By the way Seattle SuperSonics has been discussed to be promoted to NBA again in the near future. Do you think this will happen? In that case one team will need to change conference and that's likely to be Minnesota.

^ Monta Ellis is crazy. He was good, but not Steph Curry good obviously. One of them was a unanimous MVP and one was probably never even first team all NBA… Sure, the Durant squad didn’t need much, but Curry was never replaceable.

Nothing good often comes from past players on podcasts, it's not surprising why they were players in the first instance and not media personnel or analyst, my take remains that half the time, their takes are just pitches to put themselves out there a bit more, since the NBA world have moved on and forgotten about the little impact they had in the league.

That proves the NBA still sees LeBron as one of the most popular players in the league. When his team plays, people will watch, so from a marketing point of view it makes a lot of sense. But whether his new team will actually improve and become a championship team is another story. We really dont know yet, although I'm hopeful about it and I would not worry too much about that part for now.

Its funny because people are not even talking that much about the Knicks despite them being the champions.

Even if he shows how willing he is to play, but still it will not erase the real facts that Simmons is not the same as before.

I think the interest of teams came up when he says that he's willing to commit and will accept minimum veteran contract. This is the reason Sixers shows interest, but they are not still sure if they really want to give Simmons a contract. But also I don't think they need him since they already have Lebron and Maxey that can carry the ball and facilitate plays for their team.

Also look at amount earned by Simmons for playing few games each season and worse he's performance decline so bad.

What’s even crazier is how much Zion has earned considering how little he has actually played for New Orleans. With the amount the Pelicans have paid him, it honestly feels like huge waste of money.

Do you think that he can won a championship ring with the Warriors if he has switch places with Steph? Personally, I disagree with him, yes he is a scorer, but he is built differently. He might not have a chemistry with Draymond for all we know and there could be conflict too in the locker room. Perhaps he was just bitter and resented that he was traded and the Warriors started their dynasty without him.

Ellis plays like DeMar DeRozan. I think that will be my comparison for him. I was a fan of Ellis too because of his superb perimeter play, and he can also attack the paint with his agile build. That dude is a scorer, and once he gets his rhythm, there's no stopping him.

Now to the topic. It's not because Ellis was not good, but it is because of the team that was built back in his era with the Warriors. It's not like the Warriors tried their best to surround him with good role players. I mean, who are their good players there? David Lee, Radmanovic, Stephen Jackson, and some others. Then, they are plagued with injuries too.

I say Ellis had a combination of bad seasons and those injuries from his teammates.

Hard to speculate on that. For me, the real comparison in this discussion is simple, Ellis never won a championship while Curry won multiple.

So its not about what people believed would happen or what they were capable of doing, its about the actual result. Curry delivered that result regardless of who the opponent was, and he was the best player of the team. End of debate.

The Pelicans are a play-in team at best if Zion's playing. If not, they're just a lottery team. I can't even remember the time when they clinch the playoffs. I think that was when they faced the Suns in the first round where it went up to 7 games, but they lost eventually.

Anyway, both Zion and Simmons' case is very different, but they have one similarity. They're the type of player who has the skills, but the one that any coach can't rely on. I wonder why the Pelicans still don't want to trade Zion despite of how awful his career is on that team. I mean in his best regular season, he injured himself that caused them to get eliminated. This is the perfect example of you can't rely on your star player. As for Simmons, he really got that mental problem when he passed an open layup to Thybulle. Now surprisingly, there are some teams who are interested in him for a veteran minimum contract INCLUDING the Sixers where everything started. I wonder how it will be when Simmons will be acquired by the Sixers again. His agent is Rich Paul AGAIN so there's a big chance that he could come back to the league again and play.

This is the only interesting match on the Christmas day. No offense to the other teams of course. I guess I can include the Spurs Vs. Knicks match-up as well. I mean a replay of the NBA Finals.

A good playoff contender would probably be the best fit for him, especially a team where he doesnt have to carry everything. That could also lessen the chance of him getting injured.

With managed minutes and maybe a little change in his playing style, I think he can last longer. Give him fewer minutes in the regular season, then once the playoffs come, thats when you can increase his minutes because thats where he matters most.

Physically, he is still very hard to stop. Once he gets inside and attacks the rim, he can really dominate.

I wouldn't say that it's like a revenge game for Lebron, he brought a ring to the Lakers in the bubble and for sure fans are still going to show love to him with standing ovation. Although Lebron might have a grudge on the Lakers management as we just recently learn about it when he got traded.

Spurs @Knicks will also be interesting, it could be that Spurs wanted to have their revenge.

As for Ben, it might be really over for him in the NBA as no team is willing to take that big risk. There are a lot of good players that doesn't have a contract. So Ben might not be the priority for them. It's his fault though, I mean that attitude towards the Sixers after his poor performance was his final nail in the coffin. Although he still played some games, but mentally, Ben is not the same anymore.

It was a two times overtime game and score was like 129-130. Thought the Rockets were going to have a great that season.

About Zion, did we even see a 'Zion is getting in shape and getting jacked' news this summer? I just checked, he played 62 games last season and averaged 21 ppg. Can't believe he is 26 already. He should be more reliable and live up to his potential. Everyone wants to see that.

Yeah, this is now the prime of his career. If adjustments are needed with his weight issue, he must focus on that. He will definitely be more explosive if he can get that perfect weight for his body. More high-flying highlights, and maybe he can start his shooting training too.

I know some Zion fans have not given up on him, but if he does not work on that weight management, he might become like Giannis, who was booed by his own fans in Milwaukee. Just even showing some progress might be enough, and if there are some changes to his stats, it will definitely be a big boost for the Pelicans.

It can't be wrong because Adam Silver said it. So I initially thought they would schedule LeBron's team against the Lakers on opening night, but it was booked on Christmas instead.

Still a good schedule for Christmas for sixers and the lakers it will draw crowd for that game, even more bigger than the sixers and the knicks match, the match with the sixers and the knicks will be a test if the knicks can play against this bigger team, although the speed matters and that is what the knicks advantage but for sure Edgecombe and Maxey will not let things go, because they can match the the speed of the knicks, both are exciting matches i was just leaning to the lakers sixers game.

He never ceases to amaze us, he is really a good dunker. Too bad he has not been that lucky in the NBA as his stints there were very short.

The NBA should definitely improve their dunk contest. For me, it has become one of the most boring events during NBA All-Star weekend.

Next season they should be fully healthy, and they really need VanVleet as their PG. Durant is exceptional as always, but the team becomes much better when he is surrounded by players he can trust to deliver when he gets doubled or when he is struggling.

Its only Durant's first season with them, so I think there is still a lot of improvement that can come from this team. Next season they could be really dangerous, just like the Pistons. As long as they can get a good spot in the standings and earn home-court advantage, I think they will be fine.

Also, if Durant is not healthy during the playoffs, then that's already a huge problem for the team.
