Hi Fam,

So last night my S4 overheated and the management software I'm using at the moment cryptoglance didn't tell me and I don't think the S4 turned itself off it was still going when I got to it this morning.

Is there any remote management application that allows me to power down my miner when it gets too hot remotely?

Cheers!

The CGwatcher suite has a CGremote. I'm guessing that is what you would want. You could also set up port forwarding on your router, assuming its a good one and connect to your miners from the outside.

The easiest would be to setup Teamviewer and just RDP in a computer at home to access your local monitoring and control software. It would be like being at home.

Yes of course;
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.teamviewer.market.mobile&hl=en

I never tried it myself since i always have access to a PC or a Laptop, but i guess that could work for you, i just imagine you would have to use it through wifi, i'm guessing mobile connection could be laggy or too slow or bust your bandwidth, unless you have a high end internet contract on your cellphone.

Yes there is IOS and Android versions to do it.  You need to sign up for a team viewer account and link through the account.

After the computer is linked to account you can access it from phone.  With account you don't need temp credentials each time to log in.

Hold on but I still don't have any monitoring software that allows me to power down remotely?

Just looked at CGwatcher but it's dead in the water.

Just looked at CGwatcher but it's dead in the water.

The software i am am pointing you at is CGRemote.
CGwatcher is a watchdog program for a localhost miner so not exactly what you want.

But CGRemote is a paid software, also i'm a bit surprised you're saying Cryptoglance does not have a remote shutdown command. Anyways i tried cgremote and it mostly worked (not very will with the S1's) but it is (or was) paid software

With TeamViewer, you can connect to your miners as if you were there locally and enter the kill cgminer command in terminal. So if your miners are overheating or whatever, the miner software will stop, so the controller will idle(power down the chips) until you tell it to restart mining or reboot it.
