I am facing the same problems to explain to friends and family the importance of bitcoin in the financial future and the east in that this currency is changing all paradigms about money and governmental controls, but at least I try to give them the basis to be aware for the relevant events to come in the worldwide economy.

I think its not a waste of time at all.
First, all of my friends were kinda suspicious when i told them about a currency without any backing and just made with complex algorithms.
But after showing them how Bitcoin system works and showin them that u can buy real world stuff with it.. they kinda got interested.. even tho they didnt
get a wallet yet.. im sure they will anyday Smiley

Not waste time , just need to be patient to make them understand. It's not easy job mentioning technology to traditional old people.

No it is not waste of time because I do believe in Bitcoin and I am sure someday surely I will succeed to change their opinions about Bitcoin and already few of my friends begin to use Bitcoin with very small amount which is vey encouraging and big thing for me.

I've told my friends. They all appereantly already knew about it from their friend, but they hadn't made any step to start it themselves.

I've told a few people before but if I get the feeling that they're not interested, I drop the subject.

I used to mention it to every single person I talked to but it came to a point where they just didn't wanna hear it so I drop it.

Most people I talk to about bitcoin are people online anyways.

personally it really depends if your friends or family is computer literated I have friends who are computer literated when I tell them about bitcoins and explain to them what is bitcoin? and what is it for? they understand it quickly however when i tell it to my friend who are not that literated when it comes to computer they just laugh at me and accuse me as a scammer , now see the difference ,just tell bitcoin to those friend  or family that shows interest on it otherwise just don't mention it.

it would be better if you keep them update on how youre doing with bitcoin if you earn enough bitcoin and
exchange it with your local money in decent amount they may get interested. in short word give them a demonstration
on how to eran money with bitcoin.

Just simple analogy when you want to try introduce bitcoin starting with your own family, friend , etc

They ask me why I spend so much time getting excited about internet money.
Explain that for that "internet money' you can purchase anything you want, and if you want, you can exchange that 'virtual' currency to USD, EUR or any FIAT you wish.
Ask them if they use internet and if they even heard about internet 20 years ago. It will be same story with bitcoin.

It is an easy conversation starter, especially at this time of year when you have family get togethers around the holidays starting this week.
And to be honest, who doesn't like talking about money and currency when it is increasing at a good rate.
Good news is always the best news to talk about with the in-laws.

It would be easy if they understood what bitcoin was and what the concept really is. I've met people who couldn't wrap their minds around the fact that it was a digital currency and something that they wouldn't be able to hold on to physically.

It is a good thing to have your friends, family and anyone who is close to you know about bitcoin. The reason is where we are heading to will be highly dominated with bitcoins and other forms of digital currency. Inform them will also make those who are interested in the trading pull a stand. There are people who are willing to invest in almost everywhere but have no clue of what happens around. be a mentor to such like persons and they will live to celebrate you always.

Hmm but he is asking if it waste of time mentioning, but I know what you mean.

But let say your mom or father don't give a fk about bitcoin so I think is just a waste of your time right mentioning it?

Of course it is not waste of time. The more people know about bitcoin the more successful it will be. It is really that simple.
