The spurs should think twice on trading for curry, although he is the best shooter in the league breaking your core and giving draft picks for aging super star is not a good idea, pop will not risk something like that as it will hurt their future, they have already a solid line up and acquiring curry might be a long shot.
I would say skip curry and find a free-agent in the market that will help them deepen the second unit,

As a Spurs fan, I want Curry to be added on their roster since his experience especially on being reliable on crucial time will be very important addition to Spurs arsenal.

But I do agree that there’s no point on acquiring him if they will break the young core players. Maybe Fox and some of their bench might be my preferred trade.  Cheesy
Just to add to the "there's no point" that you said, there really is no point because aside from the fact that they might break their young core players, Curry only has one year on his contract. Now if you're the Spurs' Front office, do you want to trade your young core players plus draft picks plus maybe add Fox to the list for a player that might not play for you anymore next season after the upcoming one? The risk is on the Spurs, and it isn't worth it at all if you will ask me.

I know that he's a good addition, but it would be better for the Spurs to wait a little longer. They have 11 first round picks which could be the key to get an all-star player, and they aren't rushing to get one. I mean you already got Wemby, and you have talented future all-star players as well in Harper and Castle. TBH, there's also a chance that adding one might affect their development since they'll be given lesser playing time UNLESS it's a big then it would be different.

I don't see the Warriors trading the greatest shooter of all time for Fox and some role players. Put some draft picks then they will have a conversation. Cheesy
If i were you i dont want curry on the team it will deatroy the core line up, just by adding a old star he only have 2 season because of the salary it will eat, besides curry wont stay healthy, because he is already prone to injuries, just let the team be, add a veteran they are good to go.

You might be right since Curry’s age and injury history are still a concern. But he has dealt with injuries before and still managed to win multiple championships, so I wouldn’t count him out that easily. Just imagine if he somehow joined the Spurs. They already have some good 3-point shooters, and adding Curry would make their outside game much more dangerous and consistent.

Defenses would have to focus more on the perimeter, which would make things easier for Wemby inside. With his height, he can already dominate the paint, and he’ll probably become even stronger as he adds more size and experience. Next season we might see a bigger and more experienced Wemby. With Curry beside him (if the trade will happen), that team would be very difficult to defend.

Rumors going around that LeBron James is pushing the Philadelphia 76ers to sign Kevin Love to a one year deal to join forces again for another championship run. I’m not sure how much left in the tank Kevin Love has, but I always thought he was the best paired player with LeBron as far as complimentary skills.

I thought Kevin Love already signed with them when I checked the current roster, it was actually a different Love, it was Caleb, lol!
I also don't know how Kevin will fit into this team as a backup center for Joel. The good thing about him is that he is a good shooter and knows how to grab rebounds. But with injuries and age, he's not the same monster he was back in Minnesota and Cavs, so he's expected to play very limited minutes.
Anyway, the Sixers got 2 young Centers, so I think they're fine with K Love, not much left in his tank but surely he can still contribute.

He is with the Utah Jazz now and based on his record (https://www.nba.com/player/201567/kevin_love) , he only played limited minutes.

But his experience is different. If he can stay healthy, he could still help a team, especially since he already played with LeBron before and was part of that championship roster.
Before that, Kevin Love was already a star with the Timberwolves. So if he ends up with the Sixers, maybe that gives him another chance to compete for a ring.

Kevin Durant was taking shots at Klay Thompson, calling him an MVP of nothing while saying that the Warriors weren't as much of a superteam as the 76ers.  I can't say I really agree with him, they had a stacked team that went beyond the starting 5, but the 76ers are definitely not short on star power themselves.  I still think the chemistry and style of play is what made the Warriors a better team than everyone else, not the individual awards, but they also had Steph Curry and that can't be overlooked either.  MVP Steph was better than ANYONE currently on the 76ers roster today.

Is this the era of GSW? well if I'm be talking about who is the star of that team its the supporting cast, they made the difference if you will look who are those players they are not trash at all, Iggy, Shawn, yes curry was the MVP, but those second unit and support players are what make the difference on the GSW run, no doubt.
Draymond starting to talk again, this guy with loud mouth, no hate but the GSW run was shadow by opponent injuries in the final, and acquiring a superstar, but still a great run.

Yes, that's why they can't no longer build a good team around because it's not just Steph, it should be a complete team with starters coming off the bench and provided offense and defense. And again, in their last championship run, they have like guys like Damion Lee, Tuscano-Anderson, Otto Porter and then Gary Payton and Kuminga.

So if the Sixers wanted to have a deep run this season, they will have to look at their second stringers and learn from the past champions on how to build a solid coming from the bench to help while their starters are resting.

Is this the era of GSW?

It remains to be seen if Steph will play a final year in Golden State or not. A lot of talk about him going to Boston. Golden State would be wise to trade him for whatever they can get. I’m not really sure why they signed Draymond to another year if that is the plan though. I’m surprised the Steph situation isn’t getting more attention.

Hmm this is interesting. Boston would be on another level if they somehow get Curry.

But what will they give in exchange? Is Curry’s contract already over, or Boston needs to trade plenty of players just to get him?

I haven’t followed much about this rumor, so I’m not sure how realistic it is. But if there is really a chance, Boston will surely become even more dangerous.

He isnt a free agent yet, but he can request for a trade. Still depends on the Warriors if they like what Boston can offer in return.

If Boston is not possible, then maybe another team can try. But since the rumor now is Boston, based on what I read they could offer Paul George, Sam Hauser and maybe some picks. Not sure if the Warriors will be interested with that though, especially for Curry. They might ask for more.

