Silk road down for second day, what's going on?

Well, the bitcoin I withdrawn yesterday It's here now. Also, I see the login screen. Trying to log in now. (The window appears, but I don't seem to be able to log.. anyway, this is Torland, and It just came to live. So I suppose that this is enought good news  )
So, mainly we have silkroad online again. 

I can also confirm this, i'm logged in as of now. Things seem to back to normal; hopefully.

Well. I can't buy yet. It say to me the same as yesterday. Log out and log in. I do it, and I can't buy anyway. 
I will try tomorrow morning.. Hope that It works. 

I've not tested buying anything yet as my personal vendors don't have any active listings, but nothing seems to be different or buggy for me. I am free to explore the site and pretty fast speeds if i'm honest. But yeah, we'll see how it turns out.

I just tested with another product and It worked. So, all It's OK.

Glad to see it's back up and running. It seemed to be working yesterday but it kept logging me out and the captcha part of the login screen wasn't working properly but was able to login and finalize and order I'd received prior to it going offline. They're also limiting new registrations so the problem doesn't reoccur.

Was that why it was down, too many new registrations? How is it being limited?

Haha I dont know why I find it ironic that there is a Silk Road thread here, it being illegal substances and all but I guess since it takes bit coins thats how it works. I read into it and it seems like an interesting venture. Anyone who made a site similar to SR that could generate similar traffic would make so much money

SR is not about illegal stuff. Yes, it's used extensively for drugs, but there are a lot of legit sales on it too.

depends what it is..... Stuff like Iboga or Ibogain is completely legal in Canada but illegal in a lot of other places in the world...

Isn't the only illegal marketplace accepting BTC. Black Market Reloaded, HackBB and I've come across a few store front style sites selling drugs, credit card details and even contract killings.

Eventually some idiot seller is going to get busted, the cops will catch on he was using silk road, and the idiot seller will have a list of
everyone he sent drugs to. Watch the fall out from it as people realize it might not be as safe as they thought and get hit not only with
drug charges but other related felony charges due to using the mail system across state lines... Cant you picture a bunch of boxes and
envelopes with drugs in them with address labels on the top waiting to be mailed the next day? lol.. i can. Or better yet the drug seller
will cooperate with police to keep taking orders and racking up more and more names until they have a cool 100 or so customers to bust.

But eh.. this is bitcoin. It will take several fucks up before people think.

That's not a risk that is inherent to Bitcoin transactions, or even to Silk Road.  So that isn't a Bitcoin issue to solve.  If drugs is what you want, you are taking the risks.  Using bitcoin does reduce those risks in some ways, but wise consumers should be aware that Bitcoin isn't some magic pill.

it definitely is more convenient ^^, as for the safety, it pretty much depends on what you're buying exactly
but then for our sake, the post companies can't verify the content of everything sent... yet
