There are a lot of new websites related to gambling and pornography in the Bitcoin world. But most of them are junk (IMO) having less quality in-terms of usability and user interface.

I am sure that I read somewhere that theymos (the forum admin) was ready to pay thousands of BTC for the new forum software which is under development. Does anyone know anything more about it?

I personally value bitcointalk.org to be around BTC10,000. Do you guys have any idea about how much bitcoin related websites are valued out there? Feel free to add your two cents. Smiley

To be honest with you, there isn't a website that actually estimates a worth of any websites accurately, some do estimate way below the worth and some does the opposite. For instance I made a website before and payed around $15 then and didn't do anything at all to it and after a week when I check the worth of it , it was staed on some $37 and on some others $22 which both are wrong so it's useless to depend the worth of any website on any online website worth calculator

A similar thread regarding the worth of this website while back: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1129578.20

I agree that it takes more than a formula to estimate a website's worth. I personally would consider criteria like code maintainability, technology stack used, UI/UX apart from the obvious ones like the idea, domain value and traffic.

I believe bitcointalk.org to be worth millions of dollars considering the fact that it is the key player in the crypto currency world while still believing that crypto currency is the Harry Potter of the money world.

that's because the traffic the website is getting and nothing else , I'm not sure if it's right or not but I heard that the domain "Bitcoin.com" is worth one million dollar , so it's far away from 80k USD but still ... Bitcointalk should worth more then that .

The site www.btc.com was bough by GAW miner CEO for 1 million. No idea what he wanted to do with it. Everybody knows him as a big scammer with zencloud and paycoin.
The site is a blockchain viewer at the moment.

All (bitcoin related) websites are as much worth as a buyer is willing to pay (and the seller is willing to accept).  Grin

If you think you can make a lot of income from some website, why not buy it for more (if you have the fundings)...

It's like art:
Some see shit, which can be drawn by a monkey...others think's it's art and worth millions.
 Roll Eyes

Also, with the Bitcoin community:
any site/service who started early at the beginning does have an advantage over new sites/services/concepts.

For instance this forum: it's the shittiest forum (qua look-and-feel) but has a large community no Bitcoin forum could ever surpass, because of the headstart it had.

There are plenty of sites for sale on Flippa. I think 90% do not sell and most seem to have been built just to be sold ie flipped.

Spot on!

The site is a blockchain viewer at the moment.

He can do a lot of things holding one of the top domains in the bitcoin world. If he bought it for just $1 million, I would say he got lucky.  Cool

I totally agree bitcointalk is much more valuable than them.Considering the amount if traffic we get here and the quality of reviews/services offered by dedicated members of this forum makes it more valuable .In the bitcoin market you can barely find anything which doesn't have its place here on this forum.

website value also depend to the traffic, page rank and visibility on search engine so you can't really say exactly the price except what the owners price. Flippa's price may not be true as well. Try selling it there and you will probably called scam by people

I think that number was made up. Same as Josh Garza claimed he bought the zencloud for 8M dollar.

When his scam was announced, the previous owner Eric said it was all a marketing stunt.

I suppose if Theymos fixed the UI of this forum, it might even be worth more than ten thousand bitcoin. The traffic is high quality and diverse, there are some great donators to, which give a great deal for a colored coin on their profile.

looking for a signature campaign, dm me for that

It wont happen as the new million dollar bitcoin forum is soon to come so we can expect much more there but not on the current one

Definitely the gambling websites.  If you look at their sweeps you can see the amount of transactions going in and roughly 30% of that they retain.  Also, the exchanges I would think would be highly valued bitsamp, coinbase etc.  Gambling and exchanges have to be the highest valued as of now.

I think some social networks might be worth something if they could implement more modern feature sets along with some micro-tipping. Zapchain have a good thing going so far.

Searchtrade is also another quite interesting website also that might be worth quite a bit.

btc.com could be worth more than a million in the next years to come, its an investment for him, it don't matter now if he has the scammers reputation so long as his domain has doubled or trippled its value, its an investment for him. he probably have seen its value since the start.
