

Number 4: Are they a fast-play team or not? If the former, then they need to do fastbreaks most of the time and not wait for a teammate, and make a set. Because I am sure the Knicks have a low percentage of making a shot when they play fast. I think it's different when it's about the Spurs.

Knicks story is just beautiful. three college teammates who played together at Villanova (Brunson, Hart and Bridges) reunite on the same NBA team.
and at the same time, we're talking about a team that hasn't seen a championship in ages backed by a fanbase that absolutely brings the house down.

coming back from 2-0 down in the NBA Finals is extremely difficult. Especially if you dropped those first two games at home... but regardless, given their lack of experience Spurs have done incredibly well to get to this point.

IIRC, they're one of the teams that has the most expense for their roster and after this fall they got for this season.

I don't think that's encouraging anymore to keep with the roster they have and they seriously need a pay check cut for some of them who's got overly paid.

imo OKC have to break up their big three no matter what, just to keep their team system running without changing it...
What makes them so good is forcing turnovers through high intensity pressure and converting them into points. if they lose the players who provide this specific trait, their level will drop.

That's imminent I think.

Because of how they ended with this season, it's still good but the management might be discouraged to keep the roster.

They're going to dispose some of them in order to get some better players that could secure them better run next season.

Yea he did a mistake but the point guard should also get the ball, the knicks might be up 3-0 if things is not solve by the coach, spurs coach is being outcoach and players are being outplayed by the knicks in papers the spurs should be the one ahead in the series but the tables were turn and now they are down 2-0 in this series.
Wemby should assert himself also as towns are taking advantage of the experience, could it be that the wolves made a mistake trading him because now he is showing in the finals that he is still one of the stars in the league, if the spurs need to comeback its in game 3, it would be hard because its in New York.

Honestly, I’m really disappointed on how San Antonio Spurs have been playing in this Playoffs Finals, they shouldn’t have allowed Knicks to have two game advantage over them, now I’m just wondering how they’re possibly going to turn this game around, the problem with Spurs is that they always depend on Wemby, and it’s obvious that Wemby is their talisman.

Anyways I’m expecting something different from game 3, and I’m expecting Wemby to show something different in that game, I wish this Spurs team is going to come up with a different game entirely, that shakes the Knicks team and eventually makes them scared of the Spurs team, Spurs have to find a way to tie the game.
