I've made quite some posts and read even more threads. Which made me think about the combination of Bitcoin and Gambling.

Is it ok to gamble with bitcoin? Last year we've seen a lot of scams and 'hacks'. Fact is that most of them are either made up by the devs or done by scammers whom use bitcoin's anonimity.

Pro
Let's be honest, Gambling is fun, but Bitcoin it is also very easy?

Con
Look at some dice sites, cloud mining sites that ust dissapeared with consumers money.

Since it is about money I am interested in your opintion, Is the combination of gambling and Bitcoin good?

Yes it is ok to gamble with bitcoin.

I think there are definitely a lot of scams out there, but people should be wary. You really should not spend money you do not have, and treat it as entertainment rather than a job. Also even with gambling you should read up as much as possible and have proper money management with adequate capital, so even if you have 20% scams you have gambled on, the other 80% will more than make up for losses.

Preferably avoid gambling, if someone couldn't resist then better use well-established sites, since you mentioned dice sites we all know at least 2-3 famous sites (no need to advertise it here).

Personally I like what I read in the gambling section when i visit its topics:
Quote
Warning: You are in the Gambling section. You are likely to eventually lose any money that you gamble/"invest". Additionally, moderators do not remove likely scams. You must use your own brain: caveat emptor. Do not gamble more than you can afford to lose.

Gambling is very attractive field for any one so if possible do not enter, that is the best advice any one can give you.

If you really want to gamble with bitcoins than make up your mind that gambling is only for fun as you said in your post, do not ever try making money from gambling.

If you still want to make some profits than according to me sports betting may be slightly better option compared to dice games playing. But still there is risk in sports betting.

If we as an communtiy seek mass adoption, shouldn't we protect newcomers? When you came in the world of Bitcoin, were you an alert for scammers?

Can we expect new people whom bought bitcoin to read that? Sure you should read the bylines. But's let be honest. The default template of SMF is one of the most ugly one. In this history of SMF no other big site uses this template...

BTW why should we indulge it? If we are the bitcoin supporters, if we support bitcoin, wouldn't that make new people our.. family?

Would you say to a family member.. Yeah let's do it. Buy some coins and go to bitcointalk to spend it...
Or would you protect them. Don't just invest into bitcointalk.org better yet avoid it, there are too many scams there...?

LOL you increased your post count. But it has little to none relevance to the question I asked, would you be kind enough to don't post in this thread.
I want a discussion here, pro's and con's..

Yes bitcoin has enabled the Gambling payment processing very ease and convenient for both gambling houses as well as gamblers. The many new potential advantages of bitcoin system made using bitcoin in gambling sites more convenient than traditional credit card or Paypaly kind of things.

Gambling and Bitcoin is a match made in heaven.

Fast deposits. Fast withdrawals/payouts. No ID or residence verification. No cc charge-backs to worry about for gambling sites.

Also provably fair games.

Bitcoin has the potential of being the future of gambling.

gambling and bitcoin is a combination which has generated a good revenue for the gambling sites, and the users also. because fiat gambling sites to be used only by above 18+ age and you have to give all your personal identification then only you can use it full. but in bitcoin sites you dont have to give any details just create a login id and deposit the bitcoin and start earning, due to that bitcoin gambling sites have earned a lot of new users who are from all ages and are happy to use this sites as they dont have to give any personal verifications.

Gambling and bitcoin are a perfect combination. The speed and easy way of loading and withdrawing funds from the sites is very good. Also, the verifiability of the odds makes sure you are actually getting what is being advertised.

Gambling and bitcoin is two very different things. Gambling is a method where people become broke very quickly.

Bitcoin on the other hand is just a currency like gold.

I absolutely agree with this statement. Why? Because not all gambling were using bitcoin. Its more real money, i believe. At the same time, bitcoin already reach on world market price. With bitcoin, people also can gambling, in the other words, can make some money through the casino site that provides bitcoin for betting. We need to wait the bitcoin price will increase again after this.

Yes, it is definitely okay to gamble with Bitcoin. Nothing wrong with that, to be honest. But I heard the usage of Bitcoin are illegal in some country.

In my opinion, the combination of gambling and Bitcoin definitely the best. Because you can deposit any amount of Bitcoin almost instantly!

Yeah. There's nothing much to worry about. The risk of the owner running with your Bitcoins is very very small if you play with reputable sites like PRC and Primedice. They are very well known and would lost a lot by running with your coins. Alternatively, look for sites which uses moneypot API. They have no control of your coins and can't cheat either. Moneypot looks trusted enough. I'm not too sure with the new owners but I would trust all of them.

Gambling (Betting included) and Bitcoin is the future.Especially for online gambling.
It's quick, very easy in use and not much ID (if any) is needed.
This industry will grow much bigger in the future I don't know any reason what should be wrong about that.
I mean the chances of winning and losing will not change if you use credit cards or so.
So no worries as long as you know yourself where the limit is.

Using bitcoins to gamble should be okay. I see it as something I do for entertainment.

If you moderate yourself and just do it every now and then you should be okay.
