There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

It's pretty much called a vanity address. You could even brute force millions of addresses  per minute to find the address that suits you.

You can read more about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25804.0

I have like 3 addresses total.

At this moment I have 0.2 worth of bitcoins , I won it at a raffle promo.
Um.. excuse me sir, the OP asked about how many BITCOIN ADDRESS do you have, not how much Bitcoin do you have.

I only have 1 bitcoin address
It's totally not safe for you, if someone hack your wallet or maybe you lost the private key then you will lose everything.
lol I just know, if you have only 1 address, its very risky and not safe  Roll Eyes
Well, having one address doesn't mean it isn't safe, it just means that if anything happens to that one address that it would affect his entire wallet. If he knows what he is doing, one address will be all he'll need. People just suggest multiple addresses for the partially increased anonymity and the ability to divide your funds among the wallets to prevent you from losing all of your funds if something happens. You can have 5 addresses on one hard drive and if the hard drive gets corrupted or is damaged, that's the end of the entire set of funds.
This reason can be accepted, 1 address does not mean unsafe, but I prefer to many addresses, for more anonymity

I can't label transactions after they've been made, so I name an address basically per transaction, so if I ever want to check or find a past transaction, I can just find the address I labelled for that transaction

Unlimited. I use different addresses for different places. Satoshi want us to use different addresses for every transaction. It's the nature of Bitcoin. There are infinite Bitcoin addresses, why use only a dozen?

I can't even count the amount of addresses i have. In 2011 i first installed bitcoin client, and i found it interesting that you could create countless amounts of addresses - so i
did just that. It had no worth to it, it was just a bunch of empty addresses. Don't know why i wanted to have more than one, probably just to differentiate and monitor different deposits more easily i guess.

cheers

If I count every single address that has funds on it, I'd say that I have around 20 addresses. I don't have so many to don't be tracked (I don't care if people know how much I own) but because I like to have a defined address for a defined purpose.

I am using just 3 addresses from my starting days because I feel its not good idea to have many addresses but now after reading some posts from Danny Hamilton thinking to use new address for every transaction is much better idea

I have some of them ofc, you know 1 for "daily things" and the rest to try to keep safe some of my satoshis  Wink

Btw i´m not counting here all those from exchanges etc etc, so why i have more than 1? so simply, because i think that is really needed, well maybe you dont need to have 3k of address but at least few of them for different purposes are needed IMHO.

IMHO #1.b of suspects, Hal Finney is/was S.N.

I have like 3 in different systems but my main one is from Xapo as of today and we all know they use dynamic ones so I don't really have access to it if I wanted to.

I recently have sent micro earnings directly to betting site address to avoid dealing with all the hassle back and forth. It's not much of course but I bet some and see if I hit a jackpot once in a while hehe.

At least 50.  I use multiple services for different reasons, and have always labeled addresses based on where they are deposited from.  I keep certain mining addresses on one wallet for tax purposes, and I have addresses for cold storage as well as exchange addresses.

I own just 5. 1 for payments, 1 for savings and 3 for a combination of the above. I don't feel the need to get a lot of addresses right now. Maybe if we can have more causes i.e. spending etc. i will add some more.