That's the reason I said that the Spurs will not benefit from getting Curry. He's the greatest shooter of all time yes, but there are way more risks than benefits in this one if they will push it. I guess it's safe to say that it will not be pushed because there are no articles or not any analysts are saying this one.

August 29, 2026. Look at that date.

Why? That's when Curry will be eligible for an extension on the Warriors, and that would be around 2-years $136.7 million contract extension. His decision on that will decide his future. If he signs an extension, there's a chance that he might stay with the Warriors even after the 2026-2027 regular season, but if he declines and decides to become a free agent after the upcoming season, that will be the time where many teams will try and get him since he's a free agent, but I don't think that the Warriors will allow that to happen.

I agree with what you said that it would be wiser for the Warriors to just trade him especially if he will not sign a contract extension on the 29th of August. As for Draymond, there's already a plan ever since. Green is willing to accept a lower contract AS LONG AS they get Lebron, but if they can't, he'll get the same amount of money that he's supposed to get on his final year of his contract. Since the Warriors didn't get Lebron, the 2nd one happened hence, the 1-year contract signing. Steph's situation isn't getting attention because he's not talking about it unlike Lebron where you see many predictions anywhere, and look at the previous pages of this thread. Majority of it are talking about Lebron. That's what you call "attention". Cheesy

Steph's situation isn't getting attention because he's not talking about it unlike Lebron where you see many predictions anywhere, and look at the previous pages of this thread. Majority of it are talking about Lebron. That's what you call "attention". Cheesy

LeBron is just different, I think thats the reason. Even at his age people still see him as the face of the NBA.

Curry also won multiple championships, but compared to what LeBron achieved I think he is still below him. Curry also never played for another team yet, while LeBron already moved several times. Thats why every time there is news that LeBron might leave the Lakers, it becomes a big topic. Honestly I was also thinking he would return to Cleveland one day and retire there.

If i have to be honest curry was carried by the supporting cast yes, he is the greatest shooter of all time no doubt but without this players, i don't think he can win one, every run a players in the line up was showing up and helping them win the chip.
LeBron is so marketable that even if you hate him or love him he is going to draw the crowd, and make money, that make the difference, and at this age he should not be something, but still proving us wrong he is still the face of the league still.

Draymond Green was taking shots at Klay Thompson, calling him an MVP of nothing while defending that the Warriors weren't as much of a superteam as the 76ers.

Well, I guess it's safe to say that any team would need depth to be able to win a championship, but they should also need a superstar, which eventually most of the time becomes the MVP. Steph without a doubt is the case for the Warriors, except during that time when Iggy was still at his peak.

Anyway, at this point, I'd still choose the GSW with Durant over the current Sixers roster. I may change my mind if the Sixers win the Finals.

LeBron is the best in the world, and no matter his age, he will always attract everyone's attention. Curry has also gotten older, yes, but his name was never even mentioned in GOAT discussions, he never reached the level of the LeBron, Kobe, and Jordan trio.
He shoots very well, he can win games or championships, but in terms of athleticism, he's not at the level to be the GOAT. Maybe we'll start talking about him like this a year or two after LeBron retires Smiley

Thanks, so he is not a free agent yet. But since he already asked to be traded, I guess the Warriors will at least consider it. Otherwise next season could be worse than the last one. A player who wants out may not play with the same heart anymore, because mentally he is already thinking about another team.

Curry probably knows too that they may not win another championship with the same lineup. So it makes sense if he wants to join a stronger team like Boston.

Let the trade happen, but only if the deal is fair for both sides.

If Curry ever goes to Boston and PG is also traded but Tatum stays healthy, who would you choose between the current lineup of the Sixers and Boston with Curry? I feel like the Sixers lineup is still better. Anyway, if the Warriors decide to trade Curry, they will surely ask for more, but I think it is still worth it.

Although he is past his prime, he can still put up good numbers, especially if he won't be the main focus of the defense. He still also drives revenue, whether through merch or ticket sales.

If ever they decide not to, I still think he deserves the contract extension. If they can still give Draymond such an offer, which I think is a pretty decent amount for him, then Curry also deserves the offer. It's just up to him if he will take less, like Wemby, to give more cap space. If I were Curry, I'd take the money and chase the 5th ring after the contract on another team. He won't most likely be labeled as not loyal coz he stayed with the franchise for years and hasn't moved since. Also, wherever Curry goes, his fans go as well.

Curry changed the course of the game with his incredible 3-point shooting. However his defensive weaknesses have always been an issue. The team he joins will also take this into account. In the Warriors, Draymond filled that role.
I think Curry would've had an even more legendary career finale if he'd retired with the team he's played for all these years, but if he can no longer see eye to eye with the organization, you can't force a happy ending. A trade would be the best outcome for both sides.

Well people are putting curry above lebron, which i think is a bit delusional, curry really is the greatest shooter and change the course of the game when he is hot, but he is not the force, also people who are not even a GSW fans before become a fan because they want lebron to lose, and it happens, but its not curry who always beat lebron its the supporting cast of the team, if you match lebron with curry, lebron will eat him alive, imagine at 41 the nba still waiting for him, no doubt phily still a contender without him, but with him in the team it adds more depth to the team.

That's every championship team does though, it's not about one player, they are a lot behind. We have Jordan-Pippen, Shaq-Kobe and other duos or big 3 in a team. That is also what Lebron did in the rest of his career.

Yes, he might have carried the Cavs in his first stint there, but it wasn't enough until he comes back with Kyrie. The thing with Lebron is his longevity in the game and up to now he says that he still loves it that's why he is pushing for another title run. This time with the Sixers.
