Hello.

I just wanted to share this feeling I've been getting and building up lately... it's one of those you feel deep in your gut and it doesn't happen too often.

As a matter of fact, the only 2 times I've felt it for reals in the last 3 years have been when I met this amazing girl and the first time I stumbled upon bitcoin after reading through everything carefully and being a big lurker on r/bitcoin and here.

I know it's way too early to tell, and I am not here to mention or jinx anything, just a mere reminder that for your trip to wear a seatbelt.

With seatbelt I mean your wallets under your seats, in your backpocket('s *some people may carry several wallets) and please refrain from leaving them in the front of the bus with everyone else's wallets in a bag, I know the busdriver makes it so easy for you to exchange your money for bustickets with just holding your wallet for you. But let me tell you how many times I've heard stories of busdrivers noticing how some wallets one day happen to be extra heavy and they take them for a run and blame the bus that it stopped working. Smiley

Although I've heard there are some new and other buses out there that have busdrivers with huge wallets themselves and only drive the bus cause they enjoy it and they love helping people get forward. Smiley

Stay safe, peace

edit: sorry for the exaggerated metaphors

Yes indeed, have all of your coins in your local wallet, when Bitcoin starts going to the moon the exchanges may be more prone to "get hacked" if you know what I mean. I already have most of my stuff on my Core wallet, only have my 2 other alt investments in an exchange, hoping I make some gains when the big BTC tsunami starts. I just hope the low price stays for a longer while so I can keep stacking cheap coins.

At the very least their is a strong incentive to Hold for a bit longer
Until it breaks out or it does it last six month pattern
Six weeks of strong trend analysis is good enough for me to share that sentiment with you and wake me up a bit to monitor what is occurring.

Keeping coins in cold storage is great security. Always encrypt your wallet and, if possible, the drive the wallet resides on. Only keep the coins you plan to use to buy and sell on an exchange. I don't trust any online wallets either. Better safe than sorry.

No matter what the price is, everyone should try to learn the secure way to keep your private keys.

I don't own much of them (which I plan to sell them as soon as the price takes off (about $10.000 Tongue). I store them in Blockchain since it has 2FA. I guess it is pretty secure.
I would like that local wallets could have 2FA as well.

I don't actually care what the price is.
The most important thing is everyone should try to learn the most secure way to keep your private keys in safety mode.

tl;dr :- Don't keep your hard earned bitcoins in an exchange, no matter how trustworthy it seems, keep them safe in a cold storage where no one else has access to them but you.

No, they're not secure, it's just an illusion of security, you're keeping them in an online wallet which is NOT SAFE, I don't know how many times this needs to be told. With cold storage wallet you wouldn't need 2fa.

I'll second that. There have been so many screwups lately by Blockchain that it's just painful hearing anyone still has their bitcoins there.

There is so much good news coming out. Maybe Bitcoin will never make it big, but I'd be surprised if we didn't see another pump. I'm exiting then

Always with in our control and access to nobody are the best secured situations for anything in this world and for bitcoin too. So, keeping bitcoin in desktop wallet and getting it disconnected from internet also must be a wise and safer idea.

The more in control you are of your private keys, the more you can feel safe, this is called common sense.

I share your feeling. It's been building with me over the past few months as well, got me much more active here on bitcointalk again as well.

Wallet security is always a big thing, that's why I never leave my coins on an internet connected pc and use 2fa for all online services.

Almost all of us have the same feeling about it. Wink Seeing that we are in the green without some major crashes for weeks in a row, and unlike the previous rise, this time it has some strong indication that we'll somehow stay for long. Also, in times like this, it is better to keep your coins in your own so as to prevent your funds being stolen in case the exchange gets 'hacked'

Why anyone still uses Blockchain's website to store their coins is beyond me. With so many other options to use, why? Some people say they use it for just small transactions or just to get it out there. They charge you a TX fee that is high just for those small transactions to go out anyways. Just use xapo where they don't charge you and it is faster. That is one option right there.

Keeping coins in cold storage is great security. Always encrypt your wallet and, if possible, the drive the wallet resides on. Only keep the coins you plan to use to buy and sell on an exchange. I don't trust any online wallets either. Better safe than sorry.

My coins are encrypted and offline, i dont tell anyone about it.  I then got a little bit of play money in kraken and its really not important if i lose that.
