I REALLY REALLY did not expected a Knicks championship at the start of the season. If you asked me which team would be the champions in September, I would have probably ranked at least 5-6 other teams before I would rank Knicks, and while they did have a better regular season than I expected, I still didn't see them winning the title in the first round, and then the second round, I still did not.

By the time Spurs beat OKC, and got to finals, I still said Knicks would be destroyed because if Spurs can beat OKC, then they can beat Knicks. And somehow, some way, these Knicks found that power in them to get the win, and did not give up on any game and managed to win. Even in this game, last quarter they overscored by like 10 points to get the title. Amazing job by them, kudos.

After 52 years, the New York Knicks became champions.
Brunson and his teammates wanted it this way.
The game ended 94-90 in favor of New York, with Jalen Brunson scoring half of New York's points.
He was joined by Bridges and Josh Hart in coming from behind to secure the victory.
The Spurs led the game for a long time. New York took the lead in the last 2.5 minutes of the game. Wemby was behind in the score compared to their previous games. Although Dylan Harper, despite being a rookie, made a very good scoring contribution, New York became champions.

But that's the exciting part every time a new season starts, we have no frickin idea who's going to win. A super team as they say but that's no longer a thing in the NBA anymore.

I guess those with the younger rosters have more potential to win the championship + experience in the next season.

It will be great if the Lakers can get Gafford. Those two have good chemistry during Luka's stint with the Mavericks. It can become like Lob City with him, and Gafford's defense is not to be messed with.

I think teams today will start considering getting big men. Because of Wemby's showcase of inside defense and offense, it will be tough to have someone to face against him. It has shown how many players do not even think about pushing the offense in the paint because of Wemby. But if someone big can box him out, it will offer a way for those who are trying to attack.
I believe this can become the era of big men again. We will see how this team will form a new strategy to defeat something that big, considering he now has the experience of the Finals and will probably be better next season and the years to come.

James Brunson, it will be fair to say that he was unstoppable after dropping  46 points last night, his performance earned  him the final MVP and it's well deserved.

Another comeback of the New York Knicks from Spurs it's like a Dejavu since this happened already before where the Spurs were up by more than 15+ in the first half then losing on the last 2 quarters. James Brunson really did a great job and the rest of the Knicks and he really deserves the finals MVP, waiting for 53 years is no joke and they truly deserves it. As for Wemby and Spurs, most of them were new and this would be a great experience for them especially for Wemby since this is his first playoffs appearance and he already made it to the NBA finals, looking forward more on his improvement.

yeah. it is obvious that this roster will grow and gel even more around the Wemby-Castle-Harper trio...
Taking their very first playoff experience all the way to the finals is a massive plus for their development. Spurs have now become a team that the entire NBA targets to beat, yet fears just as much.

The Knicks are getting bonuses coming from staff and to the players. There are people poking the players on the bench who became champions while warming the seat. I think we have to recognize everyone who's got to be part of the team. We don't know what's happening beyond the scene and of course with their practice, everyone is involved. If they're benched, for sure in the practice they're part of how they're playing against these stars of the team. As for the bonuses, it's said that players[1] will get around $770k each and for the staff, I have no clue yet.

So they will have 3 centers then? Ayton, Hayes and then Gafford? Doesn't make any sense unless they will keep them just like what the Cavs do with their twin towers of Mobley and Jared Allen.

And if that happens then it's a good moved from the Lakers, as there have been talks of DK already in the past that he is going to be traded but maybe teams are not buying it and it will take another player like Vando to keep the roll balling for the Lakers.

For a player who's averaging less than 10 PPG last season and the management paying him $18M next year? I don't think that it will be that beneficial for the team especially they might still have Ayton still next season depending on whether he will opt in on his contract. Ayton's being paid $8M only compared to Gafford's $18M. Anyway, the Lakers have lots of cap space now that Lebron's gone, and Luka and Gafford already have chemistry back when they played on Dallas where they reached the NBA Finals as well, so that might be a big plus. Vando has been into lots of injuries last season, and Knecht has been a benchwarmer ever since. They can add Bronny to the mix as well.

As for Lebron, there are articles online where him and his agent Rich Paul is still in negotiation with the Lakers, and they're trying to get a max contract still which for me and to most, will not be given to him. They already saw the impact of him opting to his $52M contract to the whole roster. Now that they have a lot of cap space, they have more flexibility, and instead of re-signing Lebron, they could just give Austin Reaves a bigger contract then sign better role players around the 2 of them. That would be more beneficial for the team. Rich Paul also said though that there are around 12 teams that are trying to get Lebron, but nobody knows what the contract will be if he'll be given max contract or a smaller contract than it was last season. Nevertheless, Lebron is still Lebron, and he can still attract fans even at 41 years old.

What I'm good at seeing for Gafford going to LA is to become a perfect Luka partner, as we all know how Gafford + Luka work on a Finals level, but this could be now or never, let's see.
But I will still see Ayton as always starting center here for the entire LA team balance.

The Lakers have no choice but to build around Luka because that is the most performing player they have, and like we all know LeBron have passed his prime, his son should be doing what his dad did for the Lakers instead of that, he isn’t performing, he can’t fill the shoes of his father that is certain and everyone knows that.

Lakers have to get new players into the franchise, that is the best thing to do, and they’ve to pick new young and exciting young prospects.

I believe there would be a draft pick soon, and then most especially Spurs have to try and get new experienced players into the team.

It took several years, but the moment that they have decided to have Brunson as their new franchise player instead of Julius which obviously they traded for KAT and then the Villanova boys minus Donte, it really shape them and now becoming a first time NBA champions.

Last time Knicks played final of NBA was back in 1999 and that too was against Spurs. Knicks Captain created a new record of scoring most points for Knicks in final i.e. 45 points. Knicks were 16 points behind Spurs before Captain Jalen Brunson scored 13 straight points in forth quarter that helped his side in winning the title after 53 years. Last time Knicks win a title was in 1973 and since then the fans were looking for their team to win the title and that wait is finally over.

I read in the news that some Knicks fans have been celebrating too much to the point that they forgot they were already violating the law, there are reports that they burned a school bus, broke car windshields, and even a stabbing incident happened.

I think this is the worst celebration I have witnessed from an NBA champion.
