Looks like the SEC has shut down 1broker.
Can the admin comment what is going to happen with the funds at the site?
They were allowing US people to trade security swaps which was forbidden by law and is being sued right now.

RIP 1Broker. I always loved you guys. Can the admin comment what is going to happen with the funds at the site?

I always figured the legality of this framework was dubious. No registration in the US and no KYC, but offered swaps to US customers, and for US stocks to boot? But I definitely appreciated being able to trade without KYC. I'm doubtful customer deposits will be refunded. They'd have to pull a BTC-e and bring the site back, which they don't have much incentive to do. And they probably don't have the resources to do that either. Why is it closed for other countries? How is it possible? This is fucked..
The US government seized their domain and servers.

They released some information on Twitter, best is probably if you go through it yourself and read what they say there. I do not think that funds are in danger, as the FBI only has control over the domain. They could easily make a new one like 1broker.net and start over with blocking ips from US.

i assume the funds are still secure, but they're under the thumb of the feds. as they said on their twitter, they intend to fully cooperate with the authorities. that basically rules out a btc-e redux where they spin up a new domain and continue business as usual (sans USA customers). best case scenario is they do it like pokerstars: allow non-USA customers to withdraw and force USA customers to go through a claim system. but i'm not sure that will happen. it's really at the discretion of the feds.

https://1fox.com/ is still up. Wasn't this by the same people running the 1broker? Or were they interested only on that fiat/stocks/other trading?

https://1fox.com/ is still up. Wasn't this by the same people running the 1broker? Or were they interested only on that fiat/stocks/other trading? i noticed that. the SEC and CFTC also haven't gone after any brokers (like bitmex) for offering unregistered bitcoin swaps/futures. i'm not sure on the legal details, but maybe crypto swaps don't carry the same legal requirements as those for securities or regulated commodities. i sure hope that's the case. futures brokers like bitmex (and 1fox) are my last hope to hedge the bitcoin market without KYC. i would definitely withdraw any funds from 1fox ASAP until the dust settles.....

Statement regarding the SEC allegation: All funds are currently secure and we will fully cooperate with the authorities. If approved by the SEC, we will enable withdrawals for US customers as soon as possible.
A more detailed statement will follow.

A better option to be done than to be late and regretting later on when your funds is on hold.If 1Broker is being seized then we can presume that related or similar exchange will be already on the list.So we should prepare for that. Site is still available via hosts file redirect or, I believe, via the app.

Also, the closing of their domain by the US does not imply they acted illegal. Why is it closed for other countries? How is it possible? This is fucked..
The US government seized their domain and servers. Only their domain.

Personally i hope they come back, i liked the platform abd just started there when the domain got seized. i gotta say, i'm a bit surprised by their last tweet. things seem pretty hopeful. maybe it'll be like the pokerstars takedown (rather than the btc-e takedown), where the feds let pokerstars cash out all its customers a few days after the seizure. fingers crossed. they probably will. I think they just have to block US IPs to be able to operate again
that'd be nice. it really depends whether the feds want to play nice. they have major charges pending against them from the SEC and CFTC, and 1broker said they were engaging US counsel just a few days ago. there's a lot still hanging in the balance for them. i'd just pray we can get our BTC out and wait on the sidelines. i'm out of the CFD game for a while.....
