As per my opinion, Social media marketing takes a big role if you want to promote or sell something on local or globally.
Start to convince all local retailers through SMM to accept Bitcoins.

When there's SMM involve that's all about advertising of such service and I don't think we need it for bitcoin's acceptance and encouragement for local business just to adopt bitcoin. We just need to have some small talk and take time to let them know that bitcoin is something that we can use for their business and at the same time for investment too so it's a 3 in 1 for them. Currency, payment method and investment.

I think if you manage to tell them there won't be no fees like no structure behind to regulate the transactions and slow it down, no intermediates well yes they might accept this whole thing. But don't just go there trying to explain them this whole thing, they wouldn't understand.

i would do it simple, tell them the advantages of bitcoin, the fact about very low or zero fee, and the fact that is less trouble some than fiat

you can also add that the payment and confirmation can be instant, if they ask about it, just need to work with an off chain system liek bitpay

I live in Lithuania, EU member state, and i can see more vendors accepting bitcoin, most of the bigger electronic good sellers accept bitcoin now

Yes the fact is if you will brief the things related to bitcoin and crypto currency to anyone in your social circle in the best possible way and in a way which can help them in learning the things more efficiently, then they will listen to you as this is thing which will help them at the end in making more money. You can also give them those websites that are related to bitcoin and that's going to give them an idea about bitcoin. Lack of knowledge is the first problem that we will face when it comes to encouraging these local businesses but once they already know what they are taking that will give them some idea on what bitcoin really is and in the end they might be encouraged alone.

It's not as easy as you think, they're not going to start accepting because one person wants to pay with it, with time more people will start to use BTC and then it will happen automatically but still you can plant the idea in their head and explain to them what it is but only if they seem interested.

Better idea is if you use some online stores/services tell them how you would have loved to pay with bitcoin.

The thing is how you will encourage them and tell them the advantages of bitcoin. If you are really want to uplift the cryptobusiness near you then you have to do something like to sacrifice few of your mBTC and show them on how bitcoin transactions are working for those who wants to get in. Also tell them the pros and cons of having it, focus mainly with the volatility of it as if they are enthusiasts and economists they will understand the positivity and advantage of it.

If the government accepts bitcoin in the deal, convincing local businesses is not too difficult if you let them understand the blockchain application for payment. But if your government does not accept bitcoin in the deal then this is really a big problem for your team.

I think it is more up to the government to specify bitcoin as an official mean of payment. Governments can e.g. lower taxes for businesses using bitcoin for their transactions to stimulate the use of bitcoin. In reality, more and more governments are taking measurements against bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies because they are losing control of al the transaction details etc, and that needs to be prevented by pointing out the significant advantages of paying with cryptocoins.
