Why is gambling so addicting?

   Gambling has always been addictive especially if you have experience on winning and when you feel that you are lucky in that day but the reality is that we really don't know when we are lucky and if you are able to win some more or as you said lose it all. Greed is also has been in our nature as humans, we all can't deny that we went greedy at some point of our lives because we all have it. We want more than what we already have, Think about some of those millionaires who have the enough money and everything but they still want more than they have which cause them to go bankrupt and go broke. That actually happened to my gf's grandfather they have all the money they have and they have a hotel and etc. but they got greedy they started gambling and eventually they bet their hotel and lost everything they have. So I do think that if you want to gamble you need to control yourself and don't be greedy that's because you can lose all you fortune.

I guess that's an essential part of it, it's probably due to the excitement and hormones and making the brain hooked to the idea of making profit, I'm sure there is a long scientific explanation, but it's really a form of addiction nowadays and it's viewed as such.

Thats what Im feeling as well, this is how I keep on playing despite I keep on losing money however I have now reduced the amount that I play. In the end everything is just so much more better because I dont have to worry about losing alot of money when I play and that is very relaxing

You have won in self control and that is a very important skill, there are some that never learn that and in my opinion people like that should never gamble even once since they run the risk of becoming addicted very fast to something like gambling that will test their mental fortitude.

Yeah i know that feeling. Your mind is telling you to stop and don't give in but your body reacts in thr opposite. It's either you're having way too much fun, or you've lost a big amount and would want to chase it back or you're just being too greedy and is expecting to win more.

i am very glad that he can self control in gambling games because not every gamblers can do this and still its hard to do. i admitted that self control is the one thing that we should have and should learn. with so many games in gambling and with self control, i think we can handle from the big loss and we can avoid to get broke so fast.

The key of getting away from all those silly gambling addiction is determination. Self controlling yourself not to gamble for few days is not good enough. If you want to stop then stop completely otherwise there is no reason to stop playing for awhile. Some people think they are free of the addiction although they are literally only stopping for awhile

Self-control is the key to getting away from all types of gambling. The temptation of gambling comes from within and also there is a social stimulation. But if the person is willing to stop gambling then no one can make them gamble. But if the person wants to gamble no one can stop them from gambling. Hence its totally on the individual's choice whether to gamble or not.

While that may be a factor I really doubt, it is really the major factor, after all anyone should realize after some time of being addicted to gambling that they are not getting any richer and instead they are getting poorer, and even if they try to not realize that reality, their family and friends will be always there to remind them of their bad situation.

that is the fact i agree with you , but addiction wipe it all. make you have to forget and ignore all of it. if you thinking deeper then you should found that interesting fact as a reason to stop to gamble immediately but well it is always hard to accept it.

to gamble in regular basis in no matter what reason, no matter what happened always make you better even for a while.

Yeah that's what most people do they always chasing their loses thinking that they can get their money when they win. Which is not really good because they are getting poorer and ruin their lives.

You haven't seen? If you want to see people that are addicted to gambling with that figure, you can simply google everything or a keyword about it. I've been reading different cases of gambling addiction and those people from rags to riches, riches to rags, & after winning came back to old lifestyle because of his aim of chasing his losses.

It may sounds weird and crazy but it is literally not like that all time. People that keeps on coming back doesnt mean that they are addicted, some people are just going there to go and find some money. When they got the money they leave or either way when they lose that means they are done for the day

Yeah, human mind always agonize to get back what's lost. But in this run people once again go out of control placing big amount to get back the entire loss in a short. When this too fails, the loss experienced ​will be big and so the gambling continues hoping for a retain of the loss making the user addicted.

yes we can not say regular gambler is addicted to gambling. Maybe they play only how much they can afford and when they lose they will stop or when they reached target amount they withdraw that amount and make money. Anything can be possible. Who will make separate time and play gambling this kind of people we call they are addicted gambler.
