It's not dead. We are getting very close to mainnet launch.

Please PM user BreakoutCoin for an invitation to the slack channel. Unfortunately our most neglected aspect is marketing right now.

We have regular updates on slack. There has been some news lately, but only those in slack know what is happening. We can't be public at this moment.

Testnet Distribution Dry Run: Version 1.2.3.0 Upgrade

The testnet distribution dry run is live and requires the new 1.2.3.0 client.

1. Go here and download the latest client:
https://github.com/multicurrency/Breakout-Releases/blob/master/README.md

2. To get your first coin sale testnet coins, open your client, let it sync, then select "File->Import Encrypted Wallet Key" (or similar). See first pic below. The chain is long because of short block times for the test net. It will take a few minutes to import your keys as it scans for transactions. Be patient.

3. If you are staking like crazy, you can see the coins you were sent in the "Transactions" tab and choose the "Received With" filter (right pull down filter, see second pic).

4. Balances from the first coin sale are at http://chain.breakoutcoin.com/balances/. These balances do not reflect the 20% bonus.

5. The amounts you get for the dry run reflect the 20% bonus, and come in two transactions: (a) the face-value amount you purchased in the first coin sale and (b) the 20% bonus on top of your purchase.

I'm back!

I have updated the Breakout Chain client in a lot of ways. See the full list here:

https://github.com/BreakoutCoin/Breakout-Chain-Client/releases/tag/v1.7.3.0

Windows and macOS downloads are available.

Reply to this thread if you want to build the CLI from scratch and need some instructions. I'll try to post instructions shortly.

Mining SIS is now easy. Either using the CLI or in the Help console in the GUI, just use the command

Code:
setgenerate true 1

The last number is the number of cores you will min with. For example, this mines with 4 cores:

Code:
setgenerate true 4

To stop mining, use this command:

Code:
setgenerate false

Further interaction about Breakout Chain should be in the present thread from now on.

Please upgrade to the latest release.

HERE: https://github.com/BreakoutCoin/Breakout-Chain-Client/releases/tag/v1.9.2.0

This release is the product of a full consensus audit using Claude Opus 4.8. It hardens both PoW and PoS and fixes some bugs.

See the files in /doc/release-notes for a full list of changes.

Please Upgrade ASAP.

New Bug Fix Release v1.9.3.0

Please upgrade to the latest release.

HERE: https://github.com/BreakoutCoin/Breakout-Chain-Client/releases/tag/v1.9.3.0

This release fixes a bug that affects people who upgrade to a consensus change, after the change is scheduled.

If you already upgraded to v1.9.1.0 or later without issue, then this upgrade is not required, but it is encouraged.

New Sync Bug Fix Release v1.9.6.0

Please upgrade to the latest release.

HERE: https://github.com/BreakoutCoin/Breakout-Chain-Client/releases/tag/v1.9.6.0

This release is worthy of an announcement here. It fixes a bug when a new client syncs from the network. Before this release, peers would submit valid new blocks, but the client validates these new blocks as if the client were fully synced. This behavior both rejects good blocks, and also bans well behaved peers, quickly leaving the client without a source for the blockchain and ultimately unable to get a full sync.

This upgrade is recommended for all users because it can prevent long stalls in cases where a client falls behind, such as in a power failure, etc.
