Multiple outlets are reporting that the Golden State Warriors are trying to trade Jimmy Butler for Anthony Davis in an attempt to lure LeBron to sign with the Warriors and make one last run for a championship “with a roster full of legends.”

I would love to see it, but I feel like there is no way they would all be able to stay healthy.

We would truly witness a legendary roster, and we probably won't have the chance to see one like that again because for the scenario you mentioned to happen, LeBron would have to decide to continue playing.
If legendary stars are together at GSW, even if they don't win the championship, I'm sure they'll play games that everyone will enjoy immensely. I would love to see LeBron win the championship in his final season Smiley

With the Warriors, it is possible as long as Curry is healthy. If not, then most likely it will be the same outcome as with the Lakers, they will be in the playoffs but will probably exit early. But for the Warriors, they will surely boost their ticket sales because of LeBron. And if LeBron wins a championship, which I doubt, maybe he will not retire yet and will continue to make his own record with Curry.

That is another if. The problem is, the Warriors and Curry are not the same anymore. Curry is already past his prime, and yes, he is still a superstar, but their opponents have already figured out how he plays. They were once almost unbeatable, but now they are even struggling to enter the playoffs. What can LeBron really do with the Warriors? The team plays at a fast pace, and I’m not sure if an old LeBron can still keep up on both defense and offense.

Even if Warriors gets Anthony Davis and LeBron both I wouldn't still expect a single championship from them. The reason is quite simple to me.

LeBron and Curry are very old now. Curry can be more effective in general of the season maybe but still I doubt his consistency as well.

And when it comes to Davis he has got injured for serious time periods. His career isn't at a great point now.

If this happens, it feels like the Warriors are becoming the new Lakers, but with older guys.

I don’t think the Warriors will also do that, knowing the salary of both players is very high. Who would they give up? Pretty sure they are not giving up Draymond. Butler, maybe yes, but I’m still not sure if they can handle both guys on the team.

We might be missing the old Warriors, but we have to admit that they are no longer the same team. Players get old, and maybe instead of getting old stars, they should just try to rebuild. That would cut the cost and help develop their future.

LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Jaylen Brown, Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler, Jamal Murray, and even Jokic all could be moving to new teams in the next couple of weeks. This is going to be an NBA shakeup as the old superstars are finding themselves roles as their careers fade.
Interesting.

And we're starting to see some of these big names who are moving.

I hope that each team will get their best shape from these superstars if they really need to have one from this list.

Ja Morant was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers. I wasn't expecting this. Their very franchise player have been traded and that means that anyone who thinks that they're not going to be let go by their teams should have no confidence anymore. What do you think about Morant + Lillard? Will this give a go? they have mostly guards and only two centers which I think that their play will rotate around outside shooting.

Jokic moving to another team, I think that will not happen.
We can't be sure anymore when it happened to Ja and Giannis.

Legion Sports is saying that the Golden State Warriors no longer have the ability to offer LeBron James a contract now that they have resigned Kristaps Porzingis. So much for that dream. I’m guessing we see both LeBron and Anthony Davis resign with their same teams now.

Edit: it is still possible if they can dump Moses Moody and Draymond Green takes a pay cut.

I heard Green declined his player option and is willing to take a pay cut. Maybe that's to make room so they can sign LeBron James. I'm still hoping LeBron gets to wear a Warriors jersey, even if it's just for one season.

Although they re-signed Porzingis, his contract is smaller now, so there's still some hope that LeBron could end up with the Warriors. I just hope Porzingis stays healthy and is available most of the time. He's still a very good player; it's just that he's often unavailable because of injuries.

Well it has been reported as early last season that Ja Morant will be traded, he has issues with his coach that time if I'm not mistaken. I think still a good move by Portland to get to him and partnered with Lillard or to Deni Avdija.

No player is safe I guess, specially if you are not that healthy anymore, has previous run ins with the law or trying to be diva.

For Draymond, it's a good move for him to decline so that he won't get traded and could remain with the Warriors and can play with Lebron and AD if the plan materializes.

Yes, Draymond Green might take a pay cut just to be able to lure either or both Lebron and AD to them. But I don't know, if they team up and let's say win a championship all together, then they build a super team that might not be good for their legacy.

