We have all used Bitcoin, and most people are hesitant to buy expensive things with Bitcoin. Mostly ....because of what I call the "Pizza" effect.

I guess people think, if they buy something small today, and the price of Bitcoin doubles or triple tomorrow, they will have lost a lot less. How many of you, have that same thing

in mind, when you have to make purchasing decisions?

Example : Buy 1 pizza today {Price per Bitcoin = $300} ..... When the price increase to $600 per Bitcoin after a month, that same Bitcoins would have doubled in value.

I think people are less worried about that, because other currencies are a lot less volatile. Will you base your decision to buy something, on how expensive that item is, and

how much you could have had, if you did not buy it, and the price doubled or even tripled?

To me, the price I pay today... will be the amount it was valued at the time of purchase... I would have paid for that in fiat for the same price anyway... the possibility that it's

price might double or triple within a day or a week or a month, is irrelevant.  Huh

i don't look back if i for example buy something for 0.25btc when the price is $200, and right now the price is $360. it doesn't make sense as we buy something when we need it. i don't think like if i keep holding a bit more then i can buy more for the same amount. if i need it now, i will buy it now.

The most expensive thing that I bought with bitcoin was an investment. Yes, one investment. It is not a common bought and a classic one but is yet a bought. I "bought" this investment (offered from a Fund) in order to have more bitcoin. So I spend a big amount of bitcoin about three years ago. This amount of bitcoins was back to me not in bitcoin but in the amount of value they had in that time. This because the bitcoin invested in this Fund was stolen by the manager of it. And the business which was responsible for that investment decide to give to all the participants the amounts in us dollar of their investment in bitcoin but calculated with value of bitcoin three years ago. Better than nothing. Even the value of bitcoin three years ago was much less compared to it value today. But at least I had something.

If a merchant accepts bitcoin, I prefer to pay with bitcoin, but I always make sure I buy back the bitcoins I used. This cancel the regret I might experience, if the price goes up in future. It is not always possible for the more expensive items, but I try.

I have reserve coins in cold storage for the big pay day when the price reach crazy levels and that would make up for all the bitcoin I have spend, when the price was lower. The opposite is also true, you might not spend it when the price was at it's current levels and it might drop to a few cents and you would regret not spending it, when it was $300.

None of us know what the future will bring, let's just enjoy the moment. ^LoL^

a mining rig in the past, a gpu rig exactly with 6 750ti and evrything else, it cost me around 1200 euro, but it did generate much more, around 2k

in the case i would not have bought that i woud have lost money, but i can see what you're trying to say with something that is not bought for investment, but for personal care

this is related to someone have his target first then you can finally spend your bitcoin without worring about losing value on what you buy

for example if my target is 10k, i would wait until then before starting to use bitcoin massively, and even if it will increase to 20k, i would leave in peace, because 10k was enough for me

The most expensive thing was buying bitcoins itself, and buying bitcoin is already an investment.

I'm not really spending mine since it's something I do on the side. I'm just saving and holding it.

So far my most expensive purchase with Bitcoin was worth $75 at that time. Since then the price has gone up more than 20%. Does it matter much to me? Nope.

The most expensive thing that I bought with Bitcoin were plane tickets, around 450 euros worth.

No, I look at the Bitcoin value as I spend the bitcoins, not how much it could be worth a month or few months later when Bitcoin price moves. This would make no sense since I would always regret something! Smiley

The question would be, would it matter if you bought something for say $10 000 and the price of Bitcoin rose with say 300%   Huh It is fine, when you make small purchases with Bitcoin, but does it matter if you

are buying more expensive stuff and the price double or tripple. The amount lost on bigger purchases will be felt more than the smaller purchase. I hear what everyone is saying, and I belive that it makes no

sense to have regrets over something that has not happened or might not even happen.... but what if it does? Would the $10 000 you spend at a price of $300 per bitcoin be that simple, if that amount of Bitcoins

reach a price of say $10 000 per Bitcoin? Only one guy can probably comment on that feeling... Laszlo Hanyecz who bought 2 x pizza's for 10 000 bitcoins in 2010. {At that time, it was worth $30}  Roll Eyes
