lebron is a true legend. while everyone expected him to sign another big contract with one of his former teams, he’s joining the 76ers for a brand-new challenge on the lowest contract of his career. even though his salary has increased every season for years, he’ll now earn just $8 million over two years.
last season, the 76ers were eliminated by the champion knicks. let’s see what they’ll do next season.

He is earning less than five or six players currently in the EuroLeague. He will receive $8 million over two years. This alone demonstrates that he joined the 76ers with a specific goal in mind. The 76ers have built a strong roster, and despite his advanced age, LeBron will undoubtedly provide significant scoring contributions. Most importantly, this means he will further extend the records he already holds. Of course, the crucial factor is his health; given his age, a potential injury would mean a lengthy recovery process.

Two years seemed like a long time to me. While many people—myself included—were expecting the Cavs, the Sixers came as a surprise. general expectation was that LeBron would return to Cleveland and retire there. if betting odds were open, i imagine anyone who bet on Philadelphia made a good chunk of money Anyway considering he signed a 2 year, $8 million deal, he could pretty much only get a veteran minimum contract after turning 41. In my opinion the Cleveland is his last choice if he ever chose to sign, its because the Cleveland will be unable to build a decent team because if the big salary of the two players, if he have no choice he might sign with the Golden State instead of Cleveland, but instead he chose sixers because of its solid first five line-up he will not be carrying this team alone because brown can carry it or even Maxey and when its really needed how knows he can turn the pedal on and bring the team to its destination.

That was the most surprising part for me man, definitely! He really accepted such a low contract. It's like a minimum contract or so I guess. People were talking about him like he didn't continue at Lakers because of not being offered a max contract... But it turns out this wasn't the case. I think he did really good by signing a deal with 76ers. The roster and starting five both will be really decent. I think it's even good enough to win their conference next season. But another ring for LeBron? That's not easy surely.

I’m not sure what other big moves are left out there. Sort of feels like the main pieces are in place for the season. I’m personally excited to see LaMelo Ball get a chance to show what he can do on a good team. Then obviously Giannis in Miami and LeBron/Brown in Philadelphia will be the major storylines to watch.
Yeah, I am also looking forward to this pair. LaMelo + Edwards. I think the scary part here is that now Anthony Edwards can focus on his shooting capability. He can preserve his energy and go all out anytime he wants because there is now a good ball handler on their team. Give that job to LaMelo and trust that he will make good plays. Also, the added speed. Ball, Edwards, Donte (now in rehabilitation), Dosunmu, and McDaniels. If ever Coach Chris Finch decides he wants to play run and gun, the pieces are already there while he sits Rudy. It's now a team that can definitely match OKC or any team that focuses on guards.

No body expected him to go to philly and he ended up going their for the minimum amount of money. We this move we know he dosent care anymore about money and just wants that championship ring and they might get it. Maxey and Embiid next to him might give him a chance to win it,with a couple of more good players he might have a good chance.

But I disagree with you by calling him a ball hog, since actually he's one of best playmaker then at no. 4 rank on all time assist leader. I follow him since his first NBA game, his first years and last years have very big difference. Maybe stats wise you don't see that much but when you look at him from a game mentality perspective, he makes much better decisions and plays more wisely. He won't be the team's leading scorer right now, Brown will most likely take on that role. LeBron will also serve as a mentor to the team. He'll also help young players on the team to develop faster and better. Sixers definitely made a very smart move with this transfer.

I'm okay with watching LeBron at 76ers honestly. I'm already excited about their capabilities after adding Jaylen Brown also to their roster. LeBron is going to make a really low amount of money indeed. Everyone was surprised with that. Maybe it wasn't a maximum contract which I expected but he is still a superstar... I assume he will play as no 4. Brown would play as no 3 as that role needs some speed and durability.

LeBron would have tired significantly had he played the number 3 position; however, the number 4 spot is a suitable position for him. He took a lot of responsibility for taking the final shots with the Los Angeles Lakers, but I don't think that sort of thing will happen with the 76ers. They have Brown here, who is better than him in that regard. It will be a great pleasure to watch Brown, LeBron, and Embiid. We will see a completely different 76ers team next year. LeBron will make significant contributions to the players on the team. If the 76ers win the championship next year, LeBron might even decide to retire at the end of the season.

That is a tough question, but I cannot imagine LeBron playing for a team where he is not considered one of the leaders. Still, it is no longer the same as before, when LeBron could completely lead a team by himself because he is no longer in his prime. The fact that he signed for what looks like a veteran-minimum type of contract ($8 million for two years) shows that he may be willing to follow whatever system the team creates for him in order to win another championship. The good thing about the Sixers is that they have improved a lot on paper. They added LeBron and Brown, two players who already know what it takes to win a championship. Because of that, I expect Philadelphia to finish well in the coming season. My main concern right now is the coaching. Can the coaches properly use these two additional superstars and build strong chemistry among the players? That is what we will find out, but I am hopeful. BTW, here are the current top five teams in the NBA futures betting market: https://www.espn.com/nba/futuresSan Antonio Spurs +270 Oklahoma City Thunder +270 New York Knicks +900 Philadelphia 76ers +900 Boston Celtics +1300 LOL, Knicks still +900 ( the defending champ, this is crazy..)

