Yeah. There's nothing much to worry about. The risk of the owner running with your Bitcoins is very very small if you play with reputable sites like PRC and Primedice. They are very well known and would lost a lot by running with your coins. Alternatively, look for sites which uses moneypot API. They have no control of your coins and can't cheat either. Moneypot looks trusted enough. I'm not too sure with the new owners but I would trust all of them.

Yeah this is a very good point about trying to find sites that use moneypot.  Hopefully as time goes on, more online casinos will be forced to use this type of API system since it seems to be the most trust form handling money on a gambling site.  Of course, since there are only a couple sites that use this system, it's not to say that sites that don't use moneypot are scam sites; but as time goes on, there will be a need for these sites to evolve and use this API system in order to remain "credible".

do take note that moneypot recently is gonna change owners. although the trust issue may be there again, but the new team member seems quite reputatable too but still it is safe to be more aware of it.

Gambling can help Bitcoin because it is huge market!!A very huge market!
And compared with other financial systems it is much easier and faster and of course cheaper to use Bitcoin.Furthermore not much personal informations are needed.Less hassle and comfortable to use.
Every market or industry where Bitcoin can be applied will help to spread it out for the masses and therefore increase it's value.
Gambling, remittances, porn, e-commerce are just a few big markets where Bitcoin will grow a lot!

I think your saying is that bitcoin help them because it is easy to use. If they applied in their market may be they can do many things but gambling can't help bitcoin to become more attractive. People using bitcoin for gambling because they need to be anonymous so it safe to gamble

The only potential problem is that the funds are centralised with moneypot. This is essentially putting all the trust into moneypot and trusting them to not run away. I would prefer using moneypot with sites that are less well known but I'm fine with sites like Primedice. Moneypot is great for 0 fee when  moving funds between casino though.

One of the killer aspects of the Bitcoin + gambling combination is the fact that you don't even need to show any credentials to start gambling your money, if you compare gambling with Bitcoin vs gambling with money, you will know that to gamble with your local currency you need to give several details about yourself which is annoying, with BTC you go right on the game.

The match is perfect however think about the industry. The nature of bitcoin (anon and very easy to sent/receive) makes it interesting for scammers.
This is not just for gambling, but involves every transaction with bitcoin.

Exactly, this is my main concern. Sure gambling is just another thing were scammers can do their nasty things, but some kind of regulation would protect newbie's much better.
It will serve bitcoin trustworthyness a lot.

I don't think dice sites running away with money is a very big concern as most dice sites have more to gain by staying. Also, more dice sites are using the moneypot API, which makes it hard to run off with the bitcoin.

However, I do think that people ruining their lives because of gambling is a concern.

Even if they try and audit a site, if they have the malicious attempt to run away with bitcoins, they will find a way in some way if a lot of people start investing there and trusting the site. It's more prevalent with investing sites, but can be done by anyone else easily if they really feel they want too. Though I think if you get that much traffic into your site by being trustworthy, the person will probably be able to make more money in the long run of things if they run things smoothly and have house edge on their side.

Everyone knows that gambling is a very very huge market but although they are huge they can't help much to improve the popularity of bitcoin because bitcoin is used limited for gambling only. It cant do much about their price. Actually this is nothing to lose for them
