#1 Trolls and Shills are often seen Bloviating.

Bloviate: to talk at length, especially in an inflated or in an empty way.

Add your troll-spotting techniques below.  Who are the most notorious trolls?  And how successful do you think they actually are in affecting sentiment or influencing the direction of trades?

#1 Stupid People are often seen using stupid five-dollar words, explaining to us what those words mean in the following sentence.

Add your Stupid People-spotting techniques below.  Who are the most notorious Stupid People?  And how successful do you think they actually are in affecting sentiment or influencing the direction of trades?

You forgot to add:  Low post count with a history of inflammatory or useless posts that add nothing to the discussion at hand.  Also, a great way to filter is by childish or sophomoric nick's .  ;-)

They don't affect me in the slightest.  I usually ignore them unless they are so blatantly trolling they are comical and good for a chuckle.

In the future I'll refer people to this thread as an example of how to recognize bloviating.

They often have a nonsensical name, an avatar that portrays something that isn't political or a bitcoin logo and a joke in the signature and they frequently post one-liners that have a sarcastic undertone in them.

They use emotional arguments rather than logical ones and are constantly trying to get people riled up and into arguments.

Are you trying to be clever by claiming that the very nature of this thread is bloviating?  OK dude.  I'm just starting a humorous thread where we can have fun identifying trolls.

I do hope you're joking.  I always add support to my views on here. I started this as a fun thread to identify trolls who are always trying to convince newbs to dump their coins.

The correct response to trolls is to NOT RESPOND TO THEM. Click the little ignore button and pretend they do not exist. Never acknowledge them. They troll for attention, and denying them that is the only way to get rid of them.

Look inside yourself, and you will see that you are the bubble.

There's no shortage of non trolls who can pull that off with ease.

The thing that mystifies me about the trollish is the crashing lack of subtlety. Surely if you were truly committed to the cause you'd be carefully weaving your doom inside conventional posts.

It's the equivalent of trying to seduce a woman the first time you meet her by draping your cock across her top lip and bursting into tears.

Directness and honesty works best at times. Give it a shot Smiley
At other times, the seemingly artless is meant to appear that way to the dull and literal-minded. Perhaps a false flag? Jaredboice & this thread, for instance...
