It's honestly the first thing I check when I get up and even sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night.  I have to stop making it my habit also but it is pretty hard not to when the price jumps up $100-200 in a day.

Price hasn't jumped $100-200 in two years, so what are you talking about???

It's was in the high 2s and then went to 500 beginning of November. I'd say that's a significant jump. It might not have been one day still a big jump. Have you been asleep?

Although I am holding for Bitcoins for long term but I do same like you start my day with checking price of Bitcoin just for curiosity even it doesn't matter.It is kind addiction to see where the price are which I like to do every morning and ever night before sleep.

Same, every morning I hope the price jumps to $400-$500 or even more.. When the price was around $230 some thought the price would hit its lowest $100, what happened is the opposite.

Me to have the same hope for the moment. But for another reason. I have made (without knowing that which would happen then) an investment in bitcoin. The website promise a good profit in time and seemed a serious website. They accepted even bitcoin. But them "worked" (to earn the profit) with us dollar and give the profit in us dollar. So you send bitcoin. They automatically were converted in us dollar after the receiving of those at the website and you see only us dollar at your dashboard. Then they give the promised profit in us dollar and when you send it to your e-wallet (obligatory in the bitcoin gateway) these are converted again in the moment in bitcoin and arrive in the e-wallet in bitcoin. But if during the time when the invested bitcoin are in "work" the price of bitcoin increases all your profit is lost. You will have less bitcoin than in the case when the price was lower. So, if the price go higher and higher you (me) even can lose. So for a while I hope that the price remain at the same level. And bitcoin seems that are "hearing" me. Was stable for ten months. Now he find the time to be increased about 10% since my first investment day. If will continue in this way, bye, bye not only profits but even my beginning amount of bitcoin. Bad luck!

Last days, every morning the price is different from the last night, check BTC price is one of the first things I do in the morning.

I constantly check the price wherever I am. If I'm out, then my phone is my best friend. At home I have the bitcoinwisdom live charts open nearly 24 hours a day. Purely because the runup to the block halving is what will cause the comming months to be more than interesting. I don't want to miss any of that

On my smartphone I have four widgets for four markets, keeping me updated all the time.
Luckily, on my computer I have nothing, only bitcoincharts or some similar website. It's better for it not to distract me from my work.

My understanding is that it is bad for your mental health to check the value of your investments too often.

This is because the happiness experienced by an increase in price is less than the unhappiness experienced by an equal decrease in price. The net effect over time is to make us more depressed then if we never checked (assuming an approximately stable price of course).

I try and limit myself to NEVER checking during the week. It is a little treat to myself at weekends that I can check it. Unfortunately it is often not possible to stick to this as I visit bitcoin sites daily to check the news and the gossip etc, and many of these sites mention the price, a lot even have the price prominently displayed on the header. I would far prefer it if non-exchange or price specific sites gave users an option to hide the price if it is prominently displayed.
