Most people have more money than they are willing to reveal that's why you have the impression people here don't invest. I'm sure that many signature campaign posters own a lot of coins. I saw some of them bragging they were able to get 1 coin a month purely from the campaigns.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I got in too late to be part of the 21 coin club, but I am hoping I can get to 10.

Well see, depends all on price if we stay under 500 for a year I may be able to pull it off.

Anyone here has 21 BTC or more? I see some people aiming for that as a long term goal and long term hold, I also would like to reach this amount, that is why I hope for the price to stay as low as possible so it's easier to achieve, if it keeps growing it will be impossible for me. I still don't even have 2 figures. There is just something great knowing that you are part of only 1 million people to ever own 21 BTC, I would like that.

I'm curious why you have taken this figure (21 bitcoin) and not another. For example 17.5 bitcoin or 23.4532 bitcoin? What has special this figure or this amount in bitcoin? Maybe I am missing something but I cannot see any special thing in  this figure or amount. Anyhow it is not this the aim of the thread. Me to don't have such amount. And see difficult to arrive at that amount at except of the going well of 2 or 3 investments made with normal money and with bitcoin. If can go well that with money will have enough to buy such amount and more. If goes well the others with bitcoin with have more than amount in bitcoin and wouldn't have the need to buy nothing. Then at the market will benever 21 million bitcoin and never there will be one million people which will own all the bitcoins and for more in equal amount like you intend in your post.

im looking forward to joining the club in the future, but right now im only sitting at around 2 btc, almost 10% of the way there  Tongue.

Sounds like the rest of the 90% here lol.

I think most people are holding 5 btc average, and anything beyond 10 btc youre not average.

Yes, this is the sentiment I got as well from reading through the thread. I expected that people around here have more bitcoins quite honestly!

Me too, it is incredibly surprising how few bitcoins people own here. I can't tell whether it's because people here simply don't have the money or they don't want to put their money where their mouth is.
Most likely the latter; people are usually unwilling to invest a lot of money into something they don't truly believe in, or if it makes a significant change in their wealth.

People here say that Bitcoin is the future, but a lot of them don't want to truly buy many Bitcoins with the money that they have.

Not many people have a few thousand lying around ready to be thrown at something that could vapourise.

That is the problem of fiat currency. Because it is inflationary, people tend to spend it instead of saving.
You prefer the odds of fiat money that will for sure vaporize slowly?

- You can figure out what will happen, not when /Warren Buffett
- Pay any Bitcoin address privately with a little help of Monero.

On the 1 million club (2015):
21 bitcoins is a nice and decent amount to have, ...

On the Vladimir club (2012):
Vladimir has stated that he thinks BTC2100 coins is a good number to acquire going forward.

Ah, how times change.

Ah, how times change.

3 year is the difference and that is a huge difference in the value of bitcoin. To be part of this club we should have saved money and invest in bitcoin now because the price is rising (+15$ today)

I think more than enough to hold them, currently they worth ~34k but if the price reaches more than 1k then they could worth $100k, btw in which club means you are Tongue

I have 90 now, Good enough I guess.

You have much more than I do! Then again you have a year of advantage on me in the Bitcoin world, if your registration date in your profile is when you first heard about Bitcoin.

Unfortunately I have heard of it while it has broken $1,000. I was quite late to the party!

Hold on tight on them!
