ohh cryptopia is allright for such small coin, we need more than one exchange for sure - this is good news Yes, based on the trade volume and coin value, 611 is still a tiny coin. 611 is well maintained since about two years and it makes fun to use the integrated anonymous domain name system of 611. Afaik you can trade it on multiple exchanges: | | _________________ | | | | _________________ | | | |

a bit bummed I didn't sell on the cryptopia high but now I am worried about how what the bitcoin fork means for 611... is it merged mined with the new updates? will this mean there will be two 611 chains?

No, the BitcoinCash fork won't cause the 611 chain to split into two chains. Basically merge mining is about using PoW power for multiple difficulty target chains: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Merged_mining_specification#Aux_work_merkle_treeSo it does not matter what primary coin you decide to mine together with 611. Slushpool explained it this way in their FAQs: https://slushpool.com/help/first-aid/faq-merged-miningMerged mining allows you to mine on more than one block chain at the same time. The benefit is that every share your miner contributes counts towards the total hash rate of both currencies, and as a result they are more secure. Moreover you will receive the reward for finding blocks on both of them. Ultimately, it means this will slightly increase your Bitcoin payouts. For more technical information regarding merged-mining, please read here: How does merged mining work https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/273/how-does-merged-mining-workIn short: Everyone solo mining Bitcoin without merge mining sha256 altcoins is wasting mining profits.

This is a great and well maintained coin to merge mine with BTC. Not only is it easy to mine while difficulty is low, but the marketcap is just $36k =) Compare it with some other coins with a lot lesser utility and little to no reputation but having over 50x as much marketcap! I see outrageous potential with this one. I chose 611 over some other candidates because of its utility, a really long track record, committed dev and a rock bottom price

Hey guys, setting up a project website for 611 [coin], what information is your priority? - coin history [fork of famous Namecoin]
- special features [blockchain information can be published using dns / how to use it with the 611 client(s)]
- new feature requests and outview
- supporting projects interacting with 611 [coin]
- investment options and history
- ownership / 611 club? special services for (longtime) 611 owners?
- social media?
Please share your ideas

I'm trying to register my DNS name 'my-host.611.to': 611d name_new d/my-host [ "LONG_HEX_CODE", "SHORT_HEX_CODE" ] Then I need to make the first update: 611d name_firstupdate d/my-host SHORT_HEX_CODE '<json-value>' And I don't understand what <json-value> is and what should be there. Is it a necessary parameter? What should be specified there?

Please provide a list of working nodes. I have tried to synchronized my wallet but without success. Thanks!
^ Same! Thank you! Looks interesting. Usually the 611 client should determine a list of working nodes automatically using DNS (and/or IRC). That's my result on a current query (hostnames bold): 37.187.153.6 46.4.64.68 51.255.51.50 144.217.87.193 137.74.26.188~$ dig @dnsseed.611.to dnsseed.611.to

The json-value contains the domain information you like to publish in the DNS for your (new) name my-host.611.to. You can lookup some examples using the Namecoin Wiki: https://wiki.namecoin.org/index.php?title=Register_and_Configure_.bit_DomainsIt's working on the same scheme for 611 coin. For example if you like to point your my-host.611.to to your IPv4 address 4.4.1.1 you can use a json-value like: If you also like to redirect all sub-host entries to that IPv4 address, like www.my-host.611.to you can use this string: '{"ip":"4.4.1.1", "map": {"*": {"ip":"4.4.1.1"}}}'
Dual Stack IPv4 and IPv6 is also available, for example: {"ip":"4.4.1.1","ip6":"2001:4411::4411"} Let me know if you need some help on special settings. Hint: The information in the 611 (.to) DNS automatically after your request has been mined into a valid new block, which usually happens about 5-15 minutes after updating the value(s). If you like to manage your 611 domain names more easily, I recommend to use the Qt-client of 611. It allows to "Manage Names" using a graphical user interface and takes care about the needed commands in the background automatically. You can lookup some examples on FLO'S PRESS 4U website providing screenshots for sample setup scenarious: https://flo.sh/611-sixeleven/

Price seems low with a diff of 29470752.0 Moreover 611 coin supports merge mining: So you earn both profits (i.e. BTC and SIL) at the same time with no additional costs.