The knocks losing Mitchell Robinson is going to hurt more then people think. Guy was a great defender, couldn't shoot a free throw to save his life, but was a great defender. OKC and the Spurs are going to be in the mix for the next few years so it's no surprise they are the favorites. Boston might surprise some folks. I think Philly is going to have leadership issues and it's not going to be a lock that they go deep in the playoffs. Going to be huge if they cannot develop some sort of chemistry early in the season this year.

And if everyone wanted to know what prediction market right now, here is the updated one: So Miami Heat as far as the betting public goes has the inside track and the odds favorite so far, a far second is the Cavs and then the Warriors. Looks like basketball fans here might be right as well with their speculation that Lebron is going to the Heat after all. And couple with the leaks, perhaps it's just a matter of time before Lebron announces it officially. I think each passing day favors Miami more now that they had the supposed leak for an announcement next week. I thought the thing that made the leak most unlikely was how far in the future the announcement was going to be. At this point there’s no way this decision can live up to expectations without a AD or Kyrie trade being involved. Damn, it looks like the prediction market got it wrong and didn't anticipate that Lebron will go to the Sixers. And to be honest, majority of us here might have thought that it could either be Miami or Cavs for him. But at least he did go to a team that most likely will bring him the championship, the starting five alone, the best that that we have seen as it is complete. Jaylen Brown and Lebron teaming up is already a thing that most of us wanted to see. So the tip has moved and Sixers could be the outright favorite to win the NBA title in paper.

It was staged just some sort of manipulation, and It really did impact the prediction market. Look at how big the difference the Heat as potential destination for LeBron, compared to the other teams. If you've been watching the social media waiting for LeBron to make decisions, there were actually a lot of fake news going around to somehow affect the market as well. Based on the data on the prediction market above, on the 24th, I guess nobody had thought that the Jaylen Brown trade was one of the major driving force for LeBron to decide signing for Philly. Jaylen was traded to Philly on the 1st of July, so, that should have had made an impact if people did.

Not me, I don’t think so, at least with Lebron, If not for anything Lebron over the last 2 seasons have been pretty fine being the 2nd or 3rd option with the Lakers after the Luka Doncic trade, I believe he completely understands the current stage of his career, and he is just trying to win. Brown and Embiid might be the one to look at differently, but I just don’t see it happening yet either. The knocks losing Mitchell Robinson is going to hurt more then people think. Guy was a great defender, couldn't shoot a free throw to save his life, but was a great defender. They should have done everything possible to keep Robinson, he was a vital and dependable piece for them, there were series of matches where couldn’t stay out of foul troubles from very early into games, and he was the only reason why the Knicks never get punished on the glass, while his FTs woes appears really worrying on paper, he almost never get attempts that could affect the outcome of any game, while his presence defensively and on the offensive boards attributed to many of the Knicks’ victories.

To be fair with Lebron, he has worked with so many superstars and has won championship with them. So I don't think that he will have a ego here and perhaps he is more willing to work in the background and let Brown and Maxey be the center of their offense. But if needed for sure his presence on the floor is going to create more space and opportunity for others to score more. Remember that Lebron is also a good passer, so I'm expecting Embiid to be the beneficiary of some of Lebron highlight assists.

Lebron is not going to be the one controlling the team this time, he is not going to be the issue, the reason maybe he had chosen the sixers is that he is not going to carry the load of the team unlike what happen in LA where the superstar mostly goes down, and for a 41 year old to carry the team would not last long that is why they were leading the game then collapse in the last quarter with the lineup they had today in sixers James will not always have to get points because the team brings it, he might just facilitate the plays.

--- LOL, Knicks still +900 ( the defending champ, this is crazy..)
They can't still respect the Knicks even after winning the title, eh? Anyway, the Knicks lost Robinson, but they got Drummond in exchange. I don't want to compare both of them in terms of defense, but one thing's for sure, both of them are good rebounders, and Drummond is a better free throw shooter than Robinson. Drummond shot 63.1% last season while Robinson shot 40.8%. Thunder and Spurs will be at the top for sure just because of how they're building their roster, but looking at their current one right now, it seems like the Spurs have a better roster than the Thunder. It's just my opinion though. As for the Celtics, there's a big "IF" on it and if PG is healthy for the majority of the regular season, and he's in perfect fit with the system of the team which he might be because he shot 39.2% from the 3-pt area. I have low expectations towards them, but like what you said, they might surprise some people out there. As for Philly, some are ranking them as 2nd best Eastern team right now behind the Knicks, and TBH I can't blame them. I mean if you have 4 all-stars in your team plus an emerging superstar? The expectations of people around you is high. I said that I have low expectations towards them throughout the regular season, but I see them as a playoff contender, and it's a shame for them if they'll not reach Conference Finals at least.
