Trying to trade here: http://exchange.zapto.org

And they make you use two step authentication

How do I do that with desktop?

I have a picture of the QR code they showed me and the url with some 'secret' thing :S

and i got this google java app that does some 'stuff'

but the code it gives me doesn't help me login to my account

http://blog.jcuff.net/2011/02/cli-java-based-google-authenticator.html

0.1BTC reward to who can help me get this working with only a desktop PC

exchange.zapto.org isn't loading for me.

I use this 2FA in Firefox: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/gauth-authenticator/ilgcnhelpchnceeipipijaljkblbcobl
https://github.com/gbraad/html5-google-authenticator/archive/master.zip

This thread doesn't really belong in this subforum either.

i used two different authenticators

found a 'secret' that the exchange gave me and that didn't produce the right authentication for me to login :S

do u know what HOTP vs TOTP is?

The one I linked to, you open the index.html, click the plus sign button in the top left corner, use any name for the account name, put the secret key in that they gave you, and every 30 seconds it shows a new one time pass. You should wait until the clock resets to 30 and enter the new pass in the website in those 30 seconds.

TOTP is the Google one, not sure what HOTP is.

okay they gave me a qr code and url

url thing was
otpauth://totp/username%40CryptoCoin%20Exchange?secret=ABCDEFGHIJK

of course username was mine and the ABCDE was a unique code

to just take the part after secret= right?

that didn't work for the authentication things I tried...

Does it have to load in the same browser you're trying to logon to?

No idea. Can't help without a site to replicate attempts.

I think this can only be done with a smartphone.

you may be able to run an android emulator and use the app from the appstore though? Just a thought.
