Hi Phin, thanks for your positive comments and contributions.
I followed the link but I am still unclear about the definition of 'Three-pronged Attack'.
I always have been, but I think it's mostly a reference to Bruce Wagner and his, now infamous, BS as the self-appointed representative of all things Bitcoin.
|
"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."
- Carroll Quigley, CFR member, mentor to Bill Clinton, from 'Tragedy And Hope'

Multi-vector attack. Named after a method made famous by Bruce Wagner [ for soliciting sex from "boys" ] which includes indirect techniques combined with more direct ones.

genesis block is the first block of the blockchain released on Jan 4, 2009.
escrow service is one that holds payments made for a service and releases them to the intended recipient only after it has been verified that the recipient has kept his end of the deal.
A tumbler, or Bitcoin laundry, is a service that allows people to put their bitcoins in and then randomly hands them back and equal (perhaps minus a small fee) amount of bitcoins from someone else. These new bitcoins cannot be traced back to the old ones through the blockchain except by the tumbler operator themselves.

Editors gonna edit. Also although I know the definition for 'My Little Pony' I enjoyed your definition of 'Brony' so much that I thought I'd ask you to author this one as well.
Feel free to credit/blame me for any of the definitions I submit. I just thought of another one related to business... PR - Public Relations, "Public relations is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics." Something sorely lacking in some, if not many, Bitcoin businesses. I won't mention any names - I probably don't have to - but I feel Slush gives a good example of the right way to do it. Every day people are asking me how they can help us with this project. That's why I published this donation address, because in bitcoin world, sending even small donation is the easiest way to explain someone's support and interest. Time for preorders will come later, when we'll be absolutely sure that we can fulfill our obligations.

taint jelly - jealous Randian - Follower of the views of Ayn Rand ( I will bite my tongue and not share my opinion of her "philosophy" ) TANSTAAFL - there ain't no such thing as a free lunch faucet - site which gives out free coin to get newbies started ( or generate revenue from ads ), after Gavin Andresen's original Bitcoin Faucet ( currently closed ). "shut up and take my money!" bitcoind Krugman fallacy - The view that Bitcoin will not succeed because of its deflationary nature: People will "hoard" it instead of spending it, expecting it to raise in value later. Counter argument: While there will always be some who prefer to "save" their coin expecting it to increase in value, Bitcoin is valuable not because it is some rare, shiny, historical store of value like gold but because it is 'useful' as a digital protocol which allows fast, secure, decentralized, pseudonymous, p2p, transactions... etc.

@MAC Thank you very much for taking the time to post, your words are encouraging, as I have been wondering if anybody actually found this thread to be useful. Although all the entries on the list are common on the forum, some of the definitions are indeed humorous as humour is something that is also common on this forum. If you have any ideas about how this list may be improved, then please let me know. @Portnoy Thank you for your continued effort Added - 'Taint', 'Jelly', 'Randian', 'TANSTAAFL', 'Faucet', 'Bitcoind' & 'Krugman Fallacy' Although I have edited down your definition of 'Krugman Fallacy'. What can I say, editors gonna edit Also added - 'Ask', 'Bid', 'Limited Order', 'Market Order', 'Wall', 'Martingale', 'Vanity Address', 'Vanity Generator' & 'Brain Wallet'
