the 8btc will run at nicehash and westhash.
I will try 400 th for 3 coins fixed at each one cost of 6 coins
leaves us 2 coins left. and 800th across the two pools for a day
I will hold back with the two coins and then do 1 coin on each site .
spending the 8 coins by the weekend.
In in theory we get 8btc the little bit extra 1% is my fee to run it.
prize if hit is 25 - ck take's .125
= 24.875 coins
8 shares = ⅛ of 24.875 or 3.109375 each.
block fees will be split into 10 shares.
1/10 to each of the 8 of us.
and the rest to ck as a tip.
so if fees are .20
each share gets .02
and ck get 2 of them at .04
my one share is divided:
is me at .65/1.00 65%
jacobmayes at .25/1.00 25%
and Solare at .1/1.00 10%
Quote
1- Philipma1957- I will sub-set jacobmayes and Solare at .2525 and at .101
Regular 1BTC guys:
2- Ziploc 1.01 3- wmtomlinso 1.01 4-jxz 1.01 5-dtmcnamara 1.01 6-PrivacyBTC 1.01 7-page14 1.01 8-Chris_Sabian 1.01
small guys 0.1BTC:
Quote 1-jacobmayes94 ===> 0.2.525BTC 2-Solare====>0.101BTC
we have a total of 8.0735 coins
the .0735 is the fee me to run it 1% up front.

When do we transfer the coins? I am 30 weeks behind reindexing my core and thus my wallet after a power outage so might be a few hours yet you mention 0.1 so I have basically 3 shares (almost) of 0.1 at 0.29? Jacob

Ok Everyone,
Before you start sending coins everywhere. Let's take the chance to type everything up into a post so everyone knows what, when, and who is going on. That way there is no confusion. A difference in a few hours won't hurt anything.
-Philipma1957, since you are 'running' the pool, would you post the payouts, chances, players, etc?

I use my core so I can use a full node to help support the network, it was only a power failure that lead me to have to reindex it
What do you mean by mine subset? are us small ones pooling together to make 1BTC?
If we do the math, as I am gambling say 0.29 BTC what is outcome for me if it hits 1 block, or possibly two? for example no block = lost of course 1 block = X.XXX BTC 2 blocks = double the first...
I will wait until you have the break down as mentioned and then who am I sending my coins to? Just to double check it is 3DtrgsQnGcZ7SqGGdMDe9nYfKrNoYWnSyH Currently still reindexing so the few hours wait is okay

I might need a few hours cause my core is reindexing
I increased CPU priority in hopes of speeding it up! As it involves calculations as part of this, I wonder if the core developers could make use of a GPU to assist in the reindex process as it isn't just downloading the blockchain but validating it?

If by the deadline we miss some players I don't see any harm to replace them....
as for adding new ones.... If we review terms: hash/time I don't see a problem
however it's not only my decision......all who already payed under original terms, would have to agree....

Yeah waiting can sometimes make us lose lower prices. The good thing is we can still wait a bit more. We have sloopy waiting in the wings. I am going to check back in an hour on the last two guys. Then we can figure out when to start.

Thanks for trying to work me in, it is very much appreciated.

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function. Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

you can put in as long as we did not hit a block which so far we have not. we still have coins to play 1.5 and time on the meter for the 700th 19 hours or so. the math is easier if you put the .505 btc in we go back up to the 8 coins we planned on. make sure to let us know asap. {"hashrate1m": "694T", "hashrate5m": "690T", "hashrate1hr": "686T", "hashrate1d": "125T", "hashrate7d": "19.5T", "lastupdate": 1447493994, "workers": 7, "shares": 2780798241, "bestshare": 4,072,399,009.0212584} just did a 4 bill share

no all it is how close the share submitted matched the network difficulty. The high share is utterly worthless and is just like any other share before it that doesn't solve a block but its that it was a share that came close to the 65 billion needed. When I rented hash I got a 7B share within a few seconds but never had one greater during the hours I rented it.
With EVERY hash generated and share submitted it either solves a block (So greater than 65billion) or doesn't solve a block (lower than 65 billion)

Thanks! So is there should be chance for this experiment to reach 65b?