In any case, let's see how it goes the Warriors, if they have the right plan to get Lebron and AD or just dump this idea and just let Curry and Draymond run at least one more season for a championship. If not then it's really that father time has caught up with them.

A win-win trade? I don't think so.
As always, I respect the opinion of people here, but I don't see it that way. It's a massive win for the Grizzlies.

Let's not forget that Morant technically has NO VALUE at all, and no other teams wants him because of how massive his current contract is. His contract are on par with the likes of Maxey, and SGA. It's a bit shocking that the Blazers did get him, but if they will not deal him to another team, the development of Avdija will be screwed that's for sure. What can Morant do? He can't defend, he can't shoot, and let's not forget the drama that he has been done in the last few years. He's a big headache to any other team, and the Grizzlies front office are celebrating right now that they already gave away a basically no-value player for Grant who's a great defender as well.

Morant isn't untouchable at all... or at least he became touchable ever since the gun incident happened. Sorry, but the Grizzlies had won this trade by a landslide. Lillard can't defend, Morant can't defend, both of them are injury-prone, and Avdija who's the type of player who wants the ball on his hands for most of the time will have a hard time developing because he will be moved from being a guard to being a wing. I'm just hoping that the Blazers could somehow trade Morant this off-season because I don't want this trade in the first place. He doesn't fit there if you will ask me.

Not sure but if I remember it right, last season there's a rumors that Ja' will be traded but that did not happen there are factors that trade might be executed even how good the player was, if the management decided to trade him or if the players is no longer satisfied with the management and request to be traded then there's no one who can prevent that, most likely if there's a deal between two teams trade will be executed.

Now, the question is how the coach will blend Ja and Lilard as both are offensive arsenal who wanted to hold the ball, if they'll be able to established good chemistries that's a front line instant offense, Ja' can penetrate to break the defense then Lilard can just wait outside for a possible drop pass from Ja'.

Yeah, no one saw that coming. I guess it's mainly because of Ja Morant's injury history that the Grizzlies decided to trade him for Jeremy Grant and Kris Murray.

Dame is just not the same player he was years ago. I don’t see him anchoring a team into a playoff run. Ja Morant is also damaged goods who got dumped by his team to rid themselves of the distraction. I actually don’t even think Portland is a playoff team. This will be a massive disappointment.

Age and injury is the reason why he's performance decline, but still he's remain to be a reliable star if Dame is just healthy. Now that they have Ja on their team maybe the load will be lessen and well let's find out if Portland will became more competitive team now after they made that huge trade.

But yeah as you have said Ja is a damage good, but who knows maybe he's attitude change and he realized his past mistake then do more better in his new team. For now its hard to speculate if they became automatically a playoff team now, but let see what will happen if Dame and Ja will play together.

I assume after Lillard and Holiday got both quite old, Trail Blazers wanted to bring a name that could be their future... However I have big doubts about Ja Morant when it comes to that.  Tongue

He isn't the same old player we know anymore. He is a questionable talent now. He had big problems at Grizzlies of course. But I'm not sure whether this will be a rebirth for him.

^^ Dame for me is already on the decline and I don't think that he can come back just like before. But during his prime years with Portland, he was really a very good player and leading them to the playoffs.

But we all know that once a good player is hit by a season injury, the chances of coming back are slim. For Ja Morant, it's more of his mentally on the game and how he project himself. Maybe there are still some best years ahead for him and can average a good 20 or more points per game in Blazers uniform. You just can't imagine it though, when Ja was really that good and surrounded with players that can compliment him. Just seeing him SGA when they got the ring before, but minus all the drama. So he could have brought Memphis then by his pure athleticism, maybe, just maybe.

I fully support Jamal Murray to leave Nuggets as soon as possible.  Tongue  Man, he isn't even close to his prime now. That was a really poor playoffs performance as well.

If he leaves first then maybe Jokic would consider staying - if he is seriously thinking of leaving. A superstar like Jokic deserves better teammates for championships.

He has only 1 championship in his career which isn't good. I see him as the best all-around player ever in NBA history...

Indeed, though we can't prevent that as Dame is already aging he might bring some decent numbers with his offense but in terms of carrying the whole team, that might be a big question and so with Ja' even he's still young but injuries and the way he played now, not sure if the team can rely on him, but if ever that he wanted to bring his name back in the discussion playing with the Blazers will be a good start over for his career.
