It would actually depend on how you set up your account. If your password is the same as your password on other website and one of those other websites gets their passwords leaked, then your account will probably be in danger. Otherwise, everything should be fine. This is basically the same as fiat. If you just leave your fiat in the streets, then it would surely be stolen. But if you make sure that it's safe and secure, then you should face no problem at all.
yeah i think bitcoin security will depend on how you secure your account and your wallet itself, is it you're using a lot of security for your wallet or not. Thats the important thing
definitely right, since there's no insurance for bitcoin yet and the freedom which given to you also giving you the option to set up the security by your own and will, this is the weakness point if the bitcoin holder was a newbie in using bitcoin and don't know what to do

In my point of view, Bitcoin is safe as long you put your
btc in a private wallet. It is secure but its good to not put
all your money in one online wallet. Thus, all are risks,
abd dont put your eggs in one basket.
I think to deposit bitcoin itself is arguably safer because you can use the wallet to securely store, which makes bitcoin unsafe, fluctuations imo

as the principle of bitcoin are like be your own bank yeah it has negative side
but everything has negative side right? even fiat and any other currency
instead a lot of bad or negative side bitcoin still have more benefit and it is our pride to have it
and for a newbie or non tech savvy they may still can learn even required a lot of time.

Bitcoin is safe depends how we are secured our wallets.. there is many types of securing our wallet but i stay in 2factor authetication it is good if you are using online wallets or even desktop wallet like in electrum.. its more safe for me to have 2factor authentication.. sms or google verification..

I think bitcoin provide a great security even wothout the 2 factor aunthentication, they have a great system to prevent hacker from stealing your account, the only danger from the hackers are, you need to be careful with suspicious links and phising sites

of course bitcoin will be safe when you save your bitcoin wallet safe and dividing it into several wallets, but concern and consideration of many people to invest in bitcoin bitcoin is price or rate volatility

The thing that makes bitcoin a little unsafe for someone new to it is the market price of it, but not the security of its wallet, because the price of bitcoin if rises then it drops as well so if someone invests in it in order to earn profits out of it and it drops the price somehow and stays stable there the investor would probably start panicing, though it recovers again in long run.

That is right. The price of the bitcoin changes quite a lot. That makes it less suitable to be a good currency.

I agree that the market around bitcoin especially the investment area is a bit unsafe for the beginner.  There are many scam company that take advantage of the innocence of their audience and trigger their greed to jump into their scheme. Then when this scam company have enough, they run with the funds and leave their investor hanging.

Only dumb people put their coins in an online wallet as a long term storage solution. I really don't know what their motive for this may be, but one thing is sure, it's a bad choice. If you don't own the private keys of your wallets, then you don't own anything. Wink

Yes, around bitcoin there are lot of thing that impact on bitcoin's reputation but that does not mean any doubts on bitcoin's safety. Bitcoin is always safer to hold and to invest more. For user's mistake, a system will not be responsible in my opinion.

I think you should still be careful though many people say that bitcoin has a bright future but still there will be no one who knows about the future, so it is better not to take risks by using all your money to invest. although bitcoin safe but you should know that prices go up and down, and may be down for a long time?

Yeah, investing all your assets in bitcoin is not a good thing. Since the developer can dump its price up to 1 if he likes to. So just put some capital that you want to grow but not that much so when time comes that the bitcoin is dead. You will not regret to loose all your assets. Just put what you can afford to loose. And another thing. After you double your investment , you can withdraw your capital right away and yoy can just circulate the profit.

Of course it will be safe if you would just keep quite if you have a big amount and pretend that you have nothing... Coz if you always told everyone about your savings then probably you are always in their eyes... But anyway, I think it is safe to keep atleast few of your assets to bitcoin since I haven't heard any regulation about bitcoin here in where I live, so probably your assets will be safe from taxes...  Smiley

That's better that bank in that aspect as we cannot divulge our personal information in bitcoin, no one will know that we are holding a big amount of money because of the anonymous feature of bitcoin, but as a market as a whole it cannot be considered as safe.