yes with the hashrate. tbf even someone CPU mining could produce a 65B hash. With every block found the attempt to 'brute force' the block restarts with different work for the new one. We just have loads and loads of raffle tickets available! I would say its a raffle and lottery combo because there is more than one solution per block.
This is like 500TH for example, so 500 trillion attempts per second to solve, a CPU would be 100kH or similar for example, or 500Mh for a GPU or 333MH for some older block erupters. Someone pulled a 2 billion share from a USB stick miner at 5Gh/s.
Each attempt to solve the block is independent of the last, each 500 trillion attempts to solve the block is independent of the previous one. Akin to a roulette table or coin toss, each result is independent of the last. The S3 solver who was adamant he would solve one I did think the law of attraction played a role, but then again I am a big believer in the law of attraction. But I won't add philosophies to here because many would probably prefer hard data! You could power on a miner and solve it today, tomorrow, several months. In theory, the entire network could wait a year to solve one, in theory only. You may notice sometimes blocks get solved a couple of minutes apart, sometimes theres an hour or more between blocks. For that hour miners were still brute-forcing the same work.

When you consider there could be a share worth 2^224 in the endgame... "max target / n" or as it is now; 63B doesn't seem like such a big number...
But there are SOOOOOOOOO many fewer chances to hit those higher shares.
I am surprised I regularly see 20M and 100+M shares on both my antminer U3 and my S3. Must be a lucky address; though I have yet to hit a block myself.
The raffle ticket analogy is great; aside from your number not being called. But the problem is you don't know what number will be on your ticket till you get it. And the number needs to only be equal or greater than a baseline number.

I do not think I can do the math on the value of your hash. So if we hit I would not know what your share would be. Maybe both of us will hit a block. Separately Good luck

Guys I have a point to discus , But plz philip dont understand me wrong , Its just a point
If we pay a fee to you to manage this rental, and you only create an fixed order then you go . anyone can do that
I think your main work is to rent @ best cheap price like 0.0071 or 0.0072 and monitor this order to ensure that it alive .
But you just create fixed order @ 0.0076 . we can save more and got about 2 extra hours if we rent @ 0.0072
My idea is to create fixed order @ 100 TH AND create another standard order 600TH @ 0.0071 and monitor it

I think your main work is to rent @ best cheap price like 0.0071 or 0.0072 and monitor this order to ensure that it alive .
But you just create fixed order @ 0.0076 . we can save more and got about 2 extra hours if we rent @ 0.0072
My idea is to create fixed order @ 100 TH AND create another standard order 600TH @ 0.0071 and monitor it
His (very small) fee is justified by his reputation, not just the amount of work he puts in. I'll gladly chip in 0.01 to know that if we hit I will get my reward.

fee was discussed upfront... fixed hash because of time....the difficulty is going up... and managing the payments isn't easy.....specially with unequal shares...

We can pay more if he accept to handle this
7.5 btc - my .65 = 6.85 btc fee was 1% or .0685 that is 20 bucks so for 20 bucks I give hours of labor and I safe guard 7.5btc so that it gets spent correctly on the hash. If we win I send it out correctly. Now you have a fair point about what is correct price for the easy service vs the price hunting service. 1% for what I agreed to do for this seems more then fair to me. As 20 bucks for 2-3 hours of labor and fund safely managed is low cost. To hunt for cheap rentals and manage them is much more time consuming. Bots suck at it compared to hands on scanning of all orders. and nice-west hash changed the formats the change makes my work harder as it hides info that was available. ie remaining time on all orders was viewable and is now hidden. This reason is the single biggest reason I don't want to hunt for best price. I could explain it in detail but simply put I could view the btc left on orders ahead of my orders and decide to stay put or go higher. This is now hidden to me and the rest of us. It was not perfect info since a guy with 100th and .000002 btc left could add more coin. Still the info helped a lot when bargain hunting. Also I resent that the pool op of nice/west hash could view it and make decisions based on better info then anyone else. When I manage my own rentals it is not a big factor as i go low and if out bid I wait. For our group waiting days if prices are high can be annoying. I also find the constant decision making to confuse the partners. right now the lowest order on nicehash is .0073 not .0071 see screen shot

the reason .0073 is the lowest not .0071 is a guy has no limit at .0072 that will make the .0071 order go away.
if we go in at .0071 we get zip and wait
if we go in at .0072 we are under the no limit guy and sit and wait.
if we do .0073 we start now.
BTW .0073 is 'odds in our favor'
When I would go for best price I may do 20 orders each one has a tiny fee. I may check 1000 times in 2 or 3 days. And I may make the group wait 2 or 3 or 4 days with no hash running. it is hard to do.

