I like the rise in "price", and look forward to the day we don't talk about the BTC price in fiat terms. But this 60% or more raise in the last 30 days, could be bad for BTC. I hope we stop around $400 for a while, and I hope it lasts. We do not need another "crash" to fubar this.

This current rise looks like a bubble inflated mainly in China, probably because of the devaluation of the yuan and the restrictions on moving hard currency abroad. I don't think this will stop or slow down very soon, we will see how long the pressure on the buy side lasts.

Before the last bubble the all time high was $276 I believe.  The price fell to a low of just under $200 after the bubble, but settled quite close to the previous ATH.  If we have a big bubble and settle just under the current all time high, things won't be too bad!

There is some evidence that bitcoin was trading below fair market value for a while. This may just be a violent, upward correction.

I'd say sell and re-buy on the crash if anything but.. if this is the start of the next bubble.. hold on to your hats.

agree 100% with op. this is definitely a bubble, no doubt. the big question is where it pops and what it corrects to.

Hey, I am all for BTC reaching it's potential, but all fast raise like this, in just a few days, its unhealthy. It will attract al sorts of get rich fast types, and it could end up in a new tulip craze. BTC should grow, but at this speed, it will not be taken seriously by the people that need to take it seriously. There need to be stability in BTC for the serious investors to come to the table. If this is just the Chinese panic buying because of new rules in China, it's not good for the BTC community.

I am a miner and a holder. I trade a bit in alt coin, and have hopes that BTC is going to be used all over as currency. I started in 2012, but got serious in 2013. Quit my job in 2013. Living of trade and mining.

In an ideal world that's how it would be. Unfortunately this world is filled with humans and that's how they tend to react. This'll rinse and repeat until it's in tatters or a total triumph.

Almost up to 400! I hope it will go up until 500 by the end of the year and then hopefully it won't go down fast but stay either stable or continue to rise

I agree. This is silly and unsustainable. I hope we cool off before 500. There is a lot of stuff going on in the bitcoin world right now and a rise in valuation is justified. But we should be at least a couple of years from a moon landing.

they said the same thing when we went to 1200, but we actually went to 1200 in a very short time

it's always like that with bitcoin, the real bubble are furious bubble, you will never see a steady rise, this because of the famous panic-buy-chain-reaction

Come on now. This is overdue. We're going to have several moon landings over the next decade. We'll start with Earth's, then work our way to Neptune's  Grin

This type of action is the #1 driver of adoption.

I don't care how hard it crashes afterward Bitcoin is here to stay.

I first bought at the top in 2013. It was likely the best decision of my life since without this financial attachment I would've never spent so much time learning about Bitcoin.

Sure some poor scrubs will complain that they got ripped off, that it's a scam or whatever... who cares.. these people will just pay the price and buy back at a higher price later on.

"I believe this will be the ultimate fate of Bitcoin, to be the "high-powered money" that serves as a reserve currency for banks that issue their own digital cash." Hal Finney, Dec. 2010

You are wrong OP. First of all, there's nothing we can do. Bitcoin will behave like this in the near future. This is the only way that it will grow in my opinion, in bubbles. This technology is new, people will come in waves and a huge number of new people will contribute to sharp rises (bubbles) and then unavoidable sharp drops.

Small size of Bitcoin's market cap is at fault here. We are just small and easily movable to the both sides.

Hello,

You must be new here

Oh how I missd these types of threads.

If only China could ban Bitcoin again it would be just like 2013

Oh wait, Taiwan did? I'll take it.