I would be willing to do a pair of non fixed orders with some of our remaining 1.5 btc
I could set it at .0071 and .0072 and hope that the no limit guy drops out and gives us some cheaper hash.
I could do 250th at .0071 .5 btc and it would sit
I could do 250th at .0072 .5 btc and it would sit
we would have .5btc left over
It is possible rentals drop and we get some cheaper hash.
lets do some math on this.
pretend we do it and it works
.0071 would be 6.76 hours of hash time .0072 would be 6.67 hours of hash time .0076 would be 6.32 hours of hash time

the unfixed orders have way more change on these stats then fixed.
So sometimes if I have a dog order say -5% or -10% I cancel the order or maybe drop from 370th to 5th then go back and boost to 370th.
translation a lot of work and time but on 7.5btc you could save 10% on a dog order or gain 5% on a good order.

not bad at all i went and checked again westhash is + 2.41%------------------- I leave well enough alone nice hash is -0.56% ------------------- I only worry at -10% net for all 740th since we switched is 1%. and we also are paying .0073 vs .0076 which is 3 percent so in terms of improvement in cost we gained 4%. was it smart to do this well if we hit a block it is good and we have a profit. won't know if the other way would have made 2 blocks but we still did a profit who cares. if we don't we will never know if staying pat until the fixed order ran down to zero then spend the 1.5 on a second fixed would have been better. or if no matter what we did we simply would not of hit a block.

now comes a new choice if I look at the westhash order #781525 I am paying .0073 there is finally enough cushion under me to drop to .0072 and not zero out for being too low. So should I do it. well .0072 is cheaper then .0073 so a bot would do it. I have a second factor to look at at the .0073 level I am getting extra hash I look and it is at +1.82% that 1.82% is more savings then dropping from .0073 to .0072 which is 1.389% so I stand pat . and review in 5 minutes or so. screen shots for above

philipma1957 - thanks for doing this, and I'm ok with however you choose to manage the order.
That being said, don't concentrate too much on the +/- speed that nicehash shows. Only the speed paying really matters. The +/- percentages result from the estimations based on the different diff levels between miners<->nicehash and nicehash<->solo.ck.
The difference between the two numbers should approach zero as time goes on.

Thanks for sharing.

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function. Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

more chance but someone hit a block with his S3 with a 61B share at 0.45TH in two weeks. less than 1/500th of what we have. A lot of it is luck and destiny lol. We have a much higher 'chance' but lets see what the block gods have in store Our share was close, but that is the 'best share. All our other shares since could be 1,000 or 1m for all we know. Jacob

Just woke up I saw the 62 bill share oh well. here is the little bit of good news. the 1 hour on one and the 23 minutes on the other are extra time due to switching from fixed to manual. so if we hit it will be due to the switch. we pulled a 57 bill and a 62 bill if it was sept 4th we would have hit for 2 blocks.

Just woke up I saw the 62 bill share oh well.
here is the little bit of good news.
the 1 hour on one and the 23 minutes on the other are extra time due to switching from fixed to manual.
so if we hit it will be due to the switch.
we pulled a 57 bill and a 62 bill if it was sept 4th we would have hit for 2 blocks.
that what I meant by difficulty increase....every time it jumps...it's getting harder and harder to hit a block...

we had a total of 8.0735 coins Yes ? then minus 3.78 we should still have 4.29BTC left ? is that correct ?

The total above is what we spent on west hash 2 order. Since nice hash has not finished I have not place the totals spent in a few minutes you will get that number. here it is 3.76 for nicehash

I'm asking because if there's some left we will have to decide what we do....more hash and less time OR less hash and more time

A grand total of 3.78 + 3.76 = 7.54 spent on four orders
2 fixed >>>> we ended early as the screenshot show
2 manual >>>> we ran to the end.
I spent extra from my fees of 0.0685 which is why we went over the 7.5 we collected.

Yeah we were close to a nice score. 2 blocks would have been nice.
I may do this after Thanksgiving.
But I will take a break from this for now.
